Thank you for making it clear that people don't need to alternate both products. I've tried the Truth Serum in a sample box and it seemed to do a nice job and it surprisingly did not break me out. I ran out of it, so I haven't used it for a while. I do think that the Banana Bright serum is better for my needs since I have more aging skin. Love your pet, Alice 😁. Stay well!
Truth Serum always worked well for me (and I genuinely consider it one of the reasons I got more interested in skin care) - great starter serum! But yeah, it's actually quite nice that OH recognized it's more for beginners/acne and developed a separate C serum more for advanced use. Thank you, hope you're doing well! 💗
I it's Laura and thank you Alice🥰 for the information you gave me about my skin condition in between my eyebrows yes getting to a dermatologist right now would be kind of impossible I will try the the online person you suggested thank you so much again stay safe in your family keep on you are a terrific and Beautiful by the way also very informative 😁 I will keep watching your👸💖 Channel thank you stay safe🌻
My skin has definitely been suffering from stress too. Not necessarily breakouts, but just splotchy and red and uneven. I honestly wasn’t expecting to see huge results from this product, because I do use vitamin C regularly. But I used this everyday for a week and I was shocked and how much clearer and brighter my skin looked!
The Banana vitamin C serum left bright pink, burning marks around my nostrils and under my eyes. The Truth serum does not. And I love it! I returned the Banana one back to Sephora. And my skin doesn’t react badly to much. So that says something.
I'd say probably the banana bright as it is "stronger" - but you might get better results by pairing it with a BHA to prevent the breakouts. The Inkey List has a very affordable BHA!
Thank you so much for the review.. my skin problems are like your skin problems .. dry skin with pimples on stress. Spots as well and sensitive.. can you suggest me which one should I choose??? 😞
I'd say Truth Serum is more targeted for clearing acne and Banana Bright is more targeted for clearing acne scars (why I like vitamin C as an ingredient...whether C or the derivatives, it's great for acne and all associated issues that come WITH acne!)
Once again, THANK YOU so much for sharing your extremely helpful & thorough: research; personal testing; evaluation; & presented review! Both you & Apollo’s skin looks beautiful right now! Last time I saw a pics of Apollo, he appeared to have been overusing chemical exfoliants (he was “shedding”)! 😉 Sending you Hugs & Blessings! 🥰
You all probably dont care at all but does someone know a trick to log back into an Instagram account? I was stupid lost my password. I love any assistance you can offer me!
You definitely can, but you may not need to as BB does include HA. I set it aside over the last couple of weeks and just got my niacinamide in via my toner ☺️ Thank you, he's such a funny little guy! Always on the move lol, I should have known he couldn't handle sitting still 😂
I have dry skin myself but I will say: it's a lightweight serum that sinks in quickly, so I do suspect oily skin types will like it just as much. And yes, can be used daily! I'd recommend once a day in the AM. Hope that helps!
Thank you sooooo much for all the details you mentioned about the two serums . I am using the c truth serum for a week now combined with eye contour and the gel cream. According to what you are saying the banana bright would be irritating.
Hi, I have dry skin and my skin is okay but have slight acne scars, just slight. Also i have seen banana serum which i recieved as a sample has tiny glitters or maybe i was wrong. But isnt it bad for our skin ? Could you please let me know which serum is good for my skin ? Please ?😊
It's mica! Same ingredient in makeup products - won't hurt your skin and will give it a glowy appearance. I'd give it a try as I think banana bright is more for scars and truth serum more for acne. Hope that helps 😊
I saw a disclaimer that igreadiant list may differ on the truth serum, wich is strange shouldn't they be the same all the time in every bottle . I don't think they should be changing formulas back and forth and have 1 for 1web site and 1 from another you never no what your really getting. You did a great job on this and your skin looks beautiful, I love the way you do trials.😘
Yeah the ingredients on a bottle's packaging are supposed to be accurate, but the ingredients on the website can be "incorrect". Which is all kinds of ridiculous in my opinion! But yep, the exact problem is reformulation - if a product is reformulated, Sephora might get the new shipment while still selling the old one - so in a bit of a "CYA" type of way, they add that disclaimer. I genuinely think we need such better regulation over this as the ingredients are ...kind of incredibly critical?!
