Be'lakor has been around for a long time and i had never seen a single dissection video regarding any of their songs. I love the album choices that are currently being considered for your dissection videos. There are not many videos on RU-vid that dissect Metal genre songs. In my opinion this is a huge open market for such videos and you are doing such a wonderful job. You helped me gain yet another snippet of information on why i like this genre in your very own professional decomposer way. I know there is a lot of complex mathematical timings and signatures in Metal genre songs. They are beautiful and at the same time very powerful. I personally wish to learn exactly why i love it so much. The journey into the discovery of the many sub-genres of Metal is an adventure and the journey into learning exactly why we love it so much is another adventure on its own. I know it may sound cliche but: Metal is Forever! Thank you for doing what you do sir.

Quite true, but not from the fantasy version, i think. I've only heard of him in terms of warhammer 40k, where he was once the only greater demon to basically serve all 4 major chaos gods. One of my all time favourite tracks. I'm not "musically inclined" and do not understand the nuances of timings and keys from a technical perspective, but it's interesting to hear you pick out and describe exactly those moments which are most impactful from a musical stand point and how it matches with the emotional response I get as a consumer. It is also interesting that you mention how the growls have their own place in the mix - quite often when listening to music that I like, I realise that I am not really hearing the growling or the lyrics. My brain seems to interpret them as another instrument and "part of the music". That might be how lyrics in general are supposed to work, but I don't get the same reaction from other forms of singing. Maybe it's because they are harder to interpret than clean lyrics, but nonetheless, it adds another layer to the song when it's done so well. Anyway, thanks for the video.

I don't know if you read comments on old videos but I hope you see this: This album tells such a cool story. It's the journey of life, death and rebirth. The album opens with the journey of a photon shot from the sun, racing through space until it reaches Earth. As the album goes on, the photon is absorbed by a plant to grow, the plant is eaten by a herbivore, the herbivore is eaten by a carnivore, the carnivore is hunted by man, then later the man dies and is burnt on a funeral pyre and the photon is reborn in the fires to start the cycle again. It's such a cool concept for an album and the way they weave it into songs with such crushing riffs and beatiful melodies is just incredible. Be'lakor also just put out a new song yesterday, so check that out too! :D

Omg I have waited for this so long! One of my top favorite bands in history. And speaking of history, this album is an amazing journey that you could revisit. First track starts with the birth of our sun, last track ends with a human meeting its end in flames to rejoin the stars. There's a lot of small details in Be'Lakors tracks and lyrics. An Embers Arch's last tone is at 8.20 - the time it takes for light to travel from the sun to earth, which is the story of that song. @@erikmetalhead9191 And a journey it's going to be! :D I would suggest I'll Sleep When You're Dead and Cannibal Ox' The Cold Vein to start with. The latter is not him rapping (he's featured tho) but it's produced by him in it's entirety and it's considered on of the best rap albums of all time. And since you're a metalhead - the track 'pigeon' has some nice guitar woven into the beat. El-P is a maniac! He has produced so much gems over the years. Company Flow (a group; more monotone, super dark) Def Jux: An indie-label started by El-P featuring many interesting artists and El would often produce their tracks. Fantastic Damage: His first album. Which is just brutal, like... bleak, dystopian sound scapes. Wereallgoingburninhell Megamixxx 1-3: Mostly beats, all are worth the time Nowadays he works with Killa Mike as a duo called Run The Jewels. The music is more mainstream, more aproachable Grüße aus Berlin

This is the genre I thought you'd most connect with, melodeath. However, this song would not have been my first choice to hearing Be'lakor for the first time. This is the ending to an epic concept album and without lyrical context you are only getting about 50% of what this song has to offer. This album would be a great one listen to after a gummy bear or two and just chill and read the lyrics along to the music. For the first time listen of Be'lakor I would have recommended anything off of the Venator or Abeyance album. Both IMO are the best examples of melodeath that aren't apart of some massive concept album. I get it, "BuT tHiS iS mUh FaZoRiTe!!!" I feel like when people recommend music, they don't take into account all the little details and recommend something that should have been built up to.

Their song Countless Skies inspired the band Countless Skies and both are a treat similar to this song. Melodeath has a special place in my heart I gotta admit but I recommend both the song and the band for further listening.

EoS definitely had a proto-melodic death metal going on but with lots of proggy stuff layered in. Underrated band.

Thanks for reacting to Be'lakor! They've been on the top of my favourites list for years now.. I hope you'll give them another go some time. I'm an old classical musician and I love Be'lakor's compositions, their haunting guitar duets, etc. 14:45 love that smile when the bass line starts moving :)

Thanks for introducing a new band Geebz! If youre looking to do some not-so-popular bands, I highly recommend you dig into The Meaning Of from Western Australia. I would recommend either 'flow' or 'doing life' from their first album, or 'Alive' from their latest. Have a ripper day mate!

The shades of Edge of Sanity this track has make me smile. I'd love to hear him do a breakdown of Crimson, but a 40 minute song might be a bit much lmao

these guys are melodic death metal, but they are part of what I see as a 2nd wave of melodeath bands that have more atmospheric and prog leanings in their songs e.g. Insomnium

I agree. 1st wave MDM is more like AtG, In Flames, DT, early Amon Amarth, early Amorphis, etc while 2nd wave is more melodic.

Hey Geebz! Got excited a while back when you said you wanted to react to some shoegaze. Haven't seen any shoegaze reactions so here are some song suggestions: Slowdive - When The Sun Hits Swervedriver - Never Lose That Feeling/Never Learn My Bloody Valentine - When You Sleep Ride - Leave Them All Behind Loving the channel!! Fun fact: Be'lakor was the first Daemon Prince, in the Warhammer fantasy lore. He was gifted power from the 4 Chaos gods. He destroyed everything, but eventually he grew restless for more power. The Gods struck him down, destroying his body, yet shackling his soul to forever wander. He speaks through shadows, and looks to rebel against the Chaos gods. Hey, who knows, maybe he eventually kills a Bear god and takes its power to complete his plan? :3

I got into Be'lakor through their "Stone's Reach" album. They have a great feel/vibe through their music and I can't wait to hear what they've been working on lately! Here's a band to add to your list that is great both musically and visually: Imminence - Temptation; probably one of their heaviest songs in a while for their genre.
