That mattered initially, because of "Double jeopardy" he was 100% safe from the very next day. He later lost the civil trial. And also he wrote a book, where he somehow confessed the killings, but not with accuracy, just to confuse the people even more. He's a real devil.
Defense lawyer Jerry Spence said after the verdict strange things happen such as karma.Cochran is now deceased,Bailey was disbarred in a fe states,Kardashian has since died, and look where OJ is...karma indeed
Am I the only one who thinks Johnnie Cochran looks terrified the entire time? Like he is worried OJ is going to say the wrong thing and wants him to just hang up before the idiot gives new evidence to incriminate himself?
+John Smith I'm pretty sure that's not how it works. I believe Double Jeopardy was in effect... so OJ could of incriminated himself several different ways. He could of walked out of the court room after the trial and told the media "I did it." and they wouldn't be able to re-file charges for that specific crime, ie: the murders. Now if they found evidence relating to some other crime, they could file charges for that obviously. At least that is my understanding of the rule. And if that is indeed the case, Cochran was most likely smiling knowing full well OJ is untouchable as far as the two murders are concerned AND the fact he just made a boat load of cash from successfully defending OJ lol. If I'm wrong about this double jeopardy stuff, feel free to correct me. A couple weeks ago the trial got brought up in the media because apparently someone found a knife buried on the property(had no DNA on it) and they specifically mentioned that even if it was the murder weapon, it wouldn't matter because of double jeopardy.
The way Cochrans sitting there with his eyes closed and hands together..looks like hes praying lol probably saying to himself "Please just shut the fuck up Juice please! don't slip up now and undo all my hard work please!"
I don't think hes worried about that. Double Jeopardy... He has been found not guilty, and thats the end of it. He can never be tried for that murder ever again. He can literally say he did it at this point and never go to jail for it.
This comment is ironically true, as he may well have been an eyewitness to SOMEONE ELSE killing them. Maybe he was also in the wrong place at the wrong time when things got out of hand, he feared for his own safety and got the hell out of there. Then just pretended he was never there not realizing the blood evidence when he inadvertently got cut in an initial struggle. Otherwise there was really nothing else linking him to it. He could help his lawyers cast reasonable doubt to defend the murder charges, since he didn't do it himself. You may argue that he should've just told the truth about his whereabouts, what really happened... but he was probably afraid that the killer would just point the finger back at him, take them both down, maybe even get some kind of deal to testify against him (like in the Las Vegas robbery case), at the least face accessory to murder charges. So OJ just had to defend the murder charges as they stood since the prosecution/LAPD didn't want to investigate any further, they figured they had their suspect and it was an open and shut case. Boy, were they incompetent.
@@tqsuited 🎯 imo….except I don’t believe the prosecution/LAPD “figured they had their suspect”. They seen all the evidence, particularly the evidence that pointed away from Simpson and they suppressed it. OJ was in the fight of his life with people who couldn’t care less he didn’t do it, they just wanted him convicted.
I remember on Howard Stern when he sent his interviewer out to the golf course to interview OJ. OJ told the interviewer; “I just got back from vacation, and everybody was treating me wonderfully!” Howard Stern said; “where did he go on vacation, Jupiter?” Lol.😂
Exactly he comes off like he doesn't give a fuck. If my ex wife was killed or any of my family I wouldn't be on a talk show, I'd be with the police desperate to find the culprit. Think about it... If the killer was still at large he could be coming for someone else..... But OJ isn't scared because he knows he's the killer.
Johnnie looks so uncomfortable with Simpson speaking. Johnnie knows that Simpson has a history of running his mouth off, and there is a good chance he will undermine the Defence lies.
@@akeemMali He doesn't know. As a matter of fact his answer should tell you he doesn't know shit and neither does any of these trolls on here claiming they do. They don't have any evidence that O.J. Simpson killed anyone, at any time for any reason. They just have their feelings. Never any facts.
It's crazy to think that you know he didn't and continue to lie to yourself and everyone you come across. You don't have any facts to support your accusations only your feelings. And your feelings don't matter in any court of law or murder investigations.
Double Jeopardy for Juice. He couldn't be tried even if he called in with a 5 minute comedy routine about the murders, but Johnnie was worried he would say something that would hurt his career haha..
Yeah the rest of the actors were well placed but cuba gooding jr did not look or even sound like OJ. He made OJ sound high pitched and whiny for some reason. OJ's voice is deep and overly confident
@@esther4482 They should have thought outside the box and selected a comedian to play OJ in a serious role. because OJ's delivery is unintentionally funny and he has no self-awareness at all. I could see Jamie Foxx or Chris Tucker pull it off.
OJ says there was no "shadowy figure" running down the drive way as if it had to be him if there was one. For him to say there absolutely wasn't, instead of saying something like, "maybe there was, but it wasn't me", is very telling. That guy is so guilty it's just sickening.