Tbh...if you're trying to address dryness, I wouldn't rely on either alone. Vitamin C is an absolutely WONDERFUL ingredient, but moreso for scarring/age prevention/dullness than hydration. I'd look into products rich in humectants. tbh one of my absolute favorites for hydration is an essence carried at Ulta: Kitao Matcha seed essence. $25! If you're in another country, I'd still look at essences - Hada Labo premium is another great option. Hope that helps 😃
I’d go for the Banana Bright as it has Hyaluronic Acid in it. It will help your skin maintain its moisture barrier. It’s helped my skin in these dry winter months and I have dry acne prone skin.
He's a veiled chameleon! They aren't the easiest pets to be honest - we actually have two, but one keeps to himself, whereas this one is very social. However, if you can hand pick a more social chameleon, it will be easier to care for them (as the more asocial ones are a bit harder to figure out - not unlike how some people are harder to figure out LOL!) Bearded dragons are an easier starter reptile I would say, and they're just as adorable! 😁
AliceintheRabbitHole yes, I’ve heard that bearded lizard is a good one to start with. Kinda stinks that we can’t go to a pet store right now, it would keep him a little more occupied to have something to care for Thank you though!! ❤️
I too own chameleons...there are reputable places online from which to purchase healthy reptiles. I like this place: facebook.com/pg/Family-Reptiles-228727557140798/photos/?tab=album&album_id=789672254379656&ref=page_internal
Thank you so much for this video! When I first saw the Banana Bright I was like "but, Ole, you already make one of the best vitamin C serums????" 😂 I have a much better understanding of the differences now!!
hi Alice it's Laura Devlin not my husband Edward LOL love the video I have a question for you please I don't have acne prone skin exfoliate exfoliate exfoliate🥰 as I do 2 2 three times a week and mask at 57 yes of age ouch I have fairly good skin not wrinkling or sagging yet LOL God blessed me with that for my age ouch57 ouch LOL young at heart❤ I my question to you is I get under the skin between my eyebrows bumps of I believe sebaceous glands, can feel them not really noticeable but I can feel them I use glycolic and retinol Peter Thomas Roth at night but I can't seem to get rid of the bumps under my skin any suggestions thank you so much there are people in the world like you and I'm so happy that you're here today and always😘
Hmm, it sounds like you have a good skincare routine. Have you considered seeing a derm? I'd highly recommend it - one visit can be enough to help you understand what's going on with specific skin concerns! The timing on this suggestion isn't too great - probably difficult to see a derm right now. I know some people have had luck with online derms, but I can't personally advise you there. I'm old fashioned in that sense lol! Maybe someone else can help though - Curology is probably the biggest online derm that I've heard of!
And yes my primary doctor said this was September last year that may be a dermatologist would help me he also said stay away from dairy I did that for a while I'm a vegetarian and eat yogurt and basically some cheese that wasn't bad but thanks for your help again stay safe
Hi it's me nervously a night owl Laura I wasn't saying it wasn't bad not eating it was okay but didn't help stay my friend are a lot of people think Dairy causes this problem and voice text me a very long fingernails and I'm sorry to keep bothering you can't wifey next video
I wonder why they call it Banana bright serum. Does it smell like bananas? Are bananas in the ingredient list? Did I miss something? Anyway, wishing you and everyone here health, body and mind, through these confusing times. 💝
(to ride off the success of banana bright eye cream) Lol, it's a good marketing strategy though. Advanced C Serum might have been a better name for the product, but everyone has heard of banana bright! Thank you, stay safe as well!
It happened that Im searching a good vitamin C review and this channel pop up, I tried to watch at first, but too much talking, too much info which I can just read all these info online.. Its gets boring...I didnt finished watching it...🤔
I’m writing this before watching. Laughing bc as we speak I have a bottle of the banana bright serum on its way back to ole henriksen in exchange for truth serum bc of pilling. I’m expecting you had the same result. Edit-I’m genuinely surprised. It was SO bad for me.
Oh that's interesting! I don't think I was wearing much makeup at the time I did this video, so I may not have noticed? Still ended up passing along banana bright in the end (in my declutter series). I get the idea of it, but it wasn't a favorite for me
It’s because the serum has a PHA in it. It’s similar to an AHA but more gentle. The pilling is dead skin cells that the PHA is lifting off the surface of the skin. If you wear makeup and want to speed up the process, use a physical exfoliant. I t stopped the noticeable pilling for me.
