In a world that needs a stronger focus on recyclable materials, Puma Bitumen has come up with a solution for repurposing old tyres in an eco-friendly way to create more durable roads. ‘Crumb rubber modified bitumen (CRMB)’ is made using Australian-sourced, end of life tyres.

Tires take about 2,000 years to break down, and if left in nature, have a tendency to let off some nasty chemicals into the area. Not only that, but tires are very flammable and are very difficult to put out once lit. If we are making them into roads, how are the above issues counteracted? I'm very curious and would like to know! I live in GA and outside of going to get my tires changed by a professional company, I have no idea where people can properly dispose of their old tires, or what happens to them once they are disposed of... I love the idea of recycle and reuse, but not at the cost of doing the same damages.

They did that years ago here in New York...oils from the rubber seemed to leach out and cause slippery roads in the winter...

Cheers mate Our uniforms we get and emborid through RSEA or EmbroidMe (I believe they are a chain across aus)
