In my state there is a criminal charge for " compelling membership" originally this law was aimed at preventing street gangs from forcing children to join but in actual practice it can be used against any organization from forcing anyone who doesn't wish to belong to any type of organization whatsoever.

I had similar issues with a new how after it was built. The county made them improve the privet road to my small neighborhood. To a county roads standard. They the county took over the road. I technically lost 15ft of property innocent domain. But it was a win as I gain a paved road that was know plowed by the county. The HOA thaut this made us part of their community. Nope it didn’t.
