Fun fact, gibdos turning white when stunned goes all the way back to Ocarina of Time.

I fell into the chasm, saw a gibdo and literally went "OH FUCK, NOT THEM!"

Not that scary at first, till they get down on all fours and start spider walking.

When they turn white melee attacks will work on them.

Dude pretty much went "Kill it! Kill it with fire!"

THEY NEEEEEED TO SCREAM!! The undead in Zelda games need to keep their paralyzing screams with a follow up hard hit like they've always done!! Fr fr!!

My first experience was paragliding into the sandstorm and seeing the glowing wings.

At first I was stocked they got brought back. But then I was let down they were missing their scream that stuns link. They aren't very threatening but at least they are represented and not forgotten about

I first encountered them in the depths, with glowing eyes and covered in gloom so it was extra spooky. I got a good cryptidesque photo of them though

Is it just me or do the old school ones freak you out more? Lol😂 and no blood curdling scream?! The old-school ones DEFINITELY freaked me out more, these look more like pinsir(spell check, its been a while lol) from Pokemon lol😂🤦

I’ve beaten this game many times and trust me even when i know there will be a Gibdo jumpscare but it makes me so scared every time☠️

mi first awful experience whit gibdos was in the wind waker where they stun you whit a scream and you can see them slowly going towards you unable to move

No these things traumatized me as a kid. I was like 8 when I started playing ocarina of time and I went into a tomb and there were like 3 of them and I FREAKED out. Safe to say I've never been the same sense.

I’m disappointed they don’t scream or stun anymore.

Gibdos (or as Auto Correct calls them “Gondolas”) get stunned and no longer have any armor when they get hit by any elemental attack. Riju with her lightning is the most efficient way to kill them, but any elemental attack will stun them long enough for you to finish them off quickly with any attack

When I saw them in a trailer I thought it was the ReDeads and was super jazzed about it because I wanted the stunning scream to make a return. That’s one of my very minor complaints for TotK, they don’t shriek and stun Link. It would’ve been so terrifying in crystal clear HD to hear the shrieks of damned souls surrounding me.

I was kind of disappointed that they were bug-like. BotW/TotK really seemed to dance around human undead and just human battles in general. Everything has to be a “monster”

Something amazing happened that day when I learned about attaching gibdo bones to my bow…. But the lynels hated it…

when i saw those things, i just went the other way, or at least i thought. i ended up going further into the storm and they were everywhere. at first i thought they where zombie things but now i see that they're way worse. moth things that somewhat resemble people from a distance. that will always be one of the most terrifying thing i have seen in totk

Dude the moment I saw the gibdo I just straight up paused the game and went to get a drink. Also- dude- the Gibdo Queen has me raging bro-

Gibdos are totally underwhelming. Remember the ones from OOT? Now THEY were scary!

My go to tactic at least for 1 on 1’s: Shield bash with a fused like like elemental stone, then melee hit :)

Btw it’s easyer to fight redeads using arrows (use fuse with something like church jelly or a bomb flower) also I’m now gonna have nightmares for eternity so yea 😭

When I saw one in Gerudo Town, I took a picture of it right away. When I heard they are vulnerable to fire and thunder, I always took them down with shock fruits. I thought they would still have their screams, but they didn't. So now I can take them down in just 2 hits with a thunder sword. Of course, I told my friends their weaknesses when they will explore Gerudo Desert.

Gibdoes are redeads under bandages so yes redeads technically are back

Yeah when i first encountered a gibdo i ran when i saw how little damage i did to them.

These, along with the gloom hands are what's preventing me from playing tears of the kingdom. They are so fucking scary that I can't bring myself to get the game, knowing that I'm probably gonna start crying from fear.

Wait until you see the MOTH Gibdo 🤣

Tip: they are weak against fire, electric, water, and blindness

I hate these damn things. In OoT I used to play the Sun's Song whenever I saw one of these or a Redead from across the room. There's one room in the Shadow Temple where you go into a tiny room and there are two Redeads almost within scream/grabbing distance, and before the door even closes I've pulled out my Ocarina because I'm not dealing with all that mess

where is the freeze effect from link's fear ? they removed it?

Any element attacks will make the gibdos more vulnerable to your normal hits.

I had a nightmare where the ate me once. Comfort food was nice in the morning

The gerudo desert was the second place i went to... after seeing the gibdo and the sand shroud... i finally beat the lightning temple after a few weeks after the other 3 temples. I don't like these things. Even 300+ hours in. Lol

They're not scary at all, now that they don't scream and they're just bugs. They're just as scary and the skeletons now, since, well, they can look like skeletons.

My question is.... Why are the redeads (gibdo variant) Insects in the game instead of tall mummies, not complaining, love the design but its kind of odd imo

Ngl, Nintendo had a MASSIVE opportunity to not only make this a dark Zelda title akin to Majora, but establish Gibdos as terrifying enemies. And they failed. All that focus went to making the FUCKING GLEOOKS OP AS SHIT. Major fail on a legendary enemy, Nintendo. You nerfed an enemy that fans were PRAYING to strike fear into their hearts years after the Redeads were nerfed to lazy skeleton screamyboi's in TP in the mid-2000s

One of the most frightening-looking enemies, but also one of the most feeble and easy. One hit with fire or electricity and they’re basically DONE. Just more annoying than anything. At least they don’t shriek and paralyze you right in your tracks like in OoT, though.
