I have a 2012 hyundai 122000 mi and I'm in south Texas (100+ farenheit temps) the cap says 5-20 and that's what they put (first change with me as owner) but my light keeps coming on turning and braking. Is it maybe a bit too thin? It's synthetic.
@@froy204 change engine oil pump, and check. Sometimes it occurs due to fault in both oil switch and pump, you have already changed one, now change oil pump too
Mines comes on but it goes away and when I turn my car on it's not on it's randomly when it does it so I think my oil pressure sensor it's bad like it doesn't stays on while driving it while driving it comes on goes away
@@cartechhome well I changed the oil pressure sensor on April n it barley started doing the light thing but it never stays on just pops on n then goes away I think the oil pressure sensor it's bad cause it has oil
@@kittyjessica4943 yup if the oil pan is PARTIALLY clogged it wi not stay on, but sometimes on. If it is clogged it will stay on. If the pump is FAILING or is about to fail same will happen to the warning light it will be on during the time the pump is failing and will go off when the pump function, but if the pump fails or completely fail the warning light will stay on.
I did an oil change on my '09 VW Beetle. Because of minor oil leaks I used an oil additive in place of one of the 6.3 quarts needed for an oil and filter change. I've used the additive before. The next morning I started it up, heard a brief clattering noise, then the oil light began flashing and beeping. What did I do?
I had problem with p06de code spent fortune on all types off new sensors, ready to replace oil pump when a garage in salfird told me to get sump pan cleaned and change the filter on oil pick up pipe, cost me £85 pound and bingo it worked, my 2018 insignia runs like a new car and no warning light.
I have a 2010 Ford Edge and my oil has been changed . A month later the same problem with the oil light comes on but it only comes on when I stop at a light or am parked. While driving the oil light does not come on.

Well, my oil light came on in my 2004 Durango and I had no choice but to drive back home to the country about 30 miles, would this then be the oil sensor because the engine did not seize? I will add, after watching other videos on the matter, it seems it's not the oil pump that's the main cause but it's more frequently the oil pressure sensor.
Use a thicker oil. You probably have high miles and need to bring the oil pressure up. A thicker weight oil will help. If you use 5/20 go to 5/30 or 10/30
If you come to a stop or red light your idle goes down to where your oil light comes means your losing oil pressure in the engine. The sensor will light up on the dash. Use a high mileage heavier weight oil. 10/30 will be fine. Also the high mileage oil has conditioners in it to rejuvenate the seals. The high mileage oil also can swell the gaskets slightly to help build pressure. Good luck
@@arthursmith643 I changed the oil pressure sensor and that took care of it, but thanks for the heads up on the oil weights, I'll check it out, I use 5/30 so I'll try using the 10/30, I've got about 165000 miles on it.
I drive a 2011 crv. Light comes on only when car is cold and usually when coasting. Light only stays on for 1-5 seconds then goes away. When it's on the engine does make a rattling noise. But then it goes away shortly. Not sure what the problem is.
my oil light came on even after disconnecting oil sending unit and the manual gauge showed me good oil 62 psi. I think i may have electrical Gremlins. anybody have any idea 2002 toyota echo.
I had my pressure switch changed and thought id cured the problem, warning only comes on when warm and idling. After a few days is happening again. Anyone know what that could indicate? Id already had an oil and filter change.
Im using dmax 2007, everytime i start my car…the light will on, when i step on my pedal oil, it will go off…but if i dont step on my pedal oil it will go on again…but after driving about 20-30 minutes it will go off…please help me…i just changed my head engine and oil pump…it took me MYR8000 already
Warning light meaning differs on every model, it is normal that the warning light on the dash will turn on for a few second and then goes out after starting, refer to your car owner's manual it has a lot of information about warning-light specific to your car model. thank you for watching.
No overheating is usually low coolant thermostat water pump or even a slipping timing belt. If your vehicle has a timing belt change it every hundred thousand miles.
Will not tightening the oil pressure switch all the way make the oil pressure light keep coming on. It's not leaking but I couldn't tighten it all the way because the socket was too long. I need a shorter one.
