Not really a clothing thing but Zangief got fatter. Not in a bad way, but rather they actually put fat on his body so that whenever he flexes now he genuinely bulks up and I think that’s just a neat detail. I also appreciate him wearing pants, they look good on him.
Exactly, most of the characters are wearing regular outfits for them. Chun-Li's outfit is the one she wears when teaching martial arts to her students. Sumo wrestlers pretty much wear Kimono as casual wear. The fact is that most of the characters either have or will get a version of thier silly if iconic outfits as alternate costumes.
I gotta brush up on my Guilty Gear lore. I was a huge Blazblue fan because GG was so daunting to get into as a new FG player, but now that GG has continued I wanna get into it. -Adrian

@@sqcarolfgc Just from listening to his music I was instantly a fan. I originally bought Blazblue out of curiosity because, for some CRAZY reason, they were promoting it at our local Best Buy with a chance to test out the game. The game was very pretty, but it was the music that made me come up to try it, and I eventually came to love it. All of his games are mechanically/technically amazing, and I like the character designs a lot-- they're all so unique!
It is tho. Fit wise, the older ones have dynamic color variations making every parts of her stand out. SF6 is just B L U E. Physique wise, she completely lost her charm by having smaller thighs and a generic asian woman face.
@@jerkyjin I don’t know what you guys are smoking but her outfit in 6 is beautiful and every part of it actually works together. Her original qipao is pretty but the edgy spiky wristbands, brown pantyhose, and white combat boots totally clash with it and the only reason people think it looks good is because of nostalgia. And how exactly is her face any more “generic” than before? I think you’re just upset that her eyes look less anime and more like a normal Chinese woman. Also her thighs are massive, are you blind? Horny gamers are the worst lol.

Idk guys, some L takes here. But i guess as a long time SF fan i just love most of the new designs so much more because the former ones, were the normal for just so freaking LONG. I think i love Chun-Lis the most. It is more realistic and with her being a Kung Fu teacher for China Town in Metro City it really fits and gives her a more noble look, i guess. And she still looks hot af, maybe even hotter imo. Only her Alpha work out clothes can top it.
Honestly, this is fair. Similar to Christian and Curt, I don't follow Street Fighter as much, but unlike them I know just enough to keep me in the loop (cause of the fighting game community). I actually like a lot of the newer designs as well, particularly Cammy, Zangief and Juri (less so than the former two). However, I hard agree with them on Blanka and some other characters. -Adrian
@@3RDIMPACT I can kind of see where they're coming from if I look at some of the outfits in a vacuum. Cause some of them like Honda and Blanka only work due to context and changes in characterization ('sumo obsessed' and 'feral wild man' vs 'I have new hobbies' and 'chill goofy jungle dude'). Most of the SF2 casts' whole deal in the new game is "Fighting is dope but I'm also 40+ with relationships and interests and shit"

What if SF6 Chun had her OG bangs design? I've been thinking lately what felt off for me with Chun. It's not a bad design, I just feel like the bangs were a little bit shorter this time around. But that's just me...
Something to keep in mind about their designs between games earlier in the timeline (1,2,4, 5, and especially the Alpha series) and the later ones (3 and 6) is that there's like a 20-30 year time gap. They start out in their 20s and 30s now a lot of them are in their 50s and 60s now. I don't think it should change much of your observations, but this is definitely like comparing someone's fit from when they were in high school vs the present.
Super cool! Genuinely shocked about most of these tho, SF6 designs are for the most part very well received especially Luke Juri Chun-Li Cammy. Like they went from constantly complaining about Chun's spikes, then to the new design without them, and saying it's worse??? Anyways if we get a Guilty Gear Strive video, gonna go absolutely crazy. I honestly think their outfits are more intense than anything which has been shown on this channel so far, so much visual identity
I'm torn between doing a straight up tier list, or a then vs now, cause there's just SO much, but I think a comparison provides way more value overall.

fun vid but i hard disagree on the fit takes im pretty shocked. The sf6 designs have the most drip and are way more fashion inspired compared to old games. Cammy and juri's fits are too cool.
At first I thought this was a joke video but after liking old juri costume was the last straw and I personally like the new looks for practicality, style, and adding character to them more but liking old costumes is just trash taste… P.S. this is not meant to be taken seriously love your videos and as I stated before being a fan of street fighter since 3rd strike my PERSONAL OPINION is that the new costumes look amazing. Also blanka yes seems a bit freaky but in his lore he is helping his mom by doing stuff surrounding the blanka-Chan krypted. And putting him in a spandex where a bunch of kids is a line not even Japan would cross breaking censorship.

HONESTLY THOUGH, I wanna do Street Fighter Alpha. As someone casually interested in the Street Fighter series, I do enjoy the designs in those games a lot. I would LOVE to see a 3D Street Fighter stylized like Dragon Ball FighterZ or Guilty Gear, but with Alpha's art-style. -Adrian

the blip with Juri's concept art and final design for weatern release of SF6 was censored, those pants were wide open to show as much thighs and skin as possible, and the only thing underneath was either a speedo or her underwear. upon reveal American censorship editors nearly passed out from the exposure, that they gave her leggings and lengthened her top to cover more of her torso, even adding an optional coat for to hide that her top was basically a backless halter in the shape of a spider. and (thankfully this was where capcom drew the line) to kink shame her fans they tried to give her shoes to cover her toes (with which she emotes her taunts with).

I'd wonder how they would rate the Fate/Nasuverse fits. Especially when you have some great and signature looks like Gilgamesh or Artorias and compare it to the giant pillowcase of an outfit Enkidu has. I love most of the outfits and characters in the series but theres some wack ass outfits. Personally one of my favorites is probably has to be Arjuna's, man got some great design going for him in all forms.

I mean, taking the artwork that is not the complete realization of the basis will the recent one better and better, specially when the sense of progression is felt through the change in physicality and clothing, even without knowing the story.
