this is super interesting. do you always imagine your voice making the sounds when you have a song in your head or do you hear the instruments? was talking about this with my housemate yesterday. he only hears his voice, I couldnt get my head around it!
Or Kurt Cobain, trying to sing like Thom Yorke, and still having a grungy cadence despite Ok Computer, being the start of their electronic, or alternative stuff.
Funny, this album makes some criticism about modern society fixation for productivity. Art and creativity contribute for society much more than some "business man" in my opinion.
@@pable95 i agree with you lol thats why i wish there was more stuff like it, it may not do anything for the economy, but this version is art at its finest haha and thats brilliant
I thought I was the only one who had no fcking idea of what I was listening to the first time I put play to it. Fell in love in the second listen because I refused to admit I didn't like it, which is a very stupid thing to do but I don't regret a thing
@@unacuentadeyoutube13 lmao i do this pretentous shit all the time. abusing the replay button of something i desparately want to like until i actually like it :D
@@Entropy101Q I loved listening to the Dark Side of the Moon being tired, it was like a trip, but with albums like these with faster tempos it can be annoying or it can just go over our heads
keep that friend around, he’ll be a loyal second in command when you overthrow the gov and ascend to your rightful place as president of the moon or ehatever
In a parallel universe, Radiohead is an acapella group and people on RU-vid make instrumental alternatives to their songs. Ps this is magnificent, good job
Well funny, personally talking; I recorded sometin' called 'Aya' (a lament). May sound a bit query, but I ain't no telling too much. Díd you knów, its a lament for schlongs
Well is not acapella as long as it uses big amounts of production resources, such as autotune to get imposible pitches for the voice. That's doesn't mean it is not a great job.
okay, but in No Surprises at 43:00, the bg vocals are just so pretty. It's easily my favorite part of the song, and he nailed it. Exit Music gave me chills too. Give this man more albums.
TRUE 🍷🧐 "Let down" I find it incredible, it is not the first time that I come back here to listen to it many times because it seems better than the original.
i was in a terrible place mentally, this morning. then i heard this. it suddenly reminded me of something fundamental about life that i can't really put into words. i can't put it into words, but i know it's the opposite of all the stuff that makes me feel how i was feeling. so, thank you. on a side note, you legitimately have an incredible musical ear. EDIT: i made it as far as "let down" before i realised what the quality was: it's overflowing with love. that's why i no longer feel so awful...love.
man i totally get what you mean, for me it's like hearing this and suddenly remembering there's so many people out there who are still going on despite stuff going on in life rn. There's so many things that connect us as humans and it's nice to see someone doing things like this that might seem goofy but is still genuine. Sometimes it's easy to forget that there's hope, others that care for us and that we need to let loose once in a while.
@@existinghuman432 the goofy stuff is always my favourite! if i had to choose between high polish and total goofery for the rest of my life, i would choose goof in a heartbeat! the way we are-how we only see our own sadness, and it takes being caught off guard to remember a lot of us are going through difficult things-it reminds me of movies where someone is in jail, in solitary confinement, and the only contact they can have with another soul is a sudden unexpected voice coming through the air vent in the wall, from another prisoner somewhere else, unseen. that's how it is with all of us, particularly when it comes to sadness. we're in a cold, dank room, alone...until we hear a voice coming through the vent from somewhere hidden...
10 seconds in: lol this is hilarious 1 song in: Well he actually sings pretty good 3 songs in: Damn, he really put so much effort in this 5 songs in: This is the greatest rendition to Radiohead ever 12 songs in: This is better than the original
@@treyebillups8602 get the eggs get the eggs get the FLAN IN THE FACE, THE FLAN IN THE FACE dance you fucker dance you fucker don’t you dare FLAN IN THE FACE
i played radiohead in the car (mostly from the bends and in rainbows) and i could tell my dad liked it i might actually get him into the music i'm into (he mostly likes depeche mode and smiths and stuff)@@xiuehe
Mom, can we get OK Computer? Mom: We have OK Computer at home. At home: Wow, mom, I knew you're a great cook, but you really topped yourself this time, this is amazing!
Opened on my phone, expecting to have a chuckle and turn it off. Ended up putting it on the stereo and blasted the entire album, singing along frantically. What a gem.
@@awabqureshi814 At this point it's my own personal meme that i haven't listened to any of them, despite having (in my opinion) pretty broad music taste. It's like a gift for my hypothetical future indie bf/gf, who will i like to imagine be like: "omg, you gotta listen to this first andf then thisb ajkfhf etc etc" :D
I appreciate your comment, but this is WAAAAY beyond just a passion project. This is something even greater than the original album, which was already not of this earth. I don't even know how to categorize this. There are no words.
Listen, as a musician, this is actually incredibly good. I don't know if you're a musician, this is the first time I've ever seen your channel, but the amount of musical understanding (consciously or unconsciously) that you've got to have to do something like this is humongous. So congrats on this!! You covered an entire album a cappella, be proud of it
"Mom can I have *Satisfactory Processing Machine* by Transmittercranium?" Mom: No, we have *Satisfactory Processing Machine* at home. *Satisfactory Processing Machine* at home: _OK Computer by Radiohead_ 🙄🙄🙄
This is my favorite album ever but I haven’t listened to it in over 7 years because Radiohead was me and my Dads favorite band growing up and our relationship soured when I was a teenager to the point where we no longer keep contact even now that I’m 28. So anytime I hear Radiohead I feel all those memories of abandonment and depression come rushing back so since then I have not listened to their music. I got this in my recommended today and even though I wasn’t going to click I knew i would appreciate this being that acapella is a big favorite of mine. I am so glad I did because hearing this album reinterpreted has allowed me to not only rekindle but to reform my appreciation for Radiohead. Hearing this has broken the curse placed on me by my own flashbacks. I can now enjoy this album again without being reminded of the negative memories I associate this with.
While I have no idea what happened between you and your dad, I hope my message to you may be of value. My relationship with my dad soured too, and it was due to his bad behavior and parenting, how he treated my mother. I took a necessary break for about 15 years. I felt ready to attempt to reconnect. There were limitations to how far we could get, but it was better than before. He passed away unexpectedly shortly after. While I have compassion for my younger self, and understand that my younger self wasn’t ready, I wish I had confronted him earlier, with the wisdom I have now. I wish you all the best ⭐️
Imagine you and your mate have taken LSD and you tell him you'll put OK Computer on and you put this on instead and he's tripping so hard that he doesn't even realise. He just thinks he's lost his fucking mind. I believe that would be hilarious!
Also for some reason the really high pitched vocals actually makes me emotional like something about hearing those really high pitched voices in the sad songs actually tugs on my heart because it sounds like a little dog crying, or something and i really don’t like it, yet i do.
@@joshshrum2764 i mean you have to imagine it’s because fundamentally the music is still the same. goofy and funny sounding yes because it’s a guys voice, but the composition is the same. it’s still the music you love, if that makes sense?
I know I'm late to the party, but I have to leave a comment. This is almost as much of a masterpiece as the original work. You have so much attention to detail and your voice impression is actually really good.
i've always thought one of the major themes of OK Computer is how technology encroaches into our lives, so it's kind of poetic to recreate it with just the human voice (and a bunch of super clever effects). i expected this to be dumb but it's basically high art lmao
I need to tell you how impressed I am by the fact that you did the instrumentals of Fitter Happier and Electioneering WITH YOUR MOUTH. That’s astounding to me
