I think Rock Hudson "revealed"that that he was gay after his AIDS condition was totally visible. He was no hero - his revelation only came out because all knew it. I felt sorry for his live-in partner who did not know it and could have easily gotten the illness from Hudson.I think his partner sued his estate due to that reason. Vague now - if there was a suit and if so, what the outcome was; and if the partner contracted AIDS. Actually Danny Kaye was known for his many affairs with woman while married to Silvia in fact he had a mistress for years. My dad who knew him and met him said well why doesn’t his wife divorce him or he her if he is living with another woman? It's sad these people couldn't live their lives openly and freely, being who they were, without others prying in to see what they were doing. It was true for everyone in a way. Gays, non-whites, women, even straight men were all bound by social convention, older women couldn’t marry younger men without controversy, married women often had to resign their jobs on marriage in case they got pregnant, there were almost no mixed race marriages, addictions, mental health, illegitimacy, disability were all covered up in ‘polite society’. It was a different time. It didn’t mean none of those things happened but they were not seen in movies or in ‘polite society’.

I don't really care about someones sexual preferences. I don't understand why everyone has to talk about it.
