Dude...I watched your last video while you were posting this one. I love you, man. I'm a white conservative-leaning person and it burns me to no end that we are all forced to define ourselves into two square boxes when 90% of us are in the middle. We have to stop this cycle and do away with money in leadership (and hire someone under 60! lol). As a Gen X'r, I feel everything you say, my friend. Godspeed to you and your family. Christopher Lunsford (AKA Oliver Anthony) lives in Farmville, Virginia about 20 minutes from me. He has performed in some local venues, but I am SO glad the rest of the world gets to hear him now. He has had a tough life, but he owns a small farm now, and he is a devout Christian - if you hear him live you will hear him read from the Bible - he is the real deal. Hits message is FIRE. It’s crazy for me because I have been listening to all of his music on Apple Music since last week pretty much nonstop and this song is fantastic…but it didn’t bring me to tears until I started watching the reaction videos…seeing such a diverse range of people reacting to this message give me so much hope! God is moving in this and it’s wonderful to see!

We want ourselves and our neighbors to be able to be successful through hard work and taking care of each other. I’m not a liberal, but I appreciate your point of view and just subscribed. For many years I believed myself to be liberal, because I was caught up in the narrative. It took me years of life and research to realize that left or right, most of the politicians are all the same, they’re all corrupt and they pit us against each other using race, gender, religion, class and more, so we’re too busy hating each other to learn what the truth is. Oliver Anthony moves me because he talks about the fundamental struggles we all have, the things we all know, but not all of us have the words to express. I got about 2 minutes into the video before I realized I needed to subscribe. We need more people like you in the world, my man. Keep being you, forget all of these people that can't leave their own echo chamber long enough to actually listen to the problems that other people are facing.

I'm in a bit of a struggle with alcohol right now, and I lost it when he gets to the chorus. I say the same thing every time, and I hate it. *I want to get sober, but it's not going to happen tonight, so just pour a heavy one and let's get fcked up!* That said, I find it fascinating. I hate getting drunk, but then there's a part of me that overpowers myself and I get caught in a wave of excuses as to why I can/should have drinks, and then the next morning I wake up feeling horrible, regretting my decision, literally hating myself and cussing myself out... but the same night or next day the wave of excuses and the thoughts creep in and I'm suddenly ok with it. Such a fascinating element of my humanity. How a type of drink can take me from being in the best shape of my life, waking up at 4:30am and excited to work, having a sense that I can literally do anything... to having a gut, constantly exhausted, an absolutely wrecked digestive system, and considerably less money.

YT put your vids in my feed today for the first time because I've been listening to Oliver Anthony for the first time recently. I have always been a Constitutionalist that has some conservative and some liberal opinions. Very rarely have I seen liberals anymore who will take a breath and listen to what someone is actually saying before forming their opinion. I want to say thank you for that. That makes you a roll model for ACTUAL tolerance and understanding, empathy and compassion, and we need more folks speaking to things the way you have in these first videos I've seen. His music has broken my heart because I've been there. I've lived that life, too broke to pay attention, not knowing where my next meal was gonna come from or if my gas tank wld hold out till the next paycheck. I've yet to detect any hate for anyone except our abusive govt and he ain't being picky - he's being equal opportunity critical of the govt - all'a'em screwed us over at every turn.
