"Is She My Girl Friend" (Milton Ager) and "What A Wonderful Wedding That Will Be" (Sammy Fain) played by the Wurlitzer 145-A band organ at Olcott Beach Carousel Park, Olcott Beach, New York. The organ played really well this year after some work was done on it over the off-season. Recorded by me, Aug. 18, 2012; photos of the organ and the classic late-style Allan Herschell carousel also by me.
"Wurlitzer157" has a video of this organ playing these tunes, but it's playing stronger here, and the bells are playing on this video. I got to the park a few times this year (this is all I recorded) and the bells were playing each time; before this year, they were disconnected more often than not. The organ does sound better in person than it does here.
This organ is #4287 and was built in 1931 (it's just five numbers below the late Seabreeze 165, which was #4292). The bells, installed on top of the case behind the top of the façade, were added at some point. The Wurlitzer shipping ledgers don't show this organ being a duplex, but it is; it may have been converted at some point.

I rode on that merry go round in Olcott, NY in August of 1961 and a few more times during the summer of 1962. My family & I on Memorial Day 1962 had a picnic in the park a few blocks from the amusement rides section of Olcott when I lived in the City of Tonawanda. My late father worked at Carborumdum in Niagara Falls then when Niagara Falls was the tru & real Chemical Capital of the world.

The organ is in better shape now than it was before (and it was never in terrible shape!).
