I understand what you are saying about the Seiko dial being busy. They almost always put automatic on all applicable models. If you DON'T see it it is almost certainly a quartz. And they are proud of the 3 days. You can get a 72 hour automatic movement on a durable watch under $800. They are proud of that movement with good reason.

I think Seiko has revised the movement and instead a power reserve of 70 hours it has 72 hours now and therefore they but 3 days on the dials. I realy love Seiko because of the extrem wide range of different styles they offer.

I love the Tissot 1938. It reminds me of the Tissot on Jimmy Stewart’s wrist in Rear Window.. They should do a reissue of that watch, it gets two “full screen image”moments in the movie, and I can’t remember another instance of that happening, especially in a Hitchcock film.

2824-2 is NOT necessarily COSC-certified. That is due to a further grade. The 2824-2 is the standard ETA movement, there is no non- "-2" currently used.

The Pogue homage is the pick of those selections in my humble opinion. The porcelain dial Seiko is way over priced as are the Furlan Marri and the beat up Doxa. Great video though so thank you very much for that!

My watch was purchased 2 years ago from MaMaCoo and, to this day, it still looks and runs as well as it did the day it arrived. That movement has never missed a beat despite never having been serviced. I can't complain about that.

Picked up a amzwatch's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!

As a long time Clive Cussler fan I love the Sharkhunter Edition. Just out of my budget at this time. The Squale really looks good to me.

The "dash 2" in the ETA 2824-2 doesn't mean it's COSC certified, all of these currently manufactured movements are 2824-2, it's just a second revision of this movement, which is actually being produced for years now. This is a tremendously popular movement and someone making these videos for so long now should not make mistake like this. No offence but there's more such errors in recent videos, maybe you should prepare a bit more carefully...

I like the Seiko dial with the 24h sub-dial mainly because it is procaine. There is something timeless about a material that never changes with age. Sub-dial second hands seem overly complicated but not a 24h subdial.

That caliber is just very average movement,I can’t belive of all movements(seiko 6L would be perfect) they decide to go with 7001 and charge 2.700€.

The Craftsmanship Seiko watches are great value for money. The dials can be stunning, and the bracelets are quite comfortable and easily the best ones from the company I've worn. The black lacquer dial model of 2023 would cost thousands more if it was a Swiss watch. It would also have a better movement of course, but that's another matter.

Seiko Pouge in horology is a less known as a space watch and more known as a FIRST ever automatic chronograph,they sold in Japan Pouge 6 months before “El Segundo but Zenith as being Zenith is still cringe to this day-they know they were not the first but still they named their chrono El primero.

I find most of the complaints about Seiko are the name on the dial for the price. Case in point the Oris Aquis has equal finishing to any diver up to $8k, a 5 day power reserve and 10 year warranty. But it doesn’t get mentioned in every conversation about the price of Omega because people see Omega as more luxury (branding) All watches are unneeded so buy what you like and if someone in the watch community tells you it’s overpriced then just remember only a$$holes do that an enjoy your hobby. 😊

Most of these complaints are from people who don't really understand how difficult it is to create dials and cases on Seiko's level. Some of these Craftsmanship watches are extremely good looking, especially for the price. They look premium. I've had many compliments and 'looks' for the black lacquer dial model I own, including from people who have far more expensive watches. It punches well above its weight.

@@lamentate07 Absolutley, The finishing on my Seiko SPB383 is just as nice as my Breitling Premier B01. Seiko has just been a great value for so long that now when they raise prices everyone freaks out when really the pricing is more than fair.

It's sad that watches that look good cost over 1k+. amzwatch watches are REALLY well made, and it just shows how a brand name on a watch can make its price 10x higher. I understand that if you look under a microscope, you'll find the difference, but just how many of you really inspect a watch at that level when you see someone with a watch?

I am fortunate enough to have 2 of these Presages, one a black lacquer “urushi” dial and the other a white baked enamel dial, both JDM and have been awesome but Seiko has lost the plot with their prices.

If you have owned these watches, why are the prices crazy to you? Who makes lacquer dials for less? Those watches look premium and are superior to Swiss offerings at similar price points in terms of dial and case construction as well as finishing.

Pity they didn't use an automatic for the Pogue tribute. Great looking watch though but spoiled by that STUPID positioning of the angled date at 4.30. Once seen it cannot be unseen - YUCK!

I really love Seikos. But, Seiko needs to learn and get right at least a couple of things. Here are about 2 that I think watching your video. 1, as mentioned, update their bracelets and get them up to par. I can handle the bulk of the bracelets' build. But, the clasp is where the focus needs to be. Better quality with more adjustments, get rid of the stupid dive extension on the Prospex for something less cheap and less ugly looking and toll-free micro-adjust! 2, stop saying they have a Speedtimer reissue in reference to the "Pogue" of 6139 & 6138 references. The case design and dial layouts are completely different and the new "reissues" look nothing like them. Do a proper reissue that's more 1:1 and they could do so much better. That being said, I think the watch you talked about here is a closer reissue to a vintage quartz chronograph, the Seiko 7a28-7030. Look that one up and I think you will agree.

The bracelets on these watches are better than most Seiko ones. They are extremely comfortable. A friend of mine who only has Swiss switches tried my one on just the other night and said he was surprised how comfortable it was. My guess is this guy hasn't actually tried one of these watches on. They are nothing like the other Presages.

Seiko pricing is absolutely insane. If they were ⅓ of the price then they might be worth it but there are still other brands I'd pick over them.

I've seen you around and know you like Longines. I own Seiko and Longines watches, and I'm telling you that these 'insane' prices are justified for the Craftsmanship watches. Where are you going to get a lacquer or enamel dial like that for the price? If they were Swiss watches, they would cost thousands more. I'd much rather own a Seiko Presage Craftsmanship watch than a Longines or Tissot at similar price points.

The bracelets are better than the usual Seiko's, and the dials and overall finishing are far better than what Longines offers in the same price range (1300-1800 USD.). I own 3 Longines watchers, as well as more expensive ones that make Longines look budget by comparison, so I know what I'm talking about. Longines isn't worth bothering with under 2500 USD unless you want a classic dress watch.

The Seiko SPB445J1 may have an Arita porcelain dial, but at 40.5mm diameter x 12.4mm thick x 48.8mm lug-to-lug is far too big for a dress watch. And +25/-15 pd for a 3hz movement for $2k is a joke. If Seiko is going to do something like this it needs a better movement to match, not a 24-hr indicator, and call it a King Seiko. And, if it comes to it, if I want porcelain I’ll buy some Royal Crown Derby; a Titanic-pattern, fine bone china, 22ct gold, 11-inch dinner plate is £162.

I wouldn’t even consider paying over $500 for a 3hz movement. Power reserve is the biggest waste of specs. If you’re wearing it, it’s winding. Who cares what the reserve is. Seiko is out of their mind lately. They’re just lost.
