I fish Louisville, New Albany area and have a honey hole but for about three yrs I've caught almost nothing. I think the Asian carp have caused all the bait fish to die off. I haven't seen a school of shad in about three yrs. Any thoughts on this ?

for me aside from your ocean salmon and steelhead, cod, halibut, snapper and flounder catfish has to be my second favorite freshwater fish next to freshwater winter steelhead trout, GOOD trout, thing about catfish it can live in muddy murky water and not inherit the taste of dirt whereas rainbow if its living in stagnate muddy water it tastes like it.. I can dig me some catfish, bite sized chunks, rolled in cornmeal and deep fried in vegetable oil or lard, HOLY FUGG! mice Aloi dipping sauce, i'll eat it floured and fried in butter too.. fugg yes! couple frog legs, some gator skewers.. bowl a seafood Ciapino or Jambalaya, File' Gumbo.. hale to the yes!
