Very advanced society, all at once, advanced stone carving equipment, it was 12000 yrs ago. Think about an advanced civilization that goes underground to escape the cataclysm and probably has to live underground for many years. What kind of equipment do you thing that they will have to bring out of the caves when they come out? -- advanced stone carving equipment-- If they start building a society, how will it look to archeologists? There is an obvious distinct difference between the giant heads and the potbelly statues when considering the skill and capabilities required. It's night and day. In my opinion the culture who created the stone heads were there before what is called Olmec, and just like in Egypt the Olmec society inherited what that older civilization left behind, and added to it in their own distinct way. The giant heads display a level of subtle style and detail light years ahead of the other carvings shown in the video.

Most likely these statues were built by "marooned Nth Asians"....shipwrecked on the West side of South America . Maybe they should do DNA studies to find common markers. (The natives of Madagascar have DNA which suggests Asian origins....distinct from Africa itself.). The Olmecs had no refinement in their physical appearance....and looked brutish...

@@bertplank9892 no disrespect, but maybe they should perform a DNA analysis before you assume what is "most likely". Madagascar is a long way from South America. Some say the heads look African, others Asian. Therefore they share similar characteristics with both, which makes them unique to themselves. We can speculate all we want, but the truth is we don't KNOW. The truth holds no prejudice against what we believe, nor does it require our belief in order to exist. It merely waits patiently to be discovered.

Some of the heads of olmecs were actually Giant Heads petrified, and the question is why they did'nt undig the hole bodies, and the answer is because of goverment and/or church intervention at that time, they did'nt want the people to know about the existance of Giants, because at some time humans had fight with Giants for the control of resources and political power.So they pretended that all olmec heads were statues.

Possible, as there is scientific proof of cross-breeding, from DNA testing, of the polynesian People, to the Peruvian & Chilean Peoples. Given modern country borders are arbitrary ones, that DNA link could also be found in Peoples right throughout Central, & South America.

Thank you for sticking to the facts. Speculation is fun and entertaining but should never be presented as established fact. It's okay to not know. and it's okay to speculate about the possibilities too, but dont be deceptive about what is known to be true and what is purely theory. The Olmecs had the most advanced understanding of mathematics of all the Mesoamerican cultures. Everything we know about their culture is based on artifacts alone with no historical records. The name Olmec comes from a name applied to people who lived in that same area but, 2000 years later. And means "rubber people" This is a reference to the rubber tree cultivation in that area in that time and had nothing to do with the ancient civilization who carved the giant stone heads and other artifacts. It is not known what they called themselves or what name they were known by at the time of their civilization. There is much about this region of the world, the area extending from the Bahamas all the way to Chile, that defies our understanding and our ability to draw a coherent timeline of our history. I believe one day, all will be revealed.

A video on Twitter showed a massive round stone (10 to 12 ft?) that was standing on its side under a ledge & apparently the locals claimed it was used to move the massive stone slabs Archeologists forget to mention that but if the massive stone statues were magnetic & it was between two wheels it could be rolled thru physical labor & also there's a possibility they used magnets to help propel them too

@@chakr.a On what evidence? Oral traditions doesnt mean anything! What they can see is that they have connections to polynesians. Austronesian people who have a common ancestor with the real native americans from north over central till south america. This common ancestor was in siberia thats why they often have these asian features, and south east asians same as polynesians have often flat noses and round faces. I base my evidence on linguistical and partly genetic markers same as the proven migration wave over the bering strait that happened between 15.000 - 27.000 years ago. But there was a specific migration directly from polynesia. Do you claim also Easter Islands statues, Gunung Padang (The oldest left overs of an ancient civilization ever - 19.000 years old) or Nan Madol? So my question is now where do you base your evidence on? Oral traditions are automatically nullified so please real evidence.
