This is an Ohsnap! three Pro review. I’ve owned all the versions of on snap and I have to say this is probably the best one. It’s very thin, very functional and makes your phone or case MagSafe compatible. If you enjoy this video, please leave it like and consider subscribing.

Great review, I wanna give an update on the 3.0. I've had mine for 8 months and it has broken. The plastic hinges are actually still going strong, but if you have a 3.0, you'll see that the plastic hinges are attached to 2 panels that in turn are glued to the center plate that pops out. The panels are coming unglued from the center plate. In addition, I've found that I tend to hook a finger under the edge of the center plate to pop it out. Over time, because that plate is so thin, a hairline crack has started to develop on the center. Overall, I love that the 3.0 is so much thinner and doesn't need a separate metal ring to attach. But the plastic feels and is too cheap and flimsy. Advantages of the 1.0 is more durable materials and ease of use. I can just slide my fingers into the rubber loop (one-handed) instead of potentially using 1 hand to hold my phone while another hand pops open the back plate. And then I actually have to use my fingers to grip it instead of them being held in place with the rubber band. Overall, if they could combine the one-handed usability and materials from 1.0 with the lightness of the 3.0, we'd have a refined product on our hands

The first one wouldn’t work; got it from a kickstarter. Black finger loop wouldn’t snap back into place. Replaced once and it still sucked. Now I’m wondering about the 3 because I have a new phone. Ugh.

I don't like that they went with the PoP design. I did like that you could slide a finger through to hold your phone like with the 2.0. Wish they still offered it

I’ve had 3.0 for about a week and I think it feels cheap, like the legs can break any time and I’m disappointed. I’m gonna stick with it until it breaks but then I think I’ll move on to another option. I too have been with them since 1.0 and while I love their innovation and thinking, the final product needs to feel more premium. I just don’t trust it in the long run. If I had to rate it out of 10, I’d say it’s a 6.8 out of 10. Update 1/30/2023: Oh Snap 3.0 still holding strong. I even got a new case, was able to easily remove and reapply to new case. I’m concerned on how long the little snap-button will last over time. Still is fine but I wonder if it’ll wear down to the point where it’ll no long lock in closed position when flattened. But as of now, it’s still working from day 1.

I too want to see how long one of these things last. I think their innovation with each product gets better, but the overall quality, unfortunately, gets cheaper with each iteration. They just have so much functionality especially without having to remove the grip; but I agree they need to upgrade the quality

I'm my opinion I wish they still sold the 1.5 version because it had a strong magnet and it felt really good I wish I could get that one again. The 2.0 felt cheap and the magnet was super weak. The newer one looks like crap it seems like they are down grading Edit: I just found out I can buy the 1.5 that's a bet!!

How strong is the connection when the snap 3 pro is used with a magnet-equipped MagSafe case? Also how strong does this stick to metallic surfaces?

I've been with them since the beginning as well. I do like the 1.5 version the best. Ohsnap is very good about sending out replacement grips when the bands give out. I have been using the Ohsnap 3 Pro for about a week. I don't know whether I really like it as much. Yes it's thin, but it feels cheaper. I also bought the car mount kit and to me the magnet doesn't seem as strong. The older version really latched on. I typically use the grip with one finger through the middle and I don't really like how it works with this version. Maybe it will grow on me but I'm disappointed that everything together cost me over $60. I guess time will tell on how durable it is.
@camcar6
@camcar6 Год назад
Yeah I’d try getting used to holding it with two fingers on the outside, it takes some getting used to. I got in with the preorder so mine only costs $25. Their warranty is really good too.

Mine broke within a week already. I had issues where it will unstick from my phone and sticks to my magsafe car charger. Which is nice to know the magnets are strong. But it's an on going issue. Just wish there was just a magsafe version only. I would buy that. I expressed how I felt about the new grip on their Instagram and they blocked me. I'm done supporting this company.
@camcar6
@camcar6 Год назад
If that’s the case, I would recommend using the sticky tape on the back of the grip for a more firm stick seal. They advertise that it works with MagSafe, but MagSafe it’s only so strong.
@darkaznblo0d
@darkaznblo0d Год назад
@@camcar6 honestly I’m ok. I’ve just been using my MagSafe popsocket when I know I need to use it. I can take it off and put it somewhere in my car when I drive and put my phone on the MagSafe car mount. And slap it back on when I leave. A bit more work but it’s better than having the grip stick to the car mount then I have to pry it off then slap it back on my phone. Had the same issue with the 2.0
@MInislimi123
@MInislimi123 Год назад
I gotta be honest, the 2.0 is actually pretty nice. Sure you’re broke in 3 days, but I’ve had one on my phone right now that’s lasted 4 months now. The convenience of the 2.0 being mag safe compatible is just great and I love the look. I honestly very upset with the 3.0. The could have used this hinge design and kept the bar, the bar made it way more stable when using it as a kick stand
@camcar6
@camcar6 Год назад
I totally understand what you’re saying. I think they were trying to go with the PopSocket look considering that’s their biggest rival. The problem was the silicon band. It was not as sturdy as the 1.5 and both versions the band would snap leading to refunds, returns, and upset customers. I think this new version fixes the older version’s problems

