I worked at Chrysler dealership back in the early 2000s. The police came to the place because jeep had a special year or 2 I think when it had a 5.9. It was kicking ass and I use to transport them to different states lol

Other than not damaging rear brakes when warming up tires, what advantage is there? it was probably a 5.0 manual, because the 10speed auto does the same time completely stock without racing tires. Whats wrong with 12 second 1/4 mile on a $32k car that includes warranty? The only other car the Mustang can be compared to is the Camaro, these cars are in a league of their own in terms of price for performance in the US.
@@mellowd6085 not that i would personally buy one, but i mean it is faster than the BMW m4 in a straight line, and with the electromagnetic suspension it would actually be capable of driving a lot faster than the BMW M4 regarding daily use. I don't understand why people say a 12s 1/4m is slow on a stock vehicle.
It really a is a factory motor though. 1998 Grand Cherokee limited was the only one produced with the 5.9, all other grand Cherokees with v8s had the 5.2, until they came out with the 4.7. Lmao.

Well when we raced again we jumped 1 car on me but as soon as 2nd gear hit we beat him 5 cars lenths . mybad for long txt but my point is to bash ls are very foolish i was like you i thought an 2nd gen iron 350 or my lt1 383 car would out performan an ls car only till i had enough money to buy one an did my research ive relize the any based ls motors even an 4.8 stock bottom end 241 heads good cam truck intake would put out more hp . then any past sbc motors we built dont get me wrong thoses old sbc motors are stout but as far as hp per dollor an cube inch . no other motor past or future can give you working man performance like it was rich man hp dyno numbers. Reason way everyone an there grandma eveb a baby can see why they ls swop everything its couse . hp per dollor per 1hp per cubic inch means ls motors are the only motors that produce 1 hp per cubic inch ford dodge no high dollor sky line Supra also motor does that. But trailblazer is also newer tech and that doesn’t count not the same era or time. The 1998 5.9 grand Cherokee was fastest until the 2001 grand Cherokee 4.7 HO, then the grand Cherokee SRT8 came out.
Just bought a 5.9 $1500!! but shes built for rock crawling. 10k invested into it from og owner who sold it to a military guy who drained tbe battery and sold it to me because he coulsnt get it ti start! New battery and terminals and she fired up.✌

And the old ones were reliable as well. The Hemi is a different story from what I’ve heard nowadays. I don’t see how Chrysler screwed up so badly with the Jeep Cherokee, damn things used to be reliable. Now what we have are fiat engines in a pile of junk
GTRs have gotten kinda....boring. I mean I'm sure an Alpha 10 is an absolute blast to drive. But as far as videos go I feel like I've seen enough GTR content to last three or four lifetimes. We need more R32/33/34 content and less R35 lol
@william dohn I have owned 7 jeeps since 1977 still have 4 of them none leaks a drop of oil.that includes my 47 willys with the go devil engine. My 2004 grand Cherokee has over 400 thousand miles on it still original motor and drive train and it doesn't leak a drop.

People seriously overlook small block Mopars, as soon as the stock heads are replaced they're great little motors that have some serious twist, wish more people would build them so props to this guy!

That jeep was at PFI getting tuned a few weeks ago i don't think brent tuned it but he used brents dyno ya need to go to PFI's channel and check it out that thing is nasty and there was another jeep that made lots of HP too
People used to think I was crazy racing a daily driver zj 5.9 but when u beat most people and your moving 5000 lbs over 100mph your doing something right.
5.9 zj is 4300 not 5000 lbs.. but yes.. a 5.9 stock is faster than any muscle car from the 60-80s stock.. people dont understsnd just how slow the old iron was compared to the modern magnum 5.9

If the sound that thing makes with exhaust sticking out the fenders surprise you or shocks you...that it’s fast.....maybe you shouldn’t be looking at race cars....that’s a fast Jeep no shock here.
Don’t even worry about that rust getting sucked into the intake...this Mopar engine does a little nuclear rearrangement and turns it into horsepower black holes and blows it out the exhaust
