I was sent a set of Ohuhu Honolulu alcohol markers, Ohuhu fine liners and a marker sketchbook to try out.
I am essentially a beginner when it comes to alcohol markers and I had to do a little research myself on RU-vid when it came to drawing and coloring with them. I will link some videos I found helpful as well as the coupon codes Ohuhu sent me below for anyone interested.
All views in this video are my own, the reason I agreed to this one was that I was given full creative rein, and I have tried my best to give my honest perspective as a beginner.
Whether or not you are into alcohol markers, hopefully, there may be some ideas that can extend to the marker supplies you have, or for your sketchbook.

I have these markers and the sketchbook collecting dust… you’re inspiring me to get them out and try again. I hate not using supplies that I paid good money for. I think I might go the sketch then marker route as well. Thanks for a great video

They use those alcohol markers a lot for storyboards in advertising. Make sure they are the non toxic variety. Remember my Dad used them on tracing paper, mylar and shiny surface boards for water colour effects when he worked as an illustrator in an advertising agency.

My dad was a design and tech teacher and I recall he had a few , they won’t replace my favorite mediums but they are fun and I will use them

Oooh, im so excited for this video, i have the ohuhu markers too. As it turns out, i actually quite like the ink bleeding through onto the next page, i like that effect. But when I don't want the bleed through then I will use them on thicker paper. Thanks for the upload Sonia❤😊

I just loved the abstract work you were able to do with these. I have a set, though not as big, and only tested them, never liked the bleed through. You would think that the marker sketchbooks would be thick enough to not have the bleed through, that’s why I purchased those but they aren’t, weird! But I’m thinking that I could probably just collage on the back of the page to hide that and to get use out of both sides of the paper and finally start using those markers. Thanks Sonia for another great video. 💓

I was a little surprised re bleed through in the sketchbook too- thats a great idea re collaging over the back , got some cheap cardstock to experiment on so could stick that on the back, it might end up a bulking sketchbook

I have the Ohuhu fineliners and I like those, but don't think alcohol markers are for me since I use mostly cheaper (thin) paper. Thanks for including your kids work -- it's such a great activity (especially to get away from computer screens!)

I can see now paper is an important issue with these markers so get they really aren’t going to be for everyone- definitely suit some of the styles the kids are into - anime , gaming and comic book characters, and yes it is hard to balance screen time .

Glad you did this review as its made me look at my copics again! I loved the effect you got on the abstracts - really beautiful . I have used a paper by crescent rendr which has no bleed through- pricey sketchbooks though but nice as you can use both sides so in Some ways better value? These markers look just as good as the copics tbh - keep up the good work Sonia ❤
