Plain and simple Chris Darden and Marcia Clark were outclassed by Simpson's attorneys. It was like watching a little league team play the New York Yankees
The prosecution did a fine job minus a few blunders. The jury were unintelligent, racists who wouldn’t have convicted OJ even if there was video evidence.
@Mohamed Ali THEY JUST GOT OUT LAWYERED! PLAIN AND SIMPLE, NOTICE THEY ALL RETIRED, BECAME MULTI MILLIONAIRES! EVERYONE EXCEPT JUDGE IDO,, WHAT A BOOK HE COULD WRITE!
It wasn't race, it was the prosecution being horrible, and Fuhrman pleading the fifth on if he ever planted evidence. Reasonable doubt all day long after that.
I followed the OJ trial from start to finish, and all these years later I still remember one crucial thing; Christopher Darden had the SHINIEST head I'd ever seen.
He made some mistakes but the jury wanted payback for R. King , all they needed was a tiny piece of doubt to make an excuse for an acquittal . Also mark furham pleading the 5th was huge mistake along with the tapes of him being a racist .
Nah, it was 100% Fuhrman pleading the fifth, AND Marcia not even using a LOT of the evidence they had at their disposal. Two of the jurors said had Marcia used a lot of what was used in the civil trial they'd have went guilty.
What part of what i said refutes your argument ? Did I say the prosecution did a good job no I didn’t . But they were fucked from the start with the jury selection that didn’t help at all . If you wanna be technical Chris Darden was the weak link . He made a ton of mistakes one being to let OJ trying on the glove
@@Shabnation Nah Marcia was 100% the weak link. Darden himself said they should have used absolutely every bit of evidence they had, but she STILL defends not using much of it.
maxx dahl they were deemed from the Start . Ojs defense was too good , I’m not saying Marcia did a good job but the combination of both of them and mark screwed it all uo
@@Shabnation Deemed from the start is a cop out. I will give Darden this, he owns up to their mistakes while Marcia pretty much sees it as they did nothing wrong in their handling of the case.
Go back and watch the verdict, Robert Kardashian's face shows he thought O.J. was guilty and would be found guilty. His face shows complete disbelief in the acquittal.
@@mikenagy9408 Have you seen the video. For every question he plead the fifth. When asked are you going to use fifth in every question asked he said yes. And the last question was have you planted any evidence he again plead the fifth.
@@alokmishra3915 He plead the fifth because of the tapes that surfaced, where he did use the ''N'' word. In earlier testimony, he stated that he had not used that term in regards to any individual,in the previous ten years. On the tapes, he used the term to describe African Americans in general, with that term. Once you invoke the fifth you must then answer ALL following questions in the same manner, or you lose the right to plead the fifth. And you can then be ordered by the judge,to answer the questions,or be found in contempt. So,his pleading the fifth to questions of whether he planted evidence was at that point meaningless. His main reason for pleading the fifth in the first place, was because of the discovery of the tapes.Which,if you recall were made for the purposes of a possible screenplay, for a movie that was being developed at the time they were made. And yes,I saw the video. And I also knew the context of his testimony.
Chayil Henderson the jury already made up they're mind's about letting him go.All that was going on in LA at the time of the trial, made for a perfect storm.
Nothing NEW revealed here. Waste of time! Oh, and years later he's starting to wonder if he was chosen for his race? Still clueless after all these years.
Walter Samuel I'm not from America and I'm fascinated with OJ Simpson's case because it's a story that is do incredible on so many levels that no writer could have made it up. Even though I believe he's 100% guilty and he'll publicly confess at some point before he dies, I still have some sympathy for him because of his natural charisma and the peculiarities of the whole story. Case remains memorable mostly because OJ was a celebrity, if not an icon.
Walter Samuel - You are absolutely stupid !!. The socialite had a history of domestic abuse , ran from the police , and had a hand picked jury , with the best lawyers that money could buy . How many people of any complexion would be grated the same benefits even in 2019 ???????????. Plus . how prejudice did OJ himself think that The United States Of America was while he made millions of dollars , lived in mansions and could date and marry a Woman of any color !!.
why not have o.j hold his hand out and let someone else put the glove on ! Of course the murderer is going to act like it doesn't fit ...extreme bonehead move on Dardens' part.
Looked heard the gloves did not fit they were not OJ's they were planted there by racist supremacist Pig Mark Fuhrman and it was Ron Goldman's gay lover then went there and killed them get that through your thick skull
yes a rubber glove which will not permit the leather glove to slip onto the hands of OJ.....the leather gloves adheres to the rubber and is pretty much stable and will not move why could the jury, the judge and defense not see this...? .....
That's why I love Chris Darden,"I have nothing but respect for Johnnie Cochran".Chris,Is a strong, intelligent,Classy, beautiful Man who had to and still is battling incredible odds professionally.
I thought the prosecution did pretty well considering what they had to work with, including the jury not being allowed to know all the evidence because of an inept judge! But it was moving to see all the heart Chris Darden put into that case, he certainly won my respect.
I mean yeah but at the end of the day oj trying on the gloves was dardens fault and furhman on the stand was Marcia’s fault. The 2 reasons he walks a free man
They should all be thanking OJ for making them relevant and rich. They all act like they wanna do things for the greater good and get justice, but they just care about money in the end
I understand why they actually had a protective glove, put on underneath the actual glove - but.... Why doesn't anyone say something about the fact that it certainly contributed to the fact that it made it basically impossible to get it over that protection!! ANYONE.!??
