Ah yes the Miracle in Dallas. I was in the Pride that year. We came into this game 0-4. We had come off losing to Tulsa of all teams. No one gave us a chance and we pulled it out. I’ve never been so exited at a game as I was this one. It was a bright spot in a very crappy season. After James Allen scored the TE in OT we as the Pride jumped over the railing and ran to the nearest suxass player and gave them the horns down. Part of the tradition is that the band of the winning team gets to play on the field afterwards and the losing band has to stand and watch. Then the Ruf Neks then met at the 50 with the Silver Spurs and while we blasted Boomer Sooner in their face the Silver Spurs president as he got his head shaved. On the way back a road work sign told all of us that classes on Monday had been cancelled.

This is the first ever RRR game I attend and I’ll never forget it! I was 18 years old and drove down to Dallas with my best friend. Not only did we get that dub in true Sooner Magic fashion, this was a coming of age thing for me. My first overnight, out-of-state trip without my parents. Unbelievable experience! Oh, and some drunk Tex-ass b*tch tried fighting me because we won 🤣. That was my second dub of the night lmao

I remember this one. John Blake's first win ever. RIP coach. This is also OU's biggest WTF win in the Red River series. LOL being at this game as a little kid, after the game my dad was like, "oh well, can't win em all... come on son, let's go get a corn dog and play some games on the midway."

Even though John Blake didn't win much after this game, I think this may have been what started OU's turnaround. The guys he recruited afterwards won the 2000 National Championship, and likely came to OU because of this win. Sadly, that turnaround happened after Blake was fired.

I had graduated high school in December of 96. I watched this game on TV, the announcers sucked, so I muted it and turned on the radio broadcast. My neighbors were from Texas and they got pissed off, I was outside celebrating and they bitched/complained non-stop about cheating, shoddy ref's, how OU stole the game. I told them to "Shut the eff up, it's a game, it's played every year, so just shut up. 3 Days later they moved back to Texas.
