Lord of Woe is their first EP from 2010, pre-Neverbloom. It was remastered and released as part of a deluxe for Old Souls. Ether was a stand alone single between Old Souls and Worlds Apart. I believe Worlds Apart to be their best album personally.
I agree although neverbloom holds a special place in my heart. Worlds apart was ahead of its time, if it was released today I think it would have been a more popular release.

The story of Old Souls is super interesting because theres a lyrical story going on between the songs thats meant to be looks at back to front. Old souls -> scraping the barrel -> Blood Moon -> Through the Looking Glass -> Threads -> Let me in -> Requiem -> Foreward. The protagonist comes back from war in the video for Old Souls and the songs with the reversed tracklist are his decline into decaying mental health before committing suicide in the music video for Let me in. Requiem is essentially his epitaph and Foreward concludes the story with "try not to spoil the end, its been so long" which is intentional because the last line of old souls is "back when we were old souls, you cared enough to smile, its been so long", so it does technically spoil the end. This is a summary of what was published by Sean when the record first dropped and its my favourite Make Them Suffer record.
while i am super happy to see MTS finally getting more attention with their newer stuff, no band has released an album that made me fall in love quite like Old Souls. glad to see someone going back to check out these tracks and Neverbloom. thanks for the vids
Love this band. Although MTS did lose me a bit when they released how to survive a funeral. It just didn’t have the same impact as all their other releases for me

Well 2 albums and EP but seriously who tf does that lmao ❤ You didn't notice at all, damn That's the greatest thing about make them suffer, the grand story they tell. Robert and Anne parallel Morrow and the Lord of Woe... in the opening song Forward you hear Anne saying 'read me back all the stories we used to share' which literally parallels the Lord of Woe, who in Widower listens to Morrow sing and tell stories for hours on end, and in elegies and chronicles he writes them down for her... In blood moon Robert talks about his friend in the dark, which is the Lord of Woe who... Fuck dude I could explain the entire narrative but it's just a RU-vid comment You got a good ear for instruments at least, though like i commented on your other make them suffer video, IF you noticed the storyline then say something about it, and if you didn't pay more attention to... Actually nevermind no other band will have a grand epic like this so don't worry about it lmao Good breakdown of the music and instruments and stuff though