Lawyers need to be firm in their accounts. Each word Darden utters is soft and weak. Johnny had the confidence and focus to win. When he spoke whether right or wrong, people listened
@@blackshogun1622 that's not true at all😭😭😭 Darden has said that before he was even assigned the case he knew was guilty and his dad told him to stay tf out of it
Darden had zero balls. He may aswell have been waiting tables he had no business being there. And as harsh as it sounds he didn't get the family justice and that's on him.
I don’t understand why people think 3 hours is not enough time to render a verdict! They listen to that case for 1 YEAR! Most cases are settled in 2 weeks or less.
Idk how he took some blame. The guy is an ace and him and Robert Kardashian really looked like the only 2 that really saw what the hell was going on. I think Marsha saw too but i had idea how to stop it.
2 reasons why the glove incident was a bad idea. 1. Never ask a question or have a demonstration that you don't know what the answer to it is already. 2. Never let a defendant be able to handle evidence in front of a jury. Never mind the fact that leather shrinks once its wet and Oj was wearing rubber gloves while trying on the leather gloves. Darden was trying to hit a home run with a Perry Mason kind of moment and it backfired tremendously.
There were no mistakes that cost anyone anything. The jury wasn’t going to convict for any reason. The trial was over immediately after jury selection.
TheGr8stManEvr F. Lee. Bailey spent time in prison for contempt of court. He has been disbarred. I’d say he’s a joke. ANYONE could have cross examined Furhman and come up with the same result.....Furhman lied! It’s not exactly rocket science.
maxx dahl do you know that if he’d have been caught planting ANY evidence, he could have ended up doing life in prison? I just don’t believe a detective who doesn’t know if a suspect has an alibi, would put everything on the line......for OJ. Lol. I don’t think anyone did anything to set him up. But, I do think the collection of evidence was SHOCKING. In fact, it’s the OJ case that really means these days DNA collection protocols are in place. Something good did come out of it.
The glove didn't fit because being soaked in blood for such a long period made it shrink. It is also speculated that Simpson wasn't taking his medication for arthritis in jail thus resulting in swollen fingers. It's sad nobody thought about that back then but even so, anyone who watched that moment could notice that he was clearly very much pretending it didn't fit.
In a video seen on National News one of the Lawyers said he told OJ to make Believe like it doesn't fit and struggle to put the Glove on....(it was his)
Can't believe Christoper Darden would call the famous F Lee Bailey "a joke". F Lee Bailey was by far one of the best lawyers of the dream team. I think Chris is just pissed cause his glove demonstration was a disaster!
This was the worst case ever how could you ask a defendent who wouldn't take the stand and ask OJ to try on those gloves when he wouldn't take the stand in his own defence. It wasn't the gloves it was the prosecutions inability to prosecute this case.
Sad how people are still making money on the death of these 2 innocent people. Ever one wrote books, except Kado..then how many TY movies, now HBO I think everyone making Monet on this should give to the family's of the victims
As big as OJS hand where he had to know they wouldn't fit. Darden was set up from the start always questioning the least of the most important witnesses in the case. This was an interracial marriage murder case. White jurors who voted to acquit QJ never get blamed in this its always (a largely most Black jury that found him not guilty), but what about the four jurors who where white? Wasn't there twelve jurors on the case.OJ was not convicted on a majority rule. OJ was aquted by a unanimous decision of all twelve jurors.. for almost two hundred years Anglo Saxon protestant Americans and other ethnic minority caucasian Americans have been convicting Black Americans of crimes they didn't even commit and now that an all white prosecution team with one negro who thought he was part of team is going to take the blame for the California justice system in America. Racism in America has done more damage to white people than any other race in America, because they think they are the law and history has proven that to be a fact.
A lawyer, does the best he/she can with what evidence they have.they use what they have.the jury, has to have full believe it's correct to work correctly.
he had aurthritus, he coulod easily have had swollen hands. WHy couldnt the prosecution persit with that avenue. plus the latex underneath is still a small thickness. The prosecution lost the case on errors.
Oh, I am sure he got some criticism . . . but I bet he isn't hurting as much with the book sales coming in and his imposition is now paying off. People today are not, for the most part, interested in real justice . . . they are interested in their pet ideology or project being vindicated and everyone else being “put in their place” regardless of the consequences or the methods used to get to their desired, bias results.
F lee Bailey was a piece of crap. He was disgusting and so was everyone else on the defense except Kardashian. Chris Darden was a great man and really made a good effort.
So what prevented him from killing the victims in short tight fitting gloves. He could've still done it wearing those gloves. Plus the way he's trying the glove on is a sham. He already has his palm and fingers tensed and stretched, that's not how you wear a glove. God this is so disappointing.
Prosecution had no emotional intelligence. The defense had EI overload. They knew how people would react and did react. Marcia Clark in particular underestimated how race, sexism and domestic violence would be viewed. They thoughts facts would determine who won the case.
I think he has the nerve to show his face. He did an absolutely terrible job with zero passion no charisma. Chris Darden should of been flipping bugers not being the prosecutor for a double homicide a huge media spectacle double homicde at that. He didn't have balls for the job.
