OLD (2021) Ending Explained 

I’m 16 and this was the first movie I watched in theaters alone. This lovely elderly couple got tickets too. As we were about 15 minutes early and the only ones in the theater; I overheard the wife asking her husband if they should ask if I would like to sit with them and being generally worried about me being alone. Her husband assured her that I would be fine and they could keep an eye on me as I was two rows in front of them. It was so sweet!!!

Oh man, that cave scene with the bones not healing properly is horrifying

The actors they chose for the older children were on point! They looked so much alike. Even the older Trent in his 50s looked so much like his father. Shyamalan did an amazing job choosing the actors.

You might be the only person to review this movie and compliment it instead of crapping all over it. I still haven't gotten the chance to watch it yet but I feel like everyone hops on the I hate Shyamalan train now. So thank you for being more balanced

Its sad that even though the kids survived they had their entire life stolen from them in like a day

The film itself has an interesting history behind it's creation. Shyamalan got the graphic novel this film was based on as a birthday gift from one of his kids. He loved it so much, he purchased the rights to make the movie. But of course he had to change things within the original story here and there like most adaptations.

I’ve seen so many “movies explained” about this movie. But all they ever do is just recap. I love how well you explain to the absolute best of your ability. Hands down best movie channel in the biz!

Finding out the children have aged quickly is a vital piece of info in this scenario. I am still getting the feeling that those kids would have noticed their growth a lot sooner than the time it took for their parents inevitably noticing/being told. They grew up with each other, they go to school with different grades, with varying average/median heights and structures.. surely the oldest would have been wise enough to know, "my brother went from looking like a toddler to a teen in a couple of hours, that's not normal.. I need an adult!"

That bit where the lady breaks all her bones really fast was fucking horrifying

Y’know, hit or miss, at least M. Night gets to make whatever kind of movie HE wants. Very few of his films feel like there’s a lot of pressure from producers. A lot of filmmakers don’t have that freedom.

I was so happy with the ending. They actually tied up all the plot lines for once 😂

If people don't know, the movie is based on the graphic novel "Sandcastle" by Frederik Peeters and Pierre Oscar Lévy. I really recommend you give it a read ; it's a bit different from the movie but also stunningly morbid and so creepy in it's original drawn form !

The scariest part for me was wondering if "Warren & Waren" was a clue for "Johnson & Johnson" 🤔😅

The messed up part is the children having to grow up in a day. One of them conceiving and delivering a baby with the mental stage of a 6 year old. The others, although fairly young, had lived half a life and had health issues that they supposedly“contributed” to curing. The kids are collateral damage.

Tbh this movie has some of the saddest endings, there’s little that can be done for those kids in adult bodies. Especially the 6 year old. I can only hope the aunt is able to accept them and get them into the help they need.

I thought the actor choices for the aging children were really good. There's a lot of films/tv show where they can't just age the actors with makeup and the picks don't often convince me.

Then ending kind of reminds me of The Cabin in the Woods with that "something bigger is behind this" thing and, honestly, I hope more movies (not too many; the genre doesn't need to be saturated) with that premise come out bc it's probably one of my favorite tropes thanks to TCitW.

I just finished watching it, im still recollecting myself from the “main parent’s” death, dying old it’s such a beautiful concept to me especially if you have your significant other with you, that scene really got me.

My daughter (21) and I went to see this movie together. It was actually a lot of fun. I'm not saying it was an amazing movie, but we definitely enjoyed it. It was an interesting idea for a horror movie, and it had a satisfying ending.

I loved the concept of this movie, it was truly strange but fascinating too and I was happy about the ending as well. The other M. Night Shyamalan movies that I enjoyed too were Signs and The Happening. Both were spooky, weird, and one of them was pretty gory. I truly enjoy your channel ever since I found it a few years ago, I really love how you break down all the movies and tv shows, because of your brilliant explanations, there have been more than a few movies and tv shows that I didn't even have to watch, once I learned about their overall plot and characterizations. There were some movies that I did watch, ones that I hoped you would eventually come across and explain like The Gallows Part II.

The kids asking strangers about their jobs is awkward but have logic in the context, as the hotel kid must surveil the guest about "low risk" or "hi risk" jobs: a young dancer is unlikely to have an health issue. A cop is a No-no, as he is most probably to be investigated if he goes missing. People wanted: health careers as they can take care of the people on the beach to live longer.

