Good song, he played this song live for the first time over the weekend at a farmer's market in Currituck, NC, two months ago he played in front of 20 people at the same place, this weekend 100's if not 1,000's showed up.

We live in a world where the corporate elites have politicians on all sides in their pocket and play a constant game of divide and conquer to keep people from seeing the truth.

It's the most powerful song I've heard in so long i can't remember. It's authentic, raw and heartfelt. I've never seen a song resonate with so many different people at a soul level. It's American folk music, out of the mountains in Appalachia. Not too long ago he was struggling with alcohol and depression. He fell to his knees and prayed to God to take them away and for him to go forward with his music. God answered his prayers. A local radio station that scouts talent throughout Appalachia approached him and asked if they could record him. They posted it just days ago and the rest is history. It's the only song that's been professionally recorded. There's others that are so good too, in the top 10, but they were recorded on his iPhone. He's so surprised at the reaction and outpouring of love. He played a farmers market yesterday and there was standing room only. 25 acres of parked cars. He said in June he played for 20 people. Lol. Before his performance he didn't plug him, his songs or his social media. He read a verse from psalms about how the wicked will not prevail. Everyone was singing along and knew all the words despite it being released only a few days prior. It still hasn't been a week. He stayed 4 hours after talking to every person who wanted to talk with him and he listened to their stories. An inspirational young man with an inspirational story and an angelic voice that everybody feels. He quit his job as a factory worker to pursue his music. He bought land and lives on that with his dogs off grid. This song is recorded on his land
God had a mission for Oliver. His message in these lyrics is what most of us feel. Perhaps we should all listen closely and use his words to start changing the mess that those people north of Richmond have allows us in.
Oliver Anthony has a number of videos now where he's giving us his thoughts. He just played live in the Outer Banks of North Carolina last weekend 8/13/23. BTW, those rich men north of Richmond are in Washington DC. The miners he cars about dig coal, the minors on an island is a reference to Epstine's island.
Just a talented regular guy with a guitar, his beautiful voice and a great song. It happens once in a great while. That's all it takes. Maybe the music industry is taking notes.

Part of the reason he was having hard times as he was injured on the job and had a skull fracture. He was out of work for some time and I believe he even said that he was taking prescriptions as a result.

In case you were not aware, Washington DC is just north of Richmond. He is referring to the the rich men (politicians) in DC. I agree with you on the song hitting home for a lot of people.
