Kudos to those who choose this lifestyle. Then idea of driving all day, never being home and random drug tests seem like hell. I could never do it, but props to you guys!!
Once you have been chosen by Safety for a random drug test, your dispatch status is flagged as Out of Service by Safety, which prevents a driver from being planned on another load. They don’t want to risk a driver not being able to be dispatched on the load if the random drug test comes back positive.
Hey man I’ve been clean for 90 plus days I decided to quit smoking because I wanted to get my cdl and better my life, I talked to a recruiter from swift early today and told him I would like to start in October or mid October so I’m hoping I’m able to pass the half follicle test during my orientation I’ve been clean since April 15 so right about 140 days clean so I’m hoping I’m in the clear if anyone could get back to me that would be great 😊 hoping to start a new career
I just started my CDL class last Monday and this next week, we'll be doing yard hours. I'll also be going through Swift. Do you get to choose the color of the truck you drive (blue or white) or no? Also, how do you do your logs? Is it better to get a different gps system than the truck has? Also, did your recruiter ghost you throughout schooling? How long did you go through the school? Sorry, I have a crap ton of questions as I'm just starting out
They’ll give you a choice of like 3 trucks (if you upgrade at Jurupa Valley), but it doesn’t hurt to ask. You’ll learn how to do your logs when you’re with your mentor. It’s not very difficult. Once they work out the bugs, the Zonar GPS should be good, but it doesn’t hurt to have a back up. My recruiter went ghost like immediately; don’t trip on that at all. Just do what you gotta do.

...oh! If you’re a veteran and your Swift recruiters ghosted you, make sure you follow up with payroll. Mine didn’t enter my DD214, and I had to email a veterans help link to get it fixed. Swift gave me the back pay, but I was still super annoyed I had to chase that down myself because my recruiter just moved on to the next without finishing the job.
I understand the random tests for drivers, but for body shop workers? That’s a little overkill lol obviously don’t be high on the job but the only vice I have is a little marijuana every now & again. I should be able to indulge in my free time. I can do a lot more things high than I could drink lmao

My company sent me in for a drug test and a breathalyzer test. 'Deffently NOT Swift though' After I drove 1600 miles without takin a rest break. Lol. They thought I was on drugs or drunk. The joke was on them. ! That was the good ole days before e logs. 👍

I failed a dot test last year for a cab company, but im clean now and want to become a trucker. Will the past dot show up to the trucking company, and will it disqualify me from becoming a trucker even if im clean now?
So chez after your 4 weeks of training in school that swift pays for, do we then get Paired with a swift driver instructor or do we have to go to one of swift academy’s for more training?

This ends more careers! The random drug test. At my company, they have recruits who know that the first thing they are going to do on day 1 of orientation is take a drug test. They still fail!! If you smoke, put the stuff sown for a couple of weeks !! You know the test is coming!!!
Do They Constantly Do Hair Follicle Test I'm Done With Smoking But It Might Still Be In My Hair I Bought This Shampoo That Cleans The Follicles Just To Past The Pre Employment But It Only Works For 5 Hours Once I Get To The Terminal Will They Drug Test Me Again?