Gotta respect M. Night for how hard he goes in everything he makes. Literally he is so enthusiastic about what he does that it makes me enjoy watching it more

My absolute favorite thing about this channel is after watching the videos, I feel like I've seen the movie. He just does such an amazing job at summarizing it and especially adding the little video clips helps (at least me) to see what's going on. Idk, I love it. I love this channel, it's one of my favorites and I can never wait to see which movies he's going to explain next.

Nobody appreciates the killing of Mid Size Sedans... If he was stabbed for 8 seconds, that was like being stabbed for 2 Years!!! How would you hold up if someone stabbed you for 2 Years straight!?! 🤔😅🤣🤣🤣

honestly, the most unrealistic aspect about this movie is that the pharmaceutical company, the "head honchos at Warren and Warren," actually got served papers and will be held accountable for their actions lmao (lmao because if i don't lmao i'll cry)

16:05 - yes. I loved this part. It was almost like... this was the whole purpose of the film. 17:36 - Loved these 2 particular scenes. 18:37 - Loved all the brother-sister relating here - communication, etc Adult/mature communication. 23:39 - yes. Loved All that part with the fish - like "life" gathering around them again.

M. Night was one of my favorites in my youth. I saw the Sixth Sense in theaters when I was like 11 and Signs is still an all time favorite. I’m glad he’s finally back to his unique style of horror. I hope he keeps it going! I’ll always have faith in him. 😂

The twist with the pharmaceutical company is a bit ridiculous. Do they really think that no one will connect the dots when thousands of people go missing when they go on vacation to the same resort? It's not like they even have any plans to avoid being investigated since one cop on vacation was able to bring their whole operation down with a list of names.

I really love your videos. I feel that A LOT of horror movies drag on and a slog to watch. And thanks to you instead of (what I feel) wasting an hour and a half to 2 hours, I can get the whole story in a much easier to digest half hour not missing an beats. Thank you for your continued work on this and keeping me entertained.

Kinda a nitpick, but If they're looking like so much time's passed in appearance - why isn't their hair, nails, etc rapidly growing to match, too?

I've seen other reviews and recaps about this movie but they are all different and quite vague. That's why I love this channel, very thorough in explaining stuff in the movie and other key concepts unlike other videos that are full of "who knows what is this stuff" or "maybe its like this,,,, not quite sure".

The kinda stuff M. Night comes up with is always so damn good! Signs was one of my favorite first contact with aliens type of movies. Like aliens come here an are burnt by water!? Grab the super soakers!!!! Lmao OLD is definitely something to think about... don’t get caught up in everyday life, spend time with your loved ones. Cause sadly they and you won’t be around forever.... I’ve slowed down after finding out my mom has lung cancer... an I just wanna spend every moment with her in laughter an fun! The doc said it’s treatable, it was caught somewhat early. Stage 3B Non small cell. I’m definitely scared Lately at night I’ll sit here an cry for 15 minutes or more... but I slow down an breathe... if the doc didn’t say it’s bad it’s not too bad.. but there’s always that thought in the back of my mind saying what if? Like if we lose her... I might be broken after that... Life is hard, slow down an live in that moment even when the moment is small take it! An laugh! Thanks FoundFlix! I love this. “The many outweighs the few.“ This is obviously a terrible thing they’re doing but the goal in the end is good. I love the moralistic side of this so much Shyamalan can do very good when he doesn’t have a lot of money. I think I’m gonna watch this one thank you for showing me.

i really want to thank you for all your work and research into what movies your doing your videos on, i havent been afan of shamalam since he destyroyed the last air bender movie. but this movie has always interested me, no one showed a detailed enough review for me to understand the film. but yours was perfect!. didnt know what happened to some of the people on the beach, messed up to the girl with the broken bones that freaked the hell out of me. and the fact that the two kids actually made it back to the hotel, never knew that from the reviews, and i mean good for the other people for not spoiling the movie, but would have been nice to know those facts in the other channel stuff. so again great work my dude, this is why i keep coming back to your videos!!!!!!

The first Shyamalan movie I saw was Unbreakable and I didn't know about his twist endings yet so the twist to that one actually kinda blew me away.

I didn’t like how the script spoon fed the audience the scenes. Like when the mom stabbed the doctor and said how the rusty knife affected his blood. When I watched that scene I was like yeah obviously we’re watching it happen. Good concept it just seems like a script that was written quickly.
