Just seen the last matinee. Saw it before in May. Wow wow wow it was unbelievably brilliant, again. Front row sets and plenty of fun shenanigans. Better than Cabaret and I loved that! Every performance is amazing. Thank you all for this performance
I watched it last saturday and I thought it was amazing plus as a massive dr who fan it was great to see Arthur Darville and I just had to stage door him afterwards
“This Oklahoma is so different than anything you’ve ever seen! It’s sexy! Everyone wants to have sex with each other!” “I don’t want to say too much because it will spoil the show.” I’m sure this cast is talented but none of them are selling this new variation of the show very well. I saw another review for it and honestly, I think a few spoilers would help alert audiences that this isn’t exactly a lighthearted, nostalgia piece you saw a while back.
"Everybody wants to have sex with everybody" is the theme of the original Oklahoma! Have these people not seen the 1955 movie? It's pretty much all about sex.
Saw it last night, what a bunch of crap. This is not Oklahoma it's a table reading of Oklahoma. No set changes, no costumes, just garbage. I feel ripped off, and want my money back to I can see a real version of Oklahoma when someone puts on the original production instead of this stupid version. Do not waste your money!!
I feel like you kinda missed the point? Like yeah, that's the entire goal of this production. The intention is to strip back all the elements that have made "Oklahoma!" a bit sanitized, so that all there is, is the text. It seems you don't like "Oklahoma!" my friend.
Really? I think I saw the same tour in Dallas, and... well, it was alright. I mean, given the production was originally designed for a thrust stage like at the Circle in the Square, I imagine the nuanced performances were more effective there than in the large, proscenium theatres that were Fort Worth's Bass Hall and Dallas' Winspear Opera House.
John Diedrich is hotter than that entire cast. Hugh Jackman is hotter than two of those casts. Do some research before making ridiculous statements about your ludicrous little production. Where are the guns. All the male characters practice open carry. There are numerous plot points that revolve around guns.
There are guns in the show. Guns are being shot in the show. Someone is being shot in the show. Guns are being carried openly in the show. Also that little ludicrous production is touring the US and probably transfering to the West End. 🥴💕
Which turns a knife fight between a drunk psychopath Judd and Curly that goes badly wrong to Curly and Laurie being made cold blooded killers. Very surprised that R&H Theatricals permitted this. It skews the entire production to make a point about cowboy ‘justice’……
