I've always kinda liked flashlights.. I didn't know it was a thing until a few weeks ago. I'm a newbie.. (70 year old newbie).. Been watching a bunch of RU-vid trying to decide whether to buy a Warrior of some type or the Javelot mini. This was an excellent review of the x4. Maybe one of the best flashlight reviews I've seen. Very professional.
I'm kind of a flashlight nut too and I love o lights products everytime. I got the new seeker 4 for my everyday carry and it's incredible. Buuuuut I got the Warrior 4 to keep on my plate carrier. Since it's so rugged and easy to use. And that's probably the only time I'd ever need strobe mode. It's a fantastic light that does exactly what it's made to do very well.
I own several of the Olight tactical lights. The Warrior 3s has been my favorite EDC light for both work, and recreation. I ordered the X4 last night. It looks like it will be a little big for carrying in the hip pocket, but looks like a great light to keep in the truck for when I go camping, hiking, or just exploring. Great video demonstration and comparison. Can't wait to try mine out when it arrives.
The one thing that pulled the warrior x and x pro out of my pocket was the bezel eating the pockets it was replaced with a noctigon kr1 with the w2 led. 1300lumen 100k candela it solved my pocket thrower desire. And it was very cheap.
In my opinion I think Seeker pro 4 is quite good to keep in my truck. For me It's the best choice for camping, hiking, dog walking etc. Strongly recommended ,except you want tactical flashlight.
Wow, Great Light. Gotta say, olight has done a great job with this one. You rarely see the usb port done THIS well. I always thought olights throwers were a tough sell but now that they gave it the SFT70 its definitely worth buying. I think its one of the best looking lights as well, and i think that tailswitch makes it worth putting up with all the other olight quirks. Hope they bring the usb ports to other models as well, i lost my marauder mini charger and now i have to charge it with the 0.5A mcc, a new one costs like 20 bucks : /
That’s a nice light. About time they went usb c. Not that I normally charge the batteries in my lights but it’s nice when you need to and it’s the commonly used usb c. Would also be nice if stopped using proprietary batteries.
Kick azz review of what looks to be a great light! I have the X & X-Pro but never got any of the newer iterations after those. I want the X4 now, though, pretty badly. Lol
Great video! It would’ve been cool to see the lumen test for the medium mode, you only showed regular mode which is low/high beam. Tactical mode is medium/strobe. Great video either way I love this light I think it’ll be my next
Ordered mine already. No regrets. My general purpose EDC light is the Baton 3 Pro Max in Neutral White. The floody beam is still perfect. It just lacks throw, so that's where the Warrior X4 should do an excellent job. The only downsides I see is I'm looking for a tactical light that allows for the Rogers-Surefire flashlight technique -- which requires 1) the solid cigar ring; and 2) you hit the tailswitch with the palm of your non-dominant hand, and it needs to never lock into the on position. I *think* this switch sits too flush with the rear requiring a finger to actuate? We'll see when I get it. Also looking for 100% Keep It Simple momentary only and twist for solid on. This light -- while super cool -- might be relegated to backpack EDC thrower and not EDC tactical light. (I can probably contact O-Light with my feedback and details so they can compete with SureFire and put out a new product I'm wanting! They seem to listen to feedback)
Warrior x are just about perfection the only let down is the UI, u need to be able to go from constant ON low mode to momentary turbo then straight back to constant low mode again, instead of it turning off every time you burst turbo, if you actually use the torch you would understand, its fumbley using low as you do most of the time and short burst turbo, I've tryed suggesting this simple but necessary improvement to olight meny times was very disappointed it wasn't added to the x4 it could of been absolute perfection, oh and put the glass breakers back on please
Would have been nice to see the seeker 4 vs the warrior 4 to show the purpose of each relatively - this is mostly absent from yt. Just feedback, not a complaint, and we've not got to the end, so may even be in there and I don't know yet? :-D
The only thing i don't like about the magnetic charger is, when I'm cutting iron pipes at work, the little particles get stuck and make the button stop working. I like the magnet there, but i wish the button was somewhere else
I wouldn't mind the magnetic charging so much of they were universal. I have 4 different olight products and they use three different magnetic chargers. The other two will repel what they don't belong to. This mean to use my devices I need to manage 3 separate freakin cords for three separate devices. Kind of a serious PIA. I spent $30 on a flashlight from AliExpress awhile ago. Can't remember the brand, but this thing can throw 3 or 4 football fields on half a dang charge. The cerakote is incredible and durable. And that beam is as tight as a... *insert 90's joke here*. You sound old enough that you maybe could have been there.
Any beam shot compared with Nitecore MH25 Pro Is p23i better then mh25pro Warrior x4 seems amazing Which one i choose if i had to choose one Long range and soild impact is the key goal
After its initial drop, would you say the X4 sustains as well as the Thrunite Catapult Pro? I know the Catapult will out-throw it, but would the X4 outpace or at least match the Catapult on sustained output?
For that info, i'd point you to my friend's review site, tgreviews.com . He does excellent runtime graphs for everything. I know his review of the Warrior X is imminent.
ive got x3 let me tell you none of those lights got 600m range .. i mean light may get there but it is not useable max distance of useable light from those is no more then 200m i feel like saying 600m is a bit of a scam
yeah well thats ansi range for you. Just kind of the standard the industry came up with. I usually take the ansi range and divide it by 3, that gives you a realistic number
@mikeenslin3009 Well said. @tomg224 The ANSI formula is to first measure candela, then multiply the candela by 4, then square root it to get the throw in meters. This may not seem usable to you because of what type of objects you are looking for. If you look for something large and white (like a lighthouse or water tower) you can easily exceed ANSI with most lights.
