no money in slow and steady. The old boy doesn't go as slow or steady when he isn't making a vid, trust. Tidy is a habit though. I was taught to be good, before being fast. haha
I was a brickie for 25 years until my back went and I miss it so bad My boss told me to lay the bricks like it’s for your own house In Australia we do th whole course with mud and then lay just different styles Cheers mate 👍
Old Masonry's are a different breed. My father can tie a stringline with 1 hand. In fact when he taught me... He showed off and built an ENTIRE structure without setting his beer down once. He had at least a 24 pack of empty cans in them walls 😂
I’d love to work for a bloke like this - he’s very similar to my old man. One steady pace continuous throughout the day. He’s totally in control and calm which gives you confidence. Thanks for posting, great clip..
nice bit of brick laying Boy, i was a hoddie brickie back in the day, 3 and 1 on the split, i used to lay and joint up if i was ahead . i could tell crap brickwork whilst jointing up,
Cheers Dave i had to do all the hod work for the old master who taught me, brick hod and muck hod, he told me it would do me good, he must have laughed his head off when wasn’t looking, 👍👍😃
My goodness, you made it look so easy. I feel like I can just go out there and do it.!!! But I know I can’t for the love of God I can’t. I could watch this for hours is so relaxing. 😬
nice to see plodding along at a steady pace, doing a neat job.unlike these rush and tare artists slapping them down making a right mess wading in wasted muck, a lot of them I knew are long gone burnt out. steady plod best way. 86 and retired brickie.
Looks nice and straight except on a production wall should be faster. Less tapping and scrapping the face. We squeeze brick into place one tap one scrape.
Hi bud nice quality work as usual just seen a video from another bricklayer saying he can lay 500+ bricks an hour with pic and dip method no quality in his work 😮
I'm curious about your coner posts. They have to be pinned in place to the iron or foundation? I've seen lads using timbers before that just use through joint fasteners. They double as a story pole.
Maybe try and lay a longer bed of muck out on the bricks it will be quicker and get more down........you could play a tune with all that brick tapping aswell
This is balls, his technique is slow. Too much time dicking around with the trowel, cut the snotts off and wipe it on for the joint , lay it and leave it I was taught, worked for me for 36 yrs. No disrespect chap.
get a plank along the back your filling up the cavity ....... and learn to furrow the bed and no need to tap rub them in not side to side along there length
@@lmilne4859 i understand quality, but being fast does not mean you cant make quality. I dont no any place if you lay like that you wont get fired by the end of the day. the fact that he lays the morter down 5 times is insane