I went to take a drug test and a full physical at that clinic in fontana .That place sucks they said it was a 4 to 5 hr wait and it’s supposedly a urgent care clinic lol 😂
man i went cold turkey when i decided i wanted to get my cdl in august it will be a year hopefully ill be clean by then, oh and man its gonna be 6 months next mont since your first solo trip got that half way mark u feeling kinda hyped?
try not to sign up with bug companies go with small companies, better pay and they will care more about you, go with private school to get ur cdl it’s a lot cheaper trust me and you wont be stuck with any contract.
they do hair follicle and urine test, they don’t need a lot of hair, and if they can’t get any from your head they can shave a little on your arms or legs
Knight Transportation allows drivers to reject any load for no reason. Its a company policy. If you're interested these two companies are connected now
Bless you for doing over the road, but I would never in my life take my truck back over the road again. I did it for 2 months and said the hell with that and went back to Oil & Gas. Ohio is the worst state on this planet. Those weight stations are designed for Highway Robbery! You can't leave until you pay the toll to the troll. I did my first 10 years doing oil and gas, brought my own truck. Then decided to try over the road. 60 days later and $2400 in toll fines, being shaken down by every cop on the highway was enough! I never had 1 infraction doing Oil & Gas! OTR I was like a rookie almost! I had never slid tandems #ROFL they ate me alive. I said screw the box, and hooked back up to a Tanker, Grabbed back up my Thief, Oils, Sample kit ect. Went back into the middle of no where fighting Coyotes at night pulling Oil from a tank. hehe! GL Buddy
You can't leave until you pay tolls? They threaten you with that saying it's illegal but I keep going and pay online later instead of sitting around wasting time.
@@edwardjr1562 I was headed to P&G to drop off a load. They turned on the Light said all truck's must stop. There was 5 truck that got over. I got over also. 2 kept going though, and never went into the weight station. #LMAO I pulled into the weight station and they turned the green arrow light on for me. The two trucks ahead kept going. The had me go over the scales. They then told me driver your over weight. I went in and was like i only have 38,000 pounds. He said it was my rear axle. I believe the fine for that one incident was $246.00 Nothing big, but I didn't want to pay it. Why? He did a full inspection of the truck with a mechanics crawler. Luckily I passed. I got a sticker, and he told me I needed to slide the tandems. Then go back over it, and pay the fine. I spent an hour learning how to do it, and got out of their after paying the fine. There was 2 officers there in uniform, and some guy not in a uniform. The others didn't jam me up like that! Illinois just hit me with a $895 fine at weight station. I got hit with another one in IL by a state trooper who weight me on the side of the road. $400ish I got nailed in Michigan for another fine, and that when I called it quits. I dropped that parts load off in Detroit. I bob tailed it all the way back home on my own dime.
Look at the address. Odd numbers will be on one side and even on the other. This way you will know what side of the road you need to turn on. Good luck.
Be careful!!!BUT YOU HAD SCRIPTS(soo your Good)....but be careful eating sesame seed(BK) poppy seed(obviously) ...Dont eat "candy coated items"(my mom was warned about mint gum"candy coated" WILL give a false positive) there is ALOT of things that will give false positive...AND DOOO NOT forget DOT can give you randoms...on the side of the road(my step father got 1 of those) and (my brother got 1 at scale house)
If you can't stop smoking weed maybe trucking isn't for you. Nothing wrong with it im not gonna judge you if you smoke weed but it's the truth. Should they update these outdated laws to benefit us and stop testing for THC? Absolutely. Are they going to anytime soon? Hopefully but I doubt it. Me personally I dont really smoke pot because it fucks up my mood too much so it's easy for me to pass a drug test but for some it isnt that simple and that's okay
Man ain't no company paid 10,000 for you to get your hair tested unless you have a accident come into a company with no experience to just get your CDL at a school now if you like him you in you working for this company they yeah they going to pay 10,000 for the test you making the company money but still keep your self clean tho frfr
When I was with Swift, my dispatcher called me about a month or so after I started driving solo to tell me I had been “chosen for a Random”. I was puzzled and ask her “What’s a ‘Random’?” She hesitated for a moment and said “Random drug test.” Hearing this, I laughed a little and said “Oh! Okay! Sure! Where do I go?”
You don't need your meds. They don't ask for them anymore. Your doctor's put them on a national database. And medical marijuana is no legal to smoke even with med card.

I been working for swift 14 years never had problems yes it's hard from beginning when you new driver and you don't have experience you just need to stick with that and do what you love to do and things will get better also you will found right place its many different acounts I do appreciate swift for give me aportunity get experience for everything!!!
Hey young man are you pinoy? Dont stick with these companies now that you have enough experience go try fedex ground they have good miles for you and pay higher than Swift. DO you have doubles triples endorsement? But they run teams though.

A hot sample means your aviation career is over. Nation wide. I think for the most part the type of person that wants to fly or work on helicopters just doesn't go out and get high. Although I am pretty sure we have a Drinking MOS in there somewhere. DUIs are more common and most of those were collected outside the base but they still whack you with a big stick as you go out the door. If there is an accident everyone involved wins a free piss and bleed test. Even minor accidents. SOP is twice a year. Then you add a Mob test and deployment test and a mid tour leave test on your return. So yea. Only 2 a year and the rest are on a 3-5 year deployment cycle. 12 years. Only had one guy go hot with the herb but he was on his way out anyways and decided integrity is just not his thing. If you are on a ship I could see them testing more often. If someone goes all happy fun time and start falling over they only have a few feet to go to the ground and people around to make fun of... I mean help you up. Getting wasted on a ship and falling over could mean a swim and then all the big boats have to turn around to look for your drunk or high ass. Stress in small spaces with tons of people around seem to be the perfect storm of idiocy whereas on the runway we have more space to run away and regroup...
4 days sober on pot started studying for my cdl a few days ago guna take my exam next drug test i pass, im done for good it was a good run im 20 years old got all that funess out as a youngin

@@revup6k526 yessir good job homie, im on day 18-19 i lost track, First 5 days where super rough couldnt eat sleep the whole 9 yards, after a week my head was so much more clear i cared more ab shit and learned to deal with shit head on rather than suppress it with pot, I been studying every day almost and once i pass a drug test (hopefully another 2-3 weeks) then i can get into this august 30th cdl class at my near by community college.