I've gone through 4 2.0's... This last one lasted me 6 months, but it's ripped too.
@camcar6
@camcar6 Год назад
@@fromz2shiningz again the problem with the silicone bands is through sweat, dirt, water, anything that gets on the band prepares it for disintegration. With the new hinge design, it’s much more durable only breaking to the amount of force you’re using.
@idahmad208
@idahmad208 Год назад
I think the 2.0 version is the best but it's not durable and the magnet is okay. I did not like the stretched band in the 1.0 version. My 2.0 band mostly torn with little portion hanging on 😂 and yet it goes back to place every time not like the dangling 1.0 band.

Idk how everyone breaks it, I had my first one (1.5 as you call it) for over a year, almost a year and a half and it only broke because I dropped my phone and it cracked the top plastic, band was still in tact, my second one has been going strong since and my 3.0 is coming in today

The grip will not work all cases, and in fact 90% of the cases you will try won't work. Gluck contacting the company to get a list of compatible cases, because they don't have one. They told me to just not use a case with their grip. Worthless and no way to return even though this is false advertising (since they say it works with cases). All I want is to know which cases work. Not even reddit can help here as every thread eventually concludes that all cases users have tried do not work.
@camcar6
@camcar6 Год назад
#1 The grip will 100% work on MagSafe compatible cases. Meaning the case has magnets in the back to attach MagSafe accessories. The grip will attach to the case without using the adhesive instead using MagSafe in the magnets inside the grip. (Or both for a stronger stick) #2 as you said, the grip will adhere to any naked phone either using MagSafe or that sticky adhesive. The only thing I would say when trying to stick it to a case is the case should be flat and smooth. The case should not have any ridges or texture. Otherwise it will not adhere fully and probably pop off. Obviously cases that are material such as leather and rubber will probably not work as well. You want a flat hard surface to stick it on. If you are unhappy here is the link for a money back return within 30 days: support.ohsnap.com/hc/en-us/articles/360049170211-Exchanges-and-Returns

I was thinking of getting this. Mostly because of it's thin profile. I'm new to the popsocket trend. Currently have the PopSockets MagSafe PopGrip. I'm liking popsockets, very useful. But it's thick. Keeps getting caught in my back pant pocket. Putting in and taking out. Annoying. So I just use it at home. Then saw this Ohsnap 3 Pro on my IG feed. I'm glad I came across your review. I was wondering if it attached magnetically, or required some sort of adhesive to attach to the phone. It's unfortunate to find out, this only attaches to the phone via adhesive. I have an iPhone 14 Pro, and use a Magsafe case. It has a textured back. And I don't think the adhesive on the ohsnap 3 pro will stick securely, and/or for long on my case. And I like my case. Wouldn't trade it for something else, just to get the ohsnap 3. You'd think the magnet ring would work both sides. As I've heard you can stick your phone on a fridge with no issues. That it would just snap on like other magnetic popsockets. My current one, snaps right over my case. And it's solid. It's just too thick for me to carry around, with it on my phone.
@camcar6
@camcar6 Год назад
The OhSNAP 3 pro does work with magsafe but the magnetic pull is quite weak. You could probably try it but it’ll more than likely slide off and you wouldn’t get the added benefit of the magnet in the product (because like I said, the magnetic pull is quite weak and your phone is heavy) It’s up to you, but if I was you, I just buy another case that doesn’t have MagSafe because like I said, this grip makes your phone or a case MagSafe and stick it on the correct way. You might as well just try it out and if it doesn’t stick to your case well you can always get your money back.

As someone else who’s also been here since the beginning, and as someone that works 80m in the air in a metal box, I really really rely on the magnets. With that said, on the 3.0 they’re not half as strong as the “1.5” and that really upsets me. ☹️