@cheule omg just got notice about disrespectful comments lol come on olight .... I know how it work and tested its cool I'm not moaning I'm happy with my light but it's good maaaaybe up to 200m and up to 150m really good I love my x3 so as mini3 and mini before that :) I'm not trying to hate olight you bastards I think I've bought like 8 warriors mini for gifts :)
Can you take the MCC charger wire off and add a usbc female Connection in? So you can carry it in your travel bag and just use the same wire that you use for your phone
I guess they had to come up with another way to switch mode groups since it doesn’t come with a MCC anymore. By the way, does that tail cap still put out 2.75VDC @ 10mA? Made me wonder if metal came on the magnet if it drains power and why not a simple diode to prevent that. I get the tail switch has circuitry for the fast and full press so its needed power from the driver side.
I'm so sick and delirious I forgot to include that part in the review. I shot it and everything. Ugh. I think it's a great holster. I'll upload the clip separately I guess.
It was my understanding that this flashlight’s USB-C port could be used as a power bank to charge external devices but when I connect it to my iPhone 15 Pro Max, an error message appears on the phone screen indicating the charging source (Warrior X4) uses too much power and therefore will not charge the iPhone, at all. When I connect the flashlight to my 11” iPad Pro (4th gen), the red light beside the flashlight’s charging port illuminates but the iPad does not respond to the charging source, at all. Can the X4 actually be used as a power bank to charge external devices? or do I have a defective flashlight?
I don't think the Warrior X 4 has power bank features. I just tried a USB-C to lightning cable and my iPhone didn't see a charge source. I also checked the Olight website an saw no mention of the feature.
@@cheule I think I was confusing the power bank feature of the new Baton 4 Premium (charging case) bc I bought that one and the Warrior X4 at the same time after watching hours of promotional and instructional videos describing the features of each. As an aside, after reading comments beneath various X4 videos, I can confirm that the Thyrm Switchback DF (Dual Fuel) tactical ring and pocket clip combo accessory that I had installed on my Surefire DFT Fury Tactical 18650-powered flashlight DOES fit perfectly on the Olight Warrior X4 (once the Olight’s tactical grip ring is removed), despite the Olight utilizing the larger diameter 21700 battery in the X4. Additionally, if you disregard the resulting redundancy, the X4 with the Thyrm DF-specific Switchback installed will STILL snap securely into the X4’s factory belt holster with the tactical ring facing outward and the pocket clip facing inward, nesting into the holster’s concave channel where the flashlight is meant to rest while holstered. However, since both the Thyrm Switchback AND the X4’s factory holster each have an integrated belt/pocket clip, using the factory holster becomes redundant and therefore, arguably, unnecessary. I hope your viewers will find this information useful. Cheers!
"eyes always on to the next thing" same as EV drivers. They SAY they're being "green" but they just as quickly throw away a whole car to buy the new one rather than replace the battery that they used to talk a good game about being able to do when they first got it. Defeating the whole purpose of being renewable.
I belive the mcr2 chargers do this anyway... They fast charge to 90% in like 2 hours then the light will go green to say its fully charged, then it will trickle charge the final 10% over another hour. I personally find it anoying as you can only be sure it's over 90% when the light goes green, then need to guess when it's 100%
I think the UI would be better if you could access strobe with double tap so you will have all 3 levels readily available. Interesting how these 3 guys really gave a fuck when you light up the street.
Is there much force required to unscrew the USB-C cover? Some folks with poor wrist mobility have struggled with uncrewing the cover on a Fenix TK20R UE.
I say no to hard rubbers. all that means is age = sticky melty BS. Buttons are barely tolerable as it is and are necessary evils but I try not to seek out rubber touch anything whenever possible.
Im unsure. I've avoided the Warrior X line until now. They seemed unimpressive to me (having lots of long range throwers in my collection). I'm glad to be proven wrong!
The mh25 pro has a really nice led, its round which is unique and its real bright. But the warrior x is a better light overall id say. The tailswitch and ergonomics are way better imo.
Has a neighbor ever asked you why you shine a light at their house all the time? Thanks for the review as always dude, love how comprehensive they are. @@cheule
The mh25 pro has a very impressive led but thats really all it has going for it. This is a better light overall id say, The tailswitch is amazing and i think it makes more sense on a light like that. But if you are looking for a light with a round emitter and dont want a light with a tailswitch the mh25 pro is the way to go I think the mh12pro makes more sense, the led is a lot more impressive in that small form factor. You still get 60k cd in that and the same lumens.
@@mikeenslin3009 I hear you and I have the mh12 pro. great light but the green tint is a little off putting. The MH25 pro has more usable modes, high candela and higher lumens than the olight. Might have to get them both and test them out.
Your video talked way too much. Olight should put USB-C connector to charging brick but they still didn’t. You had to buy extra charging cable to have that option.
Part of the same EU law that is forcing the likes of Apple and Olight to finally include USB-C, also pushes to not include extra transformers because of all the mountains of eWaste it has created. As far as the style of video, that’s what the vast majority of my audience has asked for. I tried a 5-20 min format for a while and year ago, and the fans hated it.
