I love how the reporter had to brag about being his cousin, you can tell she is so proud. This man is living my dream, I can’t imagine how excited the little ones were to explore a real life ice castle
You cant have fun as a adult? Live now not later, if you work your ass off your entire life what are you gonna do when you cant move or do as much when you are 70? Of course have a balance of work and play.

This is what America is all about. So many different things to be VERY PROUD of as an American and as a human being. So many great people. Just people.💯👍
I don’t know what being proud of something has to do with being an American. People in every country are proud of things lmao. I’m an American btw I just really don’t know why you had to bring that into it.
@@BubbleBunnyy I brought up being proud to be an American because national pride is something valued by some. And why are you even responding to something (my opinion) you find so preposterous? If my opinion is something you don’t agree with then ignore my comment and proceed to enjoy your miserable life. FOH. I won’t respond to you again. 🔱✡️🌀
This man is not only a cool dude, but also very clever. Recreating a safe, proper dome is something that even troubled the architects of Rome (i didn't mean for that to rhyme).
I am glad to see something like this on the news. Sick of bad stuff. Tired of hearing about shootings, politics, bad this, terrible that, death, death, fear, fear, gloom and doom. This is a nice change.
Me and some friends made one of these in carpentersvill Illinois. Fox view apartments. Some project low income type place back in 95-96.. Basically hella tunnels. But we had big mountains of snow built up from the snow plows after a blizzard and like a week after it siiting there it melted a lil bit and we were able to dig through. It was pretty cool.
@Tah BOO they aren't saying that the dude needs help, they're saying they just want to help. And it isn't a dumb thing to report on, all the news nowadays is crazy and negative. It's one positive, fun report out of thousands of negative reports.

In extremely cold climates, an igloo could be a life saver. Inside could be 28 degrees; outside could be 40 degrees below zero. I'll gladly take the igloo.
I remember when we were kids living in Quebec y father would build us snow caves every year. My mom would give us old pieces of carpet and we’d spend HOURS out there. Very fond memories.
The problem is the world is judged by how much material stuff you have without material wealth you are judged as a failure but guess what everyone will take nothing to the grave with them not even a teaspoon, simple lifestyle is good but that is not what is taught unfortunately
Hey Conner.. let's not fill in n the blanks to this mans life that we know nothing about. Just try building an igloo and maybe it will cool your ass down. 😅
I design winter themed 'Ice Hotels' & let me just say I LOVE his enthusiasm. He's well on his way to crafting something (one day) that could be truly unique. God bless & take care. ☃
If it were a choice, people wouldn’t be doing it to survive. No, it’s nothing more than slave labor driven by the ever-dashed hope of “striking it rich” someday so that the madness can finally end for that one individual who got lucky.
@@ImaazeDa3th cousin or not, it made the news and black men need to be more appreciated because they work hard only to get left behind. This story made my soft but teared up by just seeing how creative he is. Love it!
I said this the other day while revisiting my childhood neighborhood, you don’t see hardly any kids playing in the snow anymore. We were building forts and igloos and having snowball wars for hours.
@@FirstLast-sw1gx I'm right wing and even I think you sound foolish. OP misunderstood the concept, idk why you had to ruin the mood by making this about politics.
@@ritagreenleaf3669 ikr. I'm pretty damn defensive when it comes to technology because I find it a hell of a lot more entertaining than being outside, plus I'm a little nervous and terrified of bugs, bees, and anything else that's tiny and flies or small, crawls, and has legs or more legs than necessary. Also with all the crap going on in this world, it's almost impossible to take a step outside without wanting to piss your pants and go back inside. But when it comes to stuff like this, I have a very difficult time in justifying my love for computer and Xbox games when I, as a human being, am capable of doing this. Hell, I want to go outside and make a freakin' bow and arrows to launch at the really tall Spruce Tree in the back of our side of the duplex.
The Inuit: We've been building igloos for centuries, it's our thing! This guy: *Bet* Love the spirit of embracing winter. As they say, bloom where you are planted. Very cool and inspiring.
