In this video, Olly will be learning about the physics of driving and how to control the vehicle, e.g. using the accelerator, and brakes, and stopping the vehicle safely and smoothly.
My aim is to get him to understand the characteristics of the vehicle as well as to continue working on eye, hand, and foot coordination.
When driving a car, he’s essentially controlling the motion of a massive object through various physical forces. Several fundamental principles of physics come into play to make the car move, steer, and stop such as Newton’s Law of Motion, friction and traction, centripetal force and turning, braking and stopping, aerodynamics, weight and inertia, suspension and smooth ride.
Understanding the physics of driving can help him become a safer and more skilled driver. It allows him to make informed decisions, anticipate how the car will behave in different situations, and appreciate the engineering behind the vehicle he operates.
Remember, responsible driving not only ensures your safety but also contributes to the safety of others on the road.
Drive carefully and respect the laws of physics!
My sincere hope is to help students get over this hurdle and be able to carry out this task confidently.
