Mokwheel Basalt broke down on a 28 mile ride.
On this channel we test and review ebikes and accessories. Its our goal to help you find the perfect ebike. When we review an electric bike, we don't simply ride it once and make a video, we ride it for 50-100 miles to get familiar with all it has to offer, then we make a video. But we don't stop there, we will make follow up videos as we continue to ride.

WARNING: I am no longer recommending the Mokwheel brand. Based on my own experience and others, they company is very slow to provide support and to correct warrantee issues. New customer have waited 2-3 months to receive accessories that were promised. Some customers have unresolved maintenance and warranty problems. Although I think the bikes are great, buying would be risky in my opinion.

Thanks for the shout back. Actually, it's the pivot pin that runs parallel to the handlebars and allows you to both raise the bar and bring it back closer to the seat. (shortening the reach). Thanks again and continued success.

I really hope this video brings attention to mokwheel and they will do right by you and any other customer service issues because I'm enjoying my basalt so far and would hate to have invested in a bike that has crappy customer service

Thank you for the warning! I have been waiting and keep monitoring for the last 6 months, to see which brand faulter and have customer issues. My colleague just bought Mokwheel just recently, but I have been gearing toward either Wired Freedom or Himiway Cobra; but I am more moving towards Wired Freedom - 1st-company is local to us IL, so I can just go over their HQ and pick it up - support local business, right; 2nd, never heard any issues mechanical, support, or purchasing wise, have good power & programming; cost lower than Himiway. Himiway, pretty much same reason as Wired Freedom, except for the price; comfortable to ride, stylish, thickest tires in the market. I'm in a waiting list for Wired, step-over, right now.

Thanks for this. Both Mok wheel and Rad had deals going on. I was leaning towards Mok Wheel because all the added benefits. I purchased a Rad to be safe. Better customer service.

Dang, wish I would have found your channel sooner. I can assume who you talked too with Mokwheel based on a call i had with them. Just boght the same bike a month ago. Im coming up to that 200 mile mark....

Dang, I thought I had found the brand that was reliable and affordable. Guess not. I’ll keep looking but hope you have some recommendations that would help narrow the search. Just need a comfortable bike for our Florida trails. Thanks!

Mokwheel it a good brand, I had problems but that does not mean you will. Customer service is bad. Check your local dealer, many carry the brand. Also look at the Troxus Explorer.

Thanks so much for posting! Curious, do you have an update yet? I'm very concerned because I have a Mokwheel Mesa Plus ST and it's doing the EXACT same thing. I have a PayPal claim open but they FINALLY answered and said they would send me a new controller. If Mokwheel is this prone to problems, though, I'm worried that if I accept their deal, the new controller will do it too and then I no longer have PayPal protection. You cannot dispute something twice. I would totally be at Mokwheel's mercy during my warranty period.

I received the sensor yesterday. But they sent me a Torque and my Basalt is the first generation and needs a Cadence. I sent them an email and already heard back from them today. They processed a new order for the correct cadence sensor so it should get here in about a week. It seems most people that have had problems eventually get it resolved, it just takes much longer than it should.

@@EbikeReviews Thank you! That's good to hear that most people get their problems resolved. I was getting ready to tell PayPal I want to return it because of known problems. Maybe I'll see how it goes. Maybe I can get the new part, install it and test it before I even have to close the dispute. By the way, the reason it's a dispute is Mokwheel completely ignored me for 2 weeks. I hope your new sensor works for you 😃 EDIT: I mean I hope the 2nd sensor they're sending works

Can you tell me how to tighten the adjustable handlebar stem on the Mokwheel Basalt? It has a tendency to move several degrees on bumpy terrain no matter how much the pivot joint is tightened.

I no longer own my basalt and they have changed them since the original came out. So I can't help you much. If its just rotating there should be 2 or 4 screws where the handlebar attached to the stem, if they were tight it should not rotate. If your referring to lining up the wheel with the handlebars, check the stem bolt that runs down inside the stem. Its what hold the front forks on.

The bikes really are great, just hope you don't have problems because it may take a while to get fixed. They have sold a lot of bikes the last 6 months, and most people love them and don't have any issues. Don't turn away because of one video. Keep ding research.

That doesn't bode well for this company. There are a bunch of Lectric XP YT channels who have proved over and over again the durability/reliability of their affordable e bikes. This is one of the reasons they sell so many.

Every bike can have an issue. The Baslat is actually a great bike. But the company and their customer service is terrible. I'm still waiting to hear from them, its been 6 days.

My Lectric XP 2.0 had its controller blow up while I had my dogs in a bike trailer. I was 17mi from home. Long, hot, and painful push home. LECTRIC, BEEF UP THAT WEAK LITTLE CONTROLLER!

I got mine. assembled. but it will not turn on. I would appreciate any suggestions. I will be in their ear Monday morning.....

The display takes several seconds before it will turn on after pressing the power button. So press and hold for 5-10 seconds. Look for an on/off button on the battery, some ebikes have them, some don't. My bike was the first generation, things have changes since then so I don't know if you have one or not. While the battery is removed, look inside the compartment and make sure nothing is blocking the connection. Next I would check the wiring connections to make sure all are plugged in like they should. I hate to ask, but... is the battery fully charged?

It was really weird, I charged the battery while I assembled it. It showed complete charge. The first time it powered up, but I wasn't ready for the initial ride so I powered off. Then when I was ready for the first ride I could not get it to power. I checked the connectings and battery compartment. everything looked great. Thank you for your reply. That was solid toubleshooting procedure. I'm gonna do a little filming so I can provide Mokwheel with some visuals. I'll probably copy you after I upload, just for grins... thank you again ;9) @@EbikeReviews
