Operated on behalf of Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL), these specially adapted Boeing 727s can deploy anywhere in the world in the event of a major oil spill. Their mission is to spray dispersant material to break down oil slicks into smaller, less harmful droplets, minimizing environmental and economic damage.
Modifications: The Boeing 727s contain seven tanks that hold almost 4,000 gallons of dispersant. These dispersants facilitate biodegradation and reduce the impact of spills on people, habitats, and natural resources near shorelines.
