This video I go over oil change instructions for a 2017 VW Jetta GLI. This should apply for quite a few other Volkswagen and Audi products as well. I am using Liqui Moly 5w-40 oil, a Mann oil filter, and a magnetic drain plug. Please like and subscribe so I can keep this content coming. Thanks for watching!

I haven't changed oil since buying my new Jetta but the included maintenance plan has now expired so it's time for me to take over that maintenance. I've never worked on a German car before so I appreciate your video. I have the very same car and I love it!

Love my white stage 2 mk6.5 its dsg but a blast to drive. Changing my oil tomorrow always worth doing. I stripped and swapped out the stupid torx drain plug the first time I serviced mine.

Great video. I’m interested in cleaning my MAP and/or MAF sensor, where are these located? I cleaned the sensor right in front of the manifold, I believe that’s the MAP but is there a MAF as well and if so where is it located?

Good news! You don’t have a MAF meter if you have the same car that is in the video. If you do have a MAF, it would be right past the air cleaner box, and it would be noticeable. MAP sensors don’t normally need cleaning as well. Thanks for watching!

Is there a torque value for the factory drain plug? I can't find anything in the owner's manual that indicates what the torque should be. 2017 Jetta GLI 2.0 TSI.

Do you have to replace the crush washer on that drain plug every time or the drain plug itself?

You can use the factory washer. I replace it every oil change. I think they are like 25 cents at the dealer. I have a bag of them in my toolbox.

This oil also meets the current standard for VW in the US.

Josh Snyder many people have their preferences, but as long as it meets the requirements of VW, you should be good to go.

Im having random misfire and then p0011 and sometimes p0013 . It never reads the same now im starting to think its the oil . Becouse all this happend after i took it to change

Mine take a little more that 5.5L to get it to that full mark on the dip stick.

Why do ppl that change oil on these switch out the drain plug??? whats wrong with the factory one?

Nothing is wrong with the factory plug, but the one I use here has a magnet on it which can pick up metal particles before they cause further issues. It is optional, but I run one on everything I own. It’s just cheap insurance more or less.
