This is my favorite song from him. It reminds me of my fiance because he was the one who gave me this tape because this was back when they had tapes. Not CDs yet and it reminds me of him. Unfortunately, he got killed in a car wreck on his way to visit me. He was in the service stationed in Houston, Texas. So this song reminds me of him and the life we could have had. May you rest in peace, Keith 🙏🏾🙏🏾
First off, so sorry for your loss...🥺thank Kieth for his service, and thank u dear for reminding us of how preciously short life is and how we all should remember those special moments. God bless u🙏🏽💐
@@paulinesmith6553 Oh that's a beautiful story! I love that. It's funny how a song can take you back to moments. It's a precious thing. Thanks for sharing ❤️
@@earth2kosmickitty Thank you so much. Life is short and precious. Like I responded to another person. It's funny how a single song can take you back to moments in your life. Sometimes it opens old wounds, but it's also nice to go back and remember even if it is painful.
Gosh he has such a beautiful voice. He was the main man in the 80s! He had so many hits. ‘When The Going Gets Tough’ is a must, as well as ‘Suddenly’ is really great too and how about a older Billy throwback to ‘Love Really Hurts Without You’.
And he was so smooth with it...he along with Luther Vandross, Robert Palmer, and Brian Ferry brought back that ol skool suave and debonaire gentleman vibe that was sorely missing in that era. Beautiful song...thank u guys 🥰🥰
Thank you guys for reacting to Billy Ocean who is one of my favorite artist. Happy Birthday Amber!!!! May your love one let you know how special you are to them.
Billy ocean, Billy ocean and Bryan Adams bryan adams too. Now, when those songs come on, you gotta check out on the dance floor and the day, and she's a little tipsy, ha ha ha ha😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
I have two more favourites that you guys NEED to check out. The video for When the Going Gets Tough - the Tough Get Going is a MUST watch. It's from the Jewel of the Nile movie and the video features Danny Devito, Michael Douglas, and Kathleen Turner as his backup singers and dancers. Fantastic song AND video. The other is Love is Forever. A melt like butter beautiful ballad.
Great reaction! I don't know if you've reviewed it already, but---"Suddenly" is another one of his ballads that I just know you"ll absolutely love. I was best man to my best friend thirty-eight years ago, when he got married to that song. And... he and his wife are STILL going strong. ❤❤
Agreed, would love to hear Jon Secada. I would also love to hear more Spanish music. Do they have any on their channel? What is the best way to request artists and songs??
@@mariepenela2656 I know they've done artists like Gloria Estefan. Just put your request in the comment section of one of their recent reactions and maybe they will see it!
Agreed! I don't speak a word of Spanish (well, maybe a few) but I played that cassette tape so many times that I learned to sing both Angel and Just Another Day in Spanish. Probably helped that the lyrics were included with the tape 😃. He is a beautiful singer.
I'm always happy when I hear Billy Ocean's voice! 😀No matter what song. Amber will melt for "The Color of Love" and Jay will like "When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Going”.
Summer,1986...this is one of the songs that remind me of my girlfriend at the time during another military summer, this time in Texas. Wow! I haven't heard it in 30 years...thank you!! My second Ocean fave was "When the Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going".You'll love the song, especially the video. It was a movie theme. One of the first ones (soundtrack video) made the way it was. I will send you money if you don't enjoy it. 😇
What a voice he had!!! Still touring and making people smile..... He had it all and made sure he shared it with the world... One of the best pop voices of the 80s.
The 80's really were the best decade for tracks eh ? I grew up in the 80's and I was privileged to have the impossible choice of what to listen to on my Sony "Auto reverse" cassette player so you didn't have to physically turn the tape over at the end of each side - anyone remember them? Such great memories of sneaking that to school and trying not to get caught listening in the breaks. It still seems like the best era for me. I didn't listen to much of Billy Ocean but this is a really good track and I love your comments and reactions. Keep it up !! :)
I remember when my husband and I got an auto-reverse cassette player for our car. It was great for long drives not having to flip the tape. Great memories!
