there is technically a big problem in the recipe .. you didn't dried roast the spices, that bring the flavor and the aroma out. Rather you just boiled the spices. Anyways it your style Cheers !!!

Oh my god.i can't even imagine jaggery in fish curry...i like it spicy.i wl tell u how to make Kerala coconut fish curry.first of all put coconut oil then add curry leaves ,sliced onion(little),green chilly ,ginger and garlic,little curry leaves.then reduce the flame and add salt ,turmeric powder and chillipowder.then fry it for a while and then add turmeric water and tomatoes.when it is cooked add fish to it.when fish is almost cooked add coconut paste (grinded in grinder) and then at last add little coconut oil n curry leaves.its so tasty
So is Soyabin oil! 😊 The thing is this curry is not oil free as it is proclaimed. And yes! Any vegetable oil is certainly good for health as it decreases cholesterol level in plasma. But one cup of grinded coconut oil is no different from one cup of soyabin oil. Unless you want some extra fibre & potassium. Well in that case..soyabins can also be grinded. It will provide you not only fibres but also Vitamin A which is so much better than potassium 😌
The best oil free preparation goes best with Indian major carb fish(katla maach) rossella leaves with very little ingredients like a pinch of turmeric powder, fish sauce,spring onions and a bunch of spiny coriander leaves.

This recipe is to same like a common sri lankan fish curry. I am the srilankan. We re not added juggury powder. But another all ingredients , we re added.🇱🇰
No ma'am we manglorians..actually cook fish and even chicken without adding oil because coconut itself has its inbuilt oil in it...and even fish and chicken both have their oil too...so no need of extra oil and it really tastes good...you can try it ones

In Bihar too we don't make fish curry or chicken mutton without mustard oil...in chicken or mutton we additionally add ghee but my mom often says that we are used to eat spicy and mustard oil is perfect for any such thing.... coconut or olive oil will never give us that satisfaction in any non veg or other spicy hot veg
There are many fish which are not meant for frying because as soon as you'll fry them it'll break so they are directly cooked and don't worry it tastes good trust me 💖
