i knew that shit would get removed bofore deepwoken release, like it was 100% causing huge balance issues unless it was like arcane odyssey type of making ur own custom magics
No venting was something else those shield mantras were resonant core mantras basically elemental shield mantras. Venting looked completely different and worked completely different.
i would literally travel back in time to the release of deepwoken even if i had to forget the year of updates, just to enjoy the original harsh loveable deepwoken
@@moistorphan5110 I was really disappointed that what I saw in testing vs release was like 80% different, in testing there was so many different islands and they kinda made the map smaller and used lore as an excuse "the drowning"
They also removed thunder eruption which was literally just that one ferryman attack but yellow. It appeared in infernasu's first couple deepwoken videos after release that were videos that he recorded during testing.
I feel like spell customization could have been fun as hell if they had a skill tree of mantras maybe or you went to a trainer to get em or whatever but they should have the base spells for example fire ball + magnet spark = heat seeking fireball fireball + tornado spark = fireball surrounds you fireball + multiplying spark = 2+ fireballs fireball + multiplying spark + tornado spark = 3 fireballs surrounding you
actually would make people engage more in pvp using movesets they are more familliar with should also make people create GIGANTICAL metas and broken combinations. Would be fun to playm, specially with shadow and thunder
The fact that it was actually like that lol. Basically there was cores (the base mantra) and you would use the Sparks to modify it. Back in old deep you could craft your own mantras.
they should add like color customization to your attunement when starting like flame can be red and orange and when azure it can be blue or purple and whit gale green-light green-White and make thunder so it can be blue or yellow lighting ngl it would be cool.
I'm not saying they gotta bring these mantras for the dead or make new crazy ones but I'm just asking for them to add more variety cause lets be real we all use the same stuff like just imagine a mantra customization.
there is actually way more mantras u didnt mention, if u surfed every deepwoken testing clips u can find some. There was basically fire gun but for gale, a fireball with 5 of them being shot, a bunch of variants of fire blade, old lightning clones was basically killuas shadow step move. I heard from a lot of testers about how crafting mantras was tedious because you had to grind to get them but i feel like mantras are just too easy to get and arent customizable at all compared to testing.

it sucks that they removed fighting other people at vigils (instead of a trainer) and also the baby crabs (the baby crabs are still in the game they just arent used anywhere for some reason)
its not that they were removed its just that the spell crafting was disabled and most of the mantras we have no are just preset mantras that were makeable back then, the mantras were way more modifiable back then so everyone had unique kits
Too bad arch got rid of the old mantra core system in favor of the modifiers. I really liked that idea (like many people pointed out, arcane odyssey / world of magic type) where you MAKE your magic your own, and everybody's spells are unique to them and them alone. That would just make pvp in general so much more interesting, the fact that anybody could have a mantra that you're familiar with but haven't seen used in that way ever before would be an exhilarating fight experience, as you either have to quickly adapt to this new trick or perish beneath the waves.. That, and pvp could've been a whole lot more rewarding. Don't get me wrong, I really like the pve style game that we got for current deepwoken but if it ALSO had a more rewarding system for the pvp type side instead of just getting their items then it would've been so much better to fight instead of log immediately. Back then, it seemed like coming across items such as modifiers, ingredients, etc was much harder then it is now days when we have hundreds of the same swords daggers all in our inventory like we're some giant chest from hellmode. In the way that Rogue Lineage had certain aspects of pve as an optional task of progression, Deepwoken should've had certain aspects of pvp as an optional task of progression (And no, don't tell me that literally just teleporting to the target player and killing them is what I'm talking about because being a voidwalker versus ganking someone during your progression are two very different things.)
i dont know why they couldnt make mantra customization like arcane odyssey/world of magic except with their own twist where you had to find things in order to create them, they literally just turned deepwoken into the most generic concept possible