@@bonniespruin6369 Seemeed like sorcery to me when I was in my early teens 😆 But I agree it was a game changer for me. My mix tapes (shhh don't tell anyone I used to record tracks off the radio onto tape) never seemed so good ! no fumbling around trying to turn the tape over. I only got my first car at the end of the 80's and that had a standard cassette dek / radio in it- I was gutted !
You should check out his disco era songs from the late 70s..either 'Red Light Spells Danger', 'Stop Me If You've Heard It All Before' or 'Love Really Hurts Without You'.
I've had the pleasure of seeing Billy three times now. The latest being only a few months ago at the Royal Sandringham Estate in the UK. He simply oozes style, quality and the best of human nature. You automatically feel happier in his presence. Long may he live🙏
Please look up Billy singing "Suddenly" when he is much older (2009). His voice was still effing amazing and gave me goosebumps. I love that song so much but his version on some news show in 2009 was amazing.
Love love love Billy Ocean. Please please please would you react to his "Red Light (Spells Danger)". Its a great song from 1976. And it just transports me back to a fabulous, wonderful time in my life, when nothing mattered., and Disco was everything. ❤🎼🎶💃🕺
Now imagine having these smooth voices in the 80s- Billy Ocean, James Ingram, Peabo Bryson, Michael Bolton, Freddie Jackson, Luther Vandross, George Benson, etc. Who did I miss?
Billy Ocean this is my favorite song by him as I was in my 20s listening to this song on my little radio. Pop easy listening and rock an roll. 80s music is my favorite. Again Amber. Happy birthday and I hope u had a great day with ur family and I wish u all the best. ❤❤❤❤
Billy Ocean. I still listen to his music today, his voice still gives me chills. Guys you have not reacted to (The other piano man), Neil Sedaka yet (60's & 70's) "Laughter in the Rain" is my fav. I'm waiting for someone to react to him. He was a great songwriter as well.
Billy Ocean’s vocals are amazing! You can’t help but feel every emotion he puts into his songs. You should listen and react to the duet by Jermaine Jackson and Whitney Houston called, “If You Say My Eyes Are Beautiful.”
My favorite Billy Ocean song is "When the Going Gets Tough". It's actually the theme of the follow-up movie to Romancing The Stone and always makes me smile.
The lyrics Love songs make you cry is so true and especially 1980's love songs can make you cry. I have so many that i hear them and if im alone and it's a tear jerker song the tears trickle or flow depending on the song. Saw Billy Ocean in 2016 really cool concert. Good songs.
In september 2022 Billy whas in the Netherlands and i toke my brother mother and nice to his concert and it whas superb. He is so good. He whas a really big star in Holland. The hole public song his songs from the beginning till the end . What a flashback
I'm glad to see you guys doing more Billy Ocean. I love him so much!! A really fun song of his is When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Going. You have to do the original music video because it is so fun. I hope you guys will do it!!
What's even more amazing is about Billy is that he married his wife in 1978 and he is still married to her 45 years later. You don't see that very often in the world of music superstars. Congratulations to him and his wife.
We were so lucky to have Billy Ocean and Lionel Richie to listen to in the 80s. They came out with so many great hits. How about some Earth, Wind, and Fire (like Boogie Wonderland or Santana (have you heard Smooth yet?) next? Or even Kid Creole and the Coconuts--My Male Curiosity.
I have seen Billy live 3 times and hope to make it a forth soon. So many great songs that could be called classics. As a kid when Top of the pops was on and Billy was performing my dad (who worked at Fords Langley) said 'I believe Billy worked at Fords Dagenham'. I could not believe it but i think he had to work till he took off on his career. He told me of a few who started there before they became famous. My wife and I cant wait to see the great man again. What a voice.
He has so much talent. He was a late-bloomer as far as garnering mass appeal. But once he took off, he was on every playlist from roller-rinks, top 40 radio, college parties and discos.
