Wurlitzer 165 Band Organ "Pull The Cork Out Of Erin" 

Hi Dan and RU-vid viewers, I've just identified this tune. It is called "Pull the Cork Out of Erin (and let the River Shannon flow)" and was composed by Fred Fisher, with lyrics by Addison Burkhardt, and published by McCarthy and Fisher of New York in 1917. According to the sheet music, it was featured by vaudeville superstar Nora Bayes, and so must have had at least some degree of popularity in 1917. If you listen, you can hear all of the Irish themes in the music of this song, which is what tipped me off that it was an "Irish"-themed song from 1916 or 1917. It was initially copyrighted on February 2, 1917 (# E 398481), and then copyrighted again on March 2, 1917 (# E 404453). I'm not sure why it was copyrighted twice (the entries are nearly identical) except that the first title is given "PULL THE CORK OUT OF ERIN, AND LET THE RIVER SHANNON FLOW" wheras the second title is "PULL THE CORK OUT OF ERIN, LET THE RIVER SHANNON FLOW", suggesting to me a possible change of lyrics and maybe musical content between the two versions. Also, the first version was copyrighted by "McCarthy & Fisher music pub. co." while the second version was copyrighted by "McCarthy & Fisher, inc., New York." suggesting to me the firm changed its name and maybe went through an official incorporation by this time (though why they'd have to re-copyright anything is beyond me; usually the old copyrights would transfer over as part of the official dealings of the company).
