This is a good experience for young people, especially if they're enlisting in the military. In my basic training platoon at Ft. Jackson, the ones that did clearly had a jump on the rest of us.
@@ThePursuitofHappiness1988 Yes, several times. I had my basic at C-7-2, Hollywood Barracks near the main PX. Last I heard, those were AIT barracks. When I was in the reserves, I trained there when I was mobilized for Iraq in 2007. I also had some MOS training for Finance in 2008. After that, I was honorably discharged, ETS.