I'm glad there are still people like this in the world. Everyone's always complaining about things but he really takes the time to just enjoy life for what it is, enjoying the snow!
Most people are like this in the world. The reason it doesn’t seem like it is because of social media. Most people don’t sit on their phones and argue about dumbass shit all day.
my sister and i spent 4 hours building a much smaller, one-room igloo and we could just barely both fit in it laying down... this is a whole new level of impressive
Same I did it in my back yard a couple weeks ago mine was about 6 ft tall and about 15 feet wide took about 2 days to create the pile then about a week later it was about 45 degrees and it melted lol
When I was a kid we used to just make tunnels under the snow and use the picnic tables for our forts, which we stocked with snowballs. Sometimes we'd take our sleds up on the roof of our grandparents' cabin and slide down, and a few times my grandpa let us sit on a huge mound of snow and he'd use the snow plow to push more snow into it, pushing us up higher and higher. 😄
@@BIGENSONLY damn that crazy I live in New York and didn't take advantage of the snow I got last year we had like 4 feet in total I built a big slide instead of an igloo this year I did both but in total of only 7 inch of snow the whole year a big let down so the slide was my main focus this year
Over a year ago, I built a small house from scratch in the woods, using nothing more than a hammer, nails, and discarded scrap wood. I was working on a second floor but fell off the roof and broke my wrist.🥴
@@NASCAR_Junk Oh dear. I hope your wrist is fine now. I learnt from my father that taking injuries to your joint when you're young can really affect you in your older years. He experiences soreness and ache every once in a while in his ankle which was twisted many years ago.
I grew up in Canton. When I was 8 years old I “discovered” the idea that an igloo could be built out of the snow. The following year there wasn’t much snow. And then I moved to Florida before the following winter so I never got to do it. Not gonna lie, I’m now 50 and I have never forgotten my dream of building an igloo and have ALWAYS wanted to do this! (He’s right, you can’t have that in Florida.) It’s pretty cool to see this man living my dream. 👍🏽
@@Machine311 Hello. I had a great aunt that lived in Alliance. Seriously, the igloo thing has been a lifelong regret about moving away when I did. That and not being able to get any Pizza Oven pizza.
Well the feeling of it collapsing on you is a lot like the feeling of digging a hole in the sand on the beach and it caving in on you. So there's that. Just dig an igloo like that on the beach out of sand, when it caves in on you and buries you alive, you can enjoy the "whole experience". 😉 it won't be the cold that kills ya, it will be the weight and inability to breathe long before the cold gets ya.
Did you also know that they used to keep blocks of ice (cut from the lake) in sawdust and they would stay frozen right through to the following summer? The iceman cometh!
I can remember being 8-10 years old. Massive ❄snow❄storm hits, off school for a ❄snow❄ day! Spending the morning preparing the yard. Making a "mountain" of snow, then the digging. I made a one room, maybe 2 room "shack" but the roof always caved in. I made some ok ones but this? THIS IS EPIC!
Well some people can’t afford to even survive, let alone pursue their hobbies. It’s sad, but it’s true. We all need to make a living at the end of the day.
I grew up in a row home in Philly. Every year we had snow the kids in the neighborhood hood would build a small igloo at the curb. At night we would pour some water in it to freeze it more. This was back in the 50’s & 60’s. Still remember how much fun we had just sitting inside.
I love when people don’t lose their childhood spark. I always wanted to do this as a kid but there was never enough snow when I was growing up thanks to the unseasonably warm winters.
@@DOOMJESUS sure im gonna quit my job, say fuck you to money, and move up north to build an igloo. fuckin genius never though of that as an option before
I'm right there with this guy! I used to go out in the snow and stay for hours. No snow pants and soaked acrylic gloves, I built more forts and tunnels than a kid should be allowed to do. We loved it. But those huge snowstorms that kept the snow around for 4 weeks or more, are long gone from suburban New York.
When I was in the Air Force, stationed near Fairbanks, Alaska, many of us took Winter Survival Training and built several shelters, yet nothing was as elegant as this! Our base Commander didn't have it this good. LOL! Well done, Sir!

