He’s gonna be special

No turnovers! He wins the day just based on this fact.

Reminds me of another freshman quarterback that had the "it" factor. Does Holloway ring a bell? Does for me. We are seeing flashes of the same grit and field vision with decision making that Jamelle exhibited. Pure excitement is coming, Sooner fans!

Receivers: Jayden Gibson - OFS Jalil Farooq - OFS Nic Anderson - Out Andrel Anthony - Doubtful (didn't play) Deion Burks - questionable (didn't play) Offensive Line: Geirian Hatchett - Out Jake Taylor - probable (believe he DID play) RB: Taylor Tatum - Doubtful (didn't play) To say this team is injured is an understatement. Even our FG kicker was out (had his appendix out so don't think that was sports related). Two or three defensive players were on the injury list too. The total injury list totaled 12 before the Auburn gametime.

When Mike played 6A football at Allen (before transferring to Frisco 5A his senior year), this is EXACTLY the games that Mike had. Flashes of greatness and then scrambling for his life. While he was a very good 6A player, it’s not like he was slicing and dicing opponents and put up wild numbers like Kyler did at Allen….Now was that a product of a couple wild coaching turnovers in successive seasons at Allen, a lower end O-line, WR talent that maybe wasn’t top tier, a loss of their stud RB midway thru the season at Denton Guyer in ESPN, of course… but he’s going to have the same stuff happen at OU. But if Mike can figure it out, he’ll be special…if he can’t, this is what you get each week…a roller coaster of a ride….

Well, he’s only been in college a month. He’s gonna get better. A lot better.

Not only did Hawkins and the rest of the Team play great, The entire Team and Program discovered themselves in this game! They discovered they Can and Will win, players, coaching staff, fans, All realized, we are now a program that is capable of competing And Winning. Everything changed for the better!🙌

I thought Hawkins played really pretty well under the circumstances. He made good decisions, something Arnold wasn’t doing. Give him an offensive line and a good running back, ours are mediocre, and he should be exceptional.

Thanks for breakdown, good stuff. Hawkins came in with the right mindset, teammates seem to like his humbleness, grit, and “gamer mentality. As he learns to trust his OL, we’ll see his pocket QB skills improve. With BV’s mantra of getting 1% better each day and Hawkins legacy and NFL dad’s grooming/Being coached by Kyler Murray’s dad, I expect to see exponential improvement from week to week. Great to have Jackson Arnold and Casey Thompson on deck, if he should falter, but I like what I see thus far. The key is ball security and getting ball to playmakers. Love his true dual threat lethalness.

He's a baller.

Watching Hawkins you immediately notice he has that IT factor. You can’t coach it you either have or you don’t. The difference in the game was he never turned the ball over. That only is a major plus. Sooners should be excited he will only get better.

Hawkins energizes things. the whole team feeds off it and all play better.

The whole offense team is going to play hard for this quarterback I don't know why but Oklahoma offense it's going to get better.

I think he will be pretty good. I would like to see him get more disciplined in the pocket. He shouldn’t depend so much on making throws on the move. I’m really excited to see him play more. He has the “it” factor and he hypes the team up. Also, once our O-Line starts to develop more and get healthier it will only make MH a better QB.

Correct, he's a gamer, but damn I hate to see him spinning around in the air like that. Holding my breath.

Hawkins played well, but bottom line the offense did not do enough to win the game. D came through in the end. I'll take the W, but the Sooners are gonna need a lot of magic to steal anymore wins.

You can definitely see how Michael instinctively senses when the pockets beginning to collapse and scrambles out of it to make a play. Jackson would have been sacked in most of those situations.

Unfortunately for defenses... Hawkman seems to do his best work when the play breaks down.

Hawkins is a gamer; wonder if coach Latrell might use Hawkins and Jackson alternation to keep defenses honest

Safflo trail will waste about 15 to 20 plays by trying to run straight up the middle onit says it aint going to work. He needs to come up with something else. And these little wide receiver screens lose yards every d*** time he calls this play. Get your head out of your a** And do your job.

Oklahoma is going in the right direction. It's been a road since dip shit left. I always thought that he was a geek for a head coach. Venables took over a mess. Give them time. Will be in the mix. 👍