"Maybe there was, but it wasn't me" would sound even more incriminating! Why would a shadowy figure be walking down his private driveway, and not be noticed by OJ? "Doi, maybe there was a shadowy figure walking down my driveway even though nobody...not me or Alan park...ever saw one, but it wasn't me. There might have been a clown juggling bowling pins too, but that wasn't me either!"
OJ could’ve walked out of that courtroom after they acquitted him and said “I did it!” And there’s nothing they could do about it, because he can’t be tried again.
imgladiliveineurope , it was my main complaint with that series. All the rest of the casting was adequate to good , but they really missed on OJ ... the body type , voice , body language , all wrong.
I always loved that suddenly OJ was full of fire, disputing evidence, etc.. far cry from the bronco chase, suicide note and first couple months of the trial. Def got his money’s worth out of Johnny. He took one look at the jury and knew if he shucked, jived, and put on the cadence of a Baptist minister he could get him off
I've tried to empathize with the plight of Black/African Americans over the years, the wrongful deaths of Emmett Till in the 1950s, Medgar Evers, the Mississippi Burning case, George Floyd, and several others that were wrongfully lynched.....BUT I could never, ever wrap my head around the Black American communities support for O.J. and Johnnie Cochran in 1995 and the whole "this is payback for Rodney King in 1992"
@@AB2343C Who is you all? Why do you insist on believing this way? People can empathize and have understanding for many problems of others, but you can't expect everyone to understand all your problems. You think everyone is against you, and this is why you are a loser.
What do you mean? Whites have bragged about killing black children and acquitted in under an hour. One in the crack doesn’t even compare to all of the times whites got off with killing blacks or the thousands of powerless blacks who have been innocently convicted over the centuries smh.
It wasn't the Bronco case after mainstream - social media demonized Simpson as a domestic abuser No one would believe that Simpson was innocent ! He's denied the right to a fair trial Any association with Nicole Brown renders him guilty The Bronco was found on June 13th, The blood samples were planted on July 3 It's enough to ruin a drug trafficking operation interrupted by murder A book with names of drug dealers/ prostitutes belonging to Nicole Brown Nicole Brown"s $100.000 cocaine addiction - debt that Simpson refused to pay A photograph of Nicole Brown Simpson's bruised face kept in a safety deposit box - blackmail ! No, a victim doesn't have their throat cut with domestic violence It's about knowing too much & keeping them quiet Not about how he did it when Nicole Brown was at home just baking a cake
"I gtg, I gtg!" 😂 he didn't want to be put on the spot with Kings questions and "incriminate" himself with the truth!... lol! O.J. ran that show right there! 😆
Star _gazer it wouldn’t matter if he said something incriminating, he literally could’ve said “I killed Nicole and Ron Brown” and nothing would happen to him because of double jeopardy! The only thing he had to worry about here was the impending wrongful death civil law suit the Brown’s brought against him. They one millions and have yet to get a dime from O.J.
Kardashian flat out said he started to have doubts of OJ during the trial. He cut ties with him afterwards. I felt bad for him for initially backing his friend
Good question, with the newest techniques a lot of aged cold cases were solved. This case costed LAPD of their reputation. Reopen it would be a chance to get back. So why they still sealed it off? Maybe they do know there are other suspects. And that will embarrass them once again.
Quick Question: if OJ had misspoke during this call and contradicted himself by saying something incriminating, would the case have been reopened immediately? I ask because i think this interview was a few days after the verdict...
OJ can literally go under Oath in a court of law and say “I did it” and the state of California wouldn’t be able to charge him again due to the 5th amendment’s prohibition on Double Jeopardy. The only way around double jeopardy is by federal charges or court martial, however there’s no federal jurisdiction over murders that happen in a single state.
So this was just another typical OJ moment where he grabbed his 15 seconds of fame and enjoyed having control over the conversation. Question is, how come he had to go so suddenly...?
Maybe O.J. could explain: 1) His whereabouts from 9:30p.m through 10:55p.m on the night of the murders. 2) His seven alibis 3) Why to this day, not once has O.J. Simpson ever spoken to a Reputable Reporter.
OJ is getting all rankled and angry after he just won lol Why does he care ???? He's proving he's a hot head. Cochran sitting there smiling thinking "dude shut up"
Alan Park, the limo driver, clearly testified that he saw a person who was black, 6' foot and 200lbs enter the house moments before Simpson answered his phone.
Feel sorry for Johnny. He had his own agenda and I guess thought it was important for oj to be acquitted. Now all he's remembered for is getting a murderer off - not the good he did prior. In the aftermath I doubt he believed it was worth it.
Mr Johnny and the rest of the team did there jobs they knows mr Oj Simpson was guilty That's what lawyers do they paid to do a job guilty or not guilty they has to do there job's simple
