Yes sir we have definitely come a long way as to the quality of packing shipments. As a former RPS P&D Contractor I could tell many a story about the short comings in the industry. A lot of customers we had would skimp on the packaging materials and then blame the carrier (RPS, UPS or the USPS for example) for damages when it really boiled down to insufficient packaging (of which the carriers would deny due to improper packaging). As we have progressed and shippers have learned, the art of packaging is quite the science. It can be rather aggravating to unpack stuff due to what may seem as overkill, but getting the items in without damage is the goal.

I just finished binge watching all your videos. You have one of the better channels on RU-vid. The content is always worth watching and the editing is exceptional. I especially enjoy the electrical diagnosis videos. I started mechanic work in 1977 in West Texas where it rains 15 inches a year and 2 inches from November through March. I’ve never personally experienced a wheel stuck to a rotor, a rotor stuck to a hub, a steel brake line leaking that wasn’t rubbing on something, or a mouse nest in anything . I have had a bull snake come out of a stamped hole in a cotton stripper cab frame and strike at me. But your work on rusty bolts makes me feel like I’m watching a brain surgeon on a soap opera remove a malignant tumor from the President. Please keep the videos coming. I really enjoy you and your good family.

Hello Wes , tip : to put seal like you did on the driveshaft without special tools you can use a piece of soft plastic from a limonade or milk can . You cut with scissors the side out of the bottle and fold this on the shaft and clamb that with a hoseclamp or tyrip. hape it conical at the beginning of the shaft and grease the plastik. put the seal on teh plastik and push it in her place. You will understand that the plastik must be thin and strong enough, sometime i double the plastik skin for that reason . If the clamb is in the way of the seal change the position of the clamp or make it that is goese with the seal . For the rest you make a fine job keep it going greate respect from Friesland (NL)

The life hack for pouring is to turn the bottle on its sign and pour. It will let air in as it pours. That keeps it from surging, glugging, and spilling. I used to work at an auto paint company mixing paint and it was taught to me there. Something I’ll never forget. Works with any flat sided container. Super for antifreeze.

we've got a Case 580D with a 4 cylinder diesel and it too has a Stanadyne Roosa Master injection pump. I now have an appreciation for the engineering inside of these pumps as they are very clever in how the manage timing, fuel amount, and governing. In my ignorance, I bought a rebuild kit and rebuilt it on my parents kitchen table. Slapped it back together and nothing... Not even fuel to the injectors. So I cranked in the max fuel adjustment for the injection rollers in the pump as hard as I could and the engine fired right up! It ran a little rough, would go up to the governor, and had no power. As soon as you touched the hydros or power shuttle it died. So I called up the diesel shop and he actually had the exact pump with the exact configuration we needed on the self! For a cool $1,000! WIth no choice I went down to get it and talked to the guy, told him my story, and he was shocked. He was surprised the rebuilt pump ran at all and said congrats on that achievement. Turns out, you have to throw the guts of these pump into jigs that calibrate each and every adjustment within the pump and it must be done in stages. Each pump is specially tuned to each engine for each tractor. With the properly rebuilt pump the tractor runs like new. Fires right up, easy cold starting (no glow plugs), loads of power, and the thing hardly smokes. This is a 1980 Case 580D with almost 7,000 hours. Amazing what a fresh pump did for it.

I just can’t believe how any regular mechanic with average skills could take on this job and be successful. It hurts my brain just imagining all the plumbing issues, fuel lines, hose and fitting compatibility Issues to replace solid fuel lines, return lines, cracked brass tees replacement. I’m sure You have a plan B if you can’t get a mechanical lift pump. I am now waiting to see how or where You are going to get replacement rims for a 60 year old tractor and mount new rubber, and what the hub issue that moved is? That old OLIVER GIRL has a new lease on life equipped with rear blade and front detachable loader that makes it versatile for crop work. I’m guessing a new machine would cost between 50 and 75 thousand. Great work Wes and Your experts at Area Diesel that saved this machine from being melted down to make rebar.

Hey Wes, love your videos! All of this brings back old memories...I was a field mechanic for JD for many years. The umbrella seals do very well with good ole Vaseline and I never tore a seal. Also, the seal compressor isn't necessary, mine got used a couple of times and sat in the drop front road box the rest of its life. JD has a special wrench (box end) made by OTC for the back bolt on the IP flange...it makes life so much easier! This is for anyone replacing a Stanadyne/Roosa master pump, make sure the throttle lever is in the full fuel position with a little spring load, wired back or the seals WILL flip when trying to install! Keep up the good work!

Mornin Wes, sorry I'm late to the show, but you were on your Oliver, I was tackling few items on my MF 135 last couple days. On your power steering lines, you can if you need to braze them, are if you can get them clean even use Stay silv flux, and 15% sil-fos if need be, and it actually works very well on steel lines. Rated for high psi, so shouldn't be an issue as far as meeting psi rating. Just make sure not to get it too hot with either application, and sol-fos should work on your brass block T's as well if you can't find replacements. Also once you've brazed the brass, it should be plenty strong enough to crank on it to tighten up your compression fittings on either end too. Might need to run a fitting brush through the brass fittings to remove any scale that occurred during the heating process, but that's easily enough done to prevent clogging any injector that might be inline with it. Looks like Young man's from Kansas 5 ton, as I don't believe it is a duce n half that I seen in the invisible background there. Seems ZZ Top song comes to mind here, something about a invisible 7-11. I'll leave it at that. Enjoyed the video as always, and my don't you have a nice looking old green tractor for one that needed so much attention. LOL, just wish mine ran as well as yours does now. Be safe and stay well Try yesterday's tractor supply, they have warehouses spread across the country, and they may be able to help you, are Abilene Machine, they have pretty good selection of parts too

I never have been a fan of inverted flare fittings, I always keep intending to make adapters to JIC . Power steering hoses always leak up here in Alaska, hydraulic hose shops have reusable hose ends which they silver solder your factory steel tubes this way they can use arctic hydraulic hose, Area Diesel did nice job on your pump and injectors it sure starts and runs smooth now, 25 years ago I flew into remote gold mine or copper mine and they had 5 hard rock core drill rigs skid mounted and all powered by 6 cylinder Oliver diesels plus 5 Oliver diesels powering Bean drilling mud pumps, all these rigs were old early 1970's I figured , parked not in use I was trying to get one home but to much trouble.. good video thank you

Wow Wes what a nice pump. Hope it wasn't too expensive. Bandit farmer needs these people to rebuild his pump on his 1850 Oliver. Don has had nothing but problems after his was rebuilt in Ohio.

This is my favorite channel by far, I even like to go back and watch the older videos. Always so informative
