Gary, I have a now deceased friend that used to like to say with a smile on his face that he could fix anything from a broken heart to the crack of dawn. That sure applies to you. Thanks again, there is always something to learn in your posts, the longer the better for me.
Your certainly keeping busy 😊. Some great fixes there, I'm especially impressed with your pump repair 👍😀👍. 40 minutes well spent! Thanks for sharing! Cheers! 😁
Repair videos are the best videos. Always something to learn. Don't ever worry about your videos being too long. You couldn't make a video that was too long. Thanks for taking the time to share these repairs.
The length of time of a video depends on the content. On these Tidbits videos a person could stop the video between the different projects and always come back to watch the rest later on. This forty minutes seemed alot shorter to me. Good stuff Gary I always pick up a lot of information from you.
Mark, I thought the tidbits videos would be a good way of showing smaller projects that aren’t worthy of their own video. I appreciate you watching. Gary
It is a great pleasure to watch a skilled person , the time is of no consequence ... it's easy to come back if one wants, complainers are best ignored. JMHO . Thank you, and cheers!
Thank You Max. Back in the day I worked on lots of 855 big cam engines, they were used in the big versatile articulated tractors. Don’t work on them much anymore.
Interesting about that drill press. I’ve virtually the same one that I bought over 40 years ago, new, named Ludell. I’ve now seen several more of the same model, with just a couple of very minor differences on a number of other RU-vid channels, under different names. Made in Taiwan.
Gday Gary, Great video Gary, the original pulley taper wasn’t held by much at all, I don’t mind how long videos go for, as long as its interesting content then I’ll watch, I prefer YT over commercial tv, Cheers
Great work Gary. Enjoy every one of your videos. Especially like how you make use of the resources you have instead of always having the perfect raw stock or the newest of equipment. Thanks very much for sharing.
Thank you Patrick, most projects I work on it seems like I’m always scrounging up old junk material. But there’s always a new part inside of all old junk material. Gary
Ralfy, it’s always nice to have you drop by. I have not had much time lately to keep up with watching RU-vid videos. But it’s always nice to hear from you. Gary
Thank you for another enjoyable and educational video. Straightening out the hoist control was quite interesting. As others have said, I'm always looking forward to your next video!
Steven, as you already know they are definitely older machines but still get the job done. Appreciate you stopping by the channel, hope you’re doing well. Gary
Did they charge extra for the lint Gary? if not... then the lint was free! OK bad joke..... Have great weekend. Video needs to be as long as it needs to be to tell the story. For repair nerds like me. More is better :) Edit I almost forgot, last time I made a Sunnen order I bought some press fit lube. Thanks for the tip on that stuff
More is better, Gary. I will watch whatever you choose to share, regardless of length. What is different about an engine that runs on natural gas versus a regular gasoline engine or a diesel?
Alan, The difference between the natural gas engine and the gasoline engine is just in the carburetion. While diesel is a totally different animal. Gary
Hey Tom, hope you’re doing well. With the way prices have gone the last couple years I am going to put building an additional shop on hold and put a little more effort into my existing shop. My plans were to have a wood structure shop and you know how prices are on lumber. I’m also planning on selling some machines that I can live without. I have a lot of machines I have never shown on my channel.
Whenever the engine decelerates it kicks the cam forward against that plate. It appears that small cam is gas as well? I am going to have to start a landfill and harvest gas myself with this $5.50/ gallon diesel fuel!
I have never tried aluminum, from experience I would say the aluminum would plug up the stone therefore giving you a terrible finish. Normally when they resurface aluminum heads the cutters have carbide inserts. Appreciate you checking out the video. Gary
At 36: 00, you said that in aluminum you use end Mills as drill bits more often than drills. I'm pretty sure I know what you're referring to, but can you expand on this a little? Are you reasons more the speed, the service finish? Something else I'm not considering? Always looking to learn something new if I can
I should clarify that I prefer an end I’ll with aluminum and when in a milling machine. The end mill is more rigid and will cut a true hole. But if you were to try it in a drill press I don’t think you would get a very good outcome.
Hi, this is Jane from Qfun, i would love to invite you to test our 6 inch digital caliper on your channel, are you interested? If so, please let me know how to cooperate with you, thank you in advance.
