Dude... you are my hero! Thank you so much. I just gave up for the day and came inside. Now I know what to do tomorrow when I attack this beast again. Thank you!
You are our HERO!!!! THANK YOU! I was ready to quit and throw the whole car in the trash lol. Soooo many videos on the sensor and not one single one on how to get it apart
God bless you for sharing this video. I was 3 hours last night trying to remove the plug. I found this video and showed it to my son and in less than 5 minutes tonight he had it off.
40 assholes didn't like your video.. I think this is one of the greatest videos ever made.. it shows exactly what to do and this is the part that nobody else is able to show or haven't thought about showing.. you sir are amazing and I'm eternally grateful 🙏
Sweating it out in 100 degree heat here in AZ, after an hour messing with this 1 sensor, I gave up. Cooled off and got some lemonade, watched this video, cried a little and turned into 15 min job. Thanks a bunch.
dude I've been at this today for 4 maybe 6 hours no other videos clearing explain this like you do. no one else says push the tab in they all say down.... you have no idea how releived I am that I found your video and got this off. but before I found this I broke the grey tab off lol
You are a saint!!! We could get the grey clip up but for the life of us we COULD NOT figure out how to take the rest off!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽 thank you!!! After watching your video it took me less than a minute, had I seen the video first it would have saved me about 45!!
I want to thank you SO much for this very enlightening video! I spent an hour trying to get that thing unplugged but to no avail, and it would've NEVER come off had I not seen you show me how it's done. So easy once you know how, huh?! Lol
After struggling with this for almost 3 hours, and I was just about to rip the sensor out, and I Found this video, if you are ever in Montana, I owe you countless beers
This is the most important video on RU-vid for changing this sensor, my 2010 chevy tahoe has same clip. I could not have done it without the video. Thank you. After you change the sensor disconnect the battery to reset computer.
Thank you!! 2012 Escalade oil pressure sensor replacement made possible by a little "how to" on the wire cap removal!! Unbelievable how important this part is when you can't see the darn thing! All the best
Thank You for your video, If it wasn’t for you showing me how to release the cap I still would have been at Witt’s End. Finally I was able to Fix my 2009 Chevy Suburban. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the connector my 2012 Sierra 5.3 had. I had been working for over an hour trying to disconnect but could not see it well enough to know how it worked. Many thanks for you post.
Add me to the list!! This was the most important part of replacing the sensor... No one else gave this very important information. In totality you have probably saved all of us over a hundred thousand dollars... This is no joke... and on a side note... I bent a tiny fishing hook and used it on a fishing line to get the screen out and it took two seconds... Once again, you are our hero in this video!!
I watched over a dozen sender replacement videos and yours is the only one that explained this!! (I spent over an hour getting frustrated trying to figure this out) thanks for the clarity!!
I have owned various vehicles but back in the day, I don't recall such an idiotic place and hassle to R&R a sending unit or sensor as I did 3/4/2022 on my 2009 Chevy Avalanche. Granted I/we have taken off various clip type plugs in our past but what a freaking hassle it was to not just get to the sensor but to get the Blankeyt-blank connector off. Some users indicate removing the white clip to dislodge the connector. Others don't say how to do it short of squeezing but I literally modified the plastic in front of the sensor to see the sensor by removing material. The white clip was visible and removing it was done a half dozen times before I came inside and found your video. Bless your heart and a boon to the community for showing what you did. I will add though...in the end I had removed the white clip and left if off for tightening down the new sensor did not align as the prior one for easier access to the clip. The socket still clips in to place and will debate whether it'll dislodge or not. I or someone else can easily work on the sensor now and hopefully I can pass along similar info. Again, thanks!
Thank you, this just saved me a lot of time and trouble. I have big hands and was considering driving to repair shop. Worked perfect for 2011 yukon xl, just removed evap line, disconnected lower end of pcv hose and relocated, disconnect brake vacuum booster hose from booster and relocated it, Used 27 mm deep well socket with 4 inch extension and universal joint at top of extension, Thank you
Thanks for the excellent video. You clarified it completely Sir. I could not get the clip off my 2011 Sierra, had to walk away from it frustrated, cause I'm not an idiot. Now I will try again soon. Hopefully now I'll be able to remove it.
Very helpful. I'm about to change mine on my 2012 Yukon. It's essentially the same type of clip/release on many other connectors/harnesses. Having the visual will help with feeling it blindly. Thanks!
Philip gets LEGENDARY status....I liked, and appreciate all the videos on this from other posts...but........The hardest part of the job, is the 2 step clip removal....not the sockets, or hoses.........Thank You, I spent an hour or so working through this. I didnt want to break a clip. I had the Grey "Safety Clip" pulled and did not know if I should squeeze the blue clip? Im ready to do the deal, after this post. Thank you Sir...
life savers you guys are!.. i used a dental tool from walmart to get the filter out. worked perfect! the hardest part was getting the connector off.. just remember to squeeze the top to release after you pull the the guard up., there’s a video on the connector in the same search results :)
A 3/8" lag scew or bolt in like 4-6" length works as well. Stick down in the hole where sensor was give it a half turn or so to engage the plastic frame of filter and pull right out!
I spent DAYS TRYING to get that suckered out... and after watching your video tool me 5 minutes.. I would be paying someone if it wasn't for you. I truly deeply appreciate you. Thanks 🙏
Thank you thank you thank you to save me hours of pain after watching this video I was able to go out and get that connector right off thank you again for taking the time to do this
Thx. Definitely saved me from breaking it. I Got the retainer pulled up then decided to take a break and found this. Mine took a little more force pushing in the tab.
Thank you!!! Like most connectors, if you can see how they work they are easy to take apart. In the case of the 6.0 Escalade sight and ability to reach the connector is VERY limited. Your video will be a tremendous help. Thank you again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for your troubles. I wish to make some additional comments. I used a couple of Hook picks in order to lift the clip and gently remove the clip from the connector. It takes some long and short picks to do this and lots of patents. Especially in such a small tight space. This is what worked for me and I hope this can help you as well. Good luck. Patients is the key.
Thank you thank you thank you! Lol I have not done mine just yet I’m dreading the laying on top of the motor etc but I have watched videos of the process and now I am about ready to attempt it except for the finger screen thing to pick it out or leave the old one in !
