@@MARTIN-bd7gm That's ESPECIALLY true here in the U.S. I'm always talking about how artists are "Aged out" now, once you hit 30. I was going to post a LONG diatribe about this topic on their "We are the World" reaction. Nearly all the people in that song are over 35 or 40+. Like someone said: "I'm not taking advice on matters of the heart from some teenager with NO experience or miles on their clock!" Sometime during the late 90's or so, this whole "Aging Out" crap started & the music industry has SUCKED ever since. Just look at todays Pop chart #'s nobody is over the age of 25 or 30yrs old. Songs sound better & have more meaning when they're written by someone with years of real life experience, rather than some teeny-bobber with a "summer crush." The Music industry is trash & TRASH is all it produces.

I like the video version because it shows exactly what this song is about. She's one of those artists who has a vast catalog. Mostly uptempo and midntempo but always soulful. She also has a duet with Barry White.

Stansfield is as good live as in studio. Be sure to check her out live with George Michael singing These Are The Days of Our Lives" at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert. Alternatively, she did a solo of I've Got To Break Free at the same concert.

Lisa Stansfield is so soulful that her music was far more successful on the Billboard R&B charts than the Billboard Top 100 charts. The "All Woman" music video was amazing. I don't know why it was taken off of RU-vid.

If you like Lisa Stansfield, you should check out the duo, Everything But The Girl. They’ve been around since the mid-80’s, but their big hits came around ‘95, starting with the song, Missing. Vocalist, Tracey Thorn has also worked with Massive Attack. *And* they just released a new album Fuse, after a 24 year hiatus to raise their family.

Lovely Lisa, from Rochdale, Yorkshire in the UK. Fun fact, she was a TV presenter when very young, on a show called Razzmatazz. She then became the lead singer in a band called “Bluezone” and they had a club hit in the UK with “Big Thing” A dance act called Coldcut featured her on “People Hold On” then she had solo success, this being a later hit. A brilliant live performance here, so talented. Shame that she did not achieve more success.

Apart from Lisa's vioce being outstanding, the other thing is she's such a great song writer, 99.8% of her output (including this one) is written by Lisa with her husband of 25 years Ian Devaney. She's still making great music to this day, you should check out a track called Billionaire from her latest album Deeper.

Ohh, I Love Lisa Stansfield!! I went to see her when her 1st album came out, her 1st show in Philadelphia. She got the crowd ROCKING!! On your own, just ofr yourselves, you should watch her singing live at The Apollo in NY!! Rarely see people there up and moving for anyone (she sang "Been Around The World"). FOr future reactions listen to 'Sincerity', 'Never Never Going to Give You Up', and 'You Can't Deny It'!!

Back in 1999. Lisa Standfield starred in a movie title "Swing." You need to take a look at that film. You will be pleasantly surprised by her acting and singing in the film. In the movie she sings "Ain't What You Do." "Baby I Need Your Lovin.' Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens." Mack The Knife." She also did a duet with Barry White titled-"All Around The World."

Just thought guys, how about checking out The Beautiful South, a British group started in Hull, UK. They formed after The Housemartins split as the lead singer was Paul Heaton alongside Dave Hemingway too though Heaton duets with Jacqueline Abbot now but in The Beautiful South it was originally with Briana Corrigan for 1st 3 albums, then Jacqui for albums 4-7 and finally Alison Wheeler for their final 3 albums! They have a wonderful sound and their songs are often story based too so hope you get to check them out. I won't specify any of their songs as they are all great! I love them still ❤

I had the great privilege of seeing Lisa live in 2019 and man she's still got it, her voice was as wonderful as ever. She has so many great tracks from throughout her career. My choices in chronological order would be - This Is The Right Time. What Did I do To You. When Are You Coming Back. Set Your Loving Free. Real Love So Natural (An absolute must for reacting to) In All The Right Places. The Real Thing Never Never Gonna Give You Up (A killer version of the Barry White Classic) Let's Just Call It Love 8-3-1 (Possibly my favourite Lisa tune) If I Hadn't Got You So Be It Everything. Every album has something on it that stands out from the norm. Classic artist, magnificent voice and fabulous songs.