This is awesome. My dad’s an engineer and when I was like 5 or 6 he built me an igloo that me and him could fully climb into, which was awesome since we barely ever got snow.
Me and my late husband built an igloo back in 82 when our daughter was a baby and we all 3 got inside of it and it was blistering cold outside but inside of the igloo was so warm.i thought it was so awesome ❤️
Well if the choice was rooting for the local NFL team or building an igloo, I too would choose the latter if I was in Cleveland 💀 Nice to see someone living their dreams. Dream your own dreams, achieve your own goals. Your journey is your own and unique.
If I was a neighbor I would bring some adult beverages for all of us to sit around inside the igloo & chat. Every neighborhood has a fun neighbor & this is it! Very creative.
Fellow Buckeye here and my youngest son loves to design in the snow, with popsicle sticks, bamboo straws, legos, cardboard….anything he can get his hands on!
There's so much to do you have to learn to dress right first which people do not understand either. You can snowmobile, ski, snowboard, snowshoe, ice fish everyone complaining is sitting inside watching TV or playing video games.
all unrighteousness is sin and all of us have sinned against the Holy God, and so we all deserve eternal damnation in hell. we could not get right with God by our act of "Good works," nothing by own our righteousness we could do to could save us. which is why there is the "Good news/ Gospel" The debt we couldn't pay, CHRIST payed for us on the cross. we broke the law/ GOD'S commandments, and CHRIST JESUS payed the fine. Only through CHRIST we can be saved, whosoever believes and is baptized with the Spirit shall be saved. and this good news is for everyone, no matter what religion, no matter what sin, Jesus came to save us from them so we could be brought back into relationship with God, and be saved..amen ..
@Logia SD When I lived Maine, I just got up a little earlier to clear the snow. I work also. And after work, I still had afternoons and weekends. Perhaps you are so focused on despising it, that you don't stop to enjoy it.
I grew up in Boston and in 2003 we had a blizzard. The neighborhood boys and I talked the snowplow guy to plow us a huge pile in our churches parking lot. We spent all day and made a huge fort that five of us could fit in! It was so much fun.
He's inspired many. I've seen several around our town. So I'm guessing they may have seen this man's amazing snow house. It seems easier than building from ground up. My kids and I get only 2 rows up and we get bored or burned out. So this could be our next solution it snows.
WE BUILT ONE THESE!!!! WEN WE WERE 15yr!!!! We went around getting snow from other yards!! Started By Puttin a trash can on the ground covered it made a mound as big as his right here!!! And we dug it out and kept throwing it on top!!! Never Caved In!!! Lasted All Winter An Was Wammer Inside!! I'm 6'4 I was 6'1 At The Time I was able to stand up and walk all around in it!! Our friends grandma was going to call the news now I wish she would have seeing this!!! I'm Shareing This With the People I Built One With!!
This literally made me smile so hard. 😁 It's incredibly REFRESHING to see people out here lighthearted and living their best and simple lives. We love and NEED to see it! Go Blake!👍🏾And big ups to the news squad and his reporter cousin! We need more of you. 😊
@James Crockett hey racist, go away, your doing exactly what people complain about you guys doing. be normal and stop trying to blame groups for your own wrong doings. Its only embarrassing for you guys at the end of the day
If you read the History of the Eskimo by Fuchs ( it's been decades but I think his first name was Hillary, but not sure), an igloo is made only when the right type of snow has fallen in order for it to hold up. Then a thumbsize hole is made at top center to let the heat escape which is produced by 2 oil lamps placed on opposite sides, caribou hides cover the walls as also the 2 raised snow beds on opposite sides and the temperature reaches a blazing hot 60° F inside ( I lived in California in winter with no heat for 7 years and the nights averaged 50-52°F in the house). The entrance to an igloo is sloped downward and then upward to prevent the cold Arctic wind from coming full force inside but is open for ventilation. I am amazed at your creation. It is beautiful inside. Hope it stays cold so you can add to it and then make another video.
