Old Love Letters was written by Cyrus Whitfield (Johnny) Bond [1915-1978] of Enville, OK, and first recorded as Your Old Love Letters in 1959, and re-recorded in 1965 for release by Starday Records in 1966. It was popularized by Porter Wayne Wagoner [1927-2007] of West Plains, MO; and James Travis (Gentleman Jim) Reeves [1923-1964] of Galloway, TX.
This variant was arranged and recorded by David Blackmore of Port aux Basques, NL, and Halifax, NS, on his 2013 Old Time Country CD, trk#1, Independent.
