Antonio Perkins keeps the Sooners lead well in tact against the UCLA Bruins with a record setting 3 punt returns for touchdowns. *(from Sept. 20th 2003)
I just met Antonio yesterday and he is a great guy. Told him about how I was at this game as a kid and his face lit up and the next thing I know he hands me an autograph.
I'll never forget that game all because what he did that day. He put his name in the record books for all eternity with those runs and I don't think anyone will ever break it for a LONG time.
I was 10 years old when this game happened and it was my 2nd ever game I had ever been to. I’ve been to well over 100+ now. Truly a special moment that I still think about to this day.
LOL. I was at this game! It was the perfect game to watch live because you could see the whole field and it just opened up for him every time! Even though it was a blowout, nobody left early to hit O'Conells because he might do it again....and he did.
Huge OU fan here. Only saw this game on TV, but wow. Perkins was absolutely spectacular on this day. Amazing blocking you. #28 before the great AP came along!
I was at this game. I saw the first two, but left early to head back to the fraternity house when the third one happened. When I got there my friend told me he ran another back. I said yeah I saw them both. He said no, I mean a third one. Amazing performance.
