My husband and I watch your videos together as our date nights and we live all the research you do! We cannot than you enough. there are many Florence videos out there but yours have substance and that’s why they are the BEST. grazie da Texas come sempre ❤
I am loving your videos! We are going to Italy in just a few weeks, and my husband is also a Saffa! I love your content. The detailed information combined with the maps is just great. Thank you!
The first time I went to Piazzale Michelangelo it was a sweaty, August climb up the hill. The second time I made the trip, I took a bus. Definitely made the ascension easier! And back down in Oltrarno, art lovers MUST visit the Brancacci Chapel in Santa Maria del Carmine for the Massacio frescoes. An admission fee charged, and at last visit, reservations required. The birth of humanism in eclesiatic art.
This is a great video. I spent a month in Florence last April when my daughter was studying abroad there. I worked remotely and rented an AirBnB apartment only a block from the Arno, near the Uffizi gallery. Oltrarno quickly became one of my favorite places to go, and like you I spent many hours wandering around and taking in the incredible views. There's also a great area in Oltrarno north of the Ponte Vecchio that has a bunch of great bars, I discovered that my last night there and had a fantastic time. Can't wait to come back.
We'll be there in just a couple weeks!! We've been obsessively watching your videos and have learned so much to help us in our FIRST EVER ADVENTURE OVERSEAS! Just me and the hubs to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, with three weeks in Italy, beginning in Florence and ending in Sicily. Here's hoping we run into you all while in Florence!
Beautiful video but I do miss your food tasting videos. You could combine them with the history/art tours. Even though I live in Italy it's just so much fun to watch. Hope you make more of those. 😄
Your days as tour guides were not wasted. Nice job! One thing I learned in Tuscany in Rada at the Castello di Albola winery is that authentic Chianti Classico that has met the requirements for Chianti will always have a Black Rooster on the label. Originally the Black Rooster was a symbol of the Military League of Chianti. For the last 300 years it became more of a symbol of the region for wine in Chianti and certain requirements of grapes and purity before it can have the Black Rooster on the label to be certified Chianti Classico wine.
I love so much exploring with you!!!! I love that you show the plan of the city and that you give us historic informations!!! Your videos are awesome!!!!!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Loved this video many vloggers never mention this part of Firenze, my favourite part. Used to live there now I feel homesick. You both did a great job, BTW you have the best smile EVER! And your girlfriend has the best legs EVER, you are a nice couple ❤. Trying to get back to Firenze next month, crossing my fingers……..🤗🇨🇦
Yup, it is a hard clime but. I consider it a challenge, I've been doing it from 1978 and still doing it today . BTW global expats, even though I've been traveling longer than you both have been alive, I still learn many things from you !
Aww thank you so much Ken, that really means a lot to us! 🥰 That’s awesome that you travel so much & make the climb to the top - the view is always worth it! 😍🇮🇹
Mark and I are in Firenze … travelling from Canada. Will be here across from the Al antico Vinaio for a month. We found your videos very helpful in navigating Firenze. Hope we run into you in our travels. 😊
They are Steve Madden! 😍 All my shoes are Steve Madden actually! Once I break in the shoe, they are pretty comfortable and I don't really have a problem walking around the city in them 🤗
My wife and I will be visiting Florence as a port stop on our upcoming cruise. We'll be there for a tour around the city on our own probably for about 6 or 7 hours. While we're walking around, probably getting lost, if we run into you 2, we'll gladly buy you a pizza and a glass of wine. Maybe you can direct us to a good spot. Love your videos.
Our favorite neighborhood! This is were we were staying at an apartment close to the Arno and the supermarket that you went to :) Thanx for bringing us back so many fond memories!
I am planning to travel to Florence around June next year. The great videos and useful information you made help me make travel plans. I'll look forward to your wonderful videos ! 😊🎉
Excellent video of Florence 👍 l ‘ve been there countless times as my parents used to live there in the seventies, abit less tourism then, except the summer🙄
I've been enjoying your videos about Florence. A question for you: Would it be feasible to walk up through the Bardini Gardens in the afternoon and then walk over to the Piazzale Michelangelo, perhaps on the Via Belvedere, to watch the sun set over Florence? Or would it be better to make this into separate walks, do you think? It doesn't look that far on the map but all the hill climbing might be strenuous.
wow that was absolutely beautiful, loved the tour, and directions! The beautiful sight and historical information, wonderful video!!! thank you so much, 1 question how long did it take? ❤
Loved this, gave me some more ideas for when I visit in about 5 weeks! PS. The cars don't stop at the zebra crossings for people? And, I didn't realise you could drink alcohol in public places. Cool!
Great video with awesome tips! Sadly I saw it after my trip to Italy, so I climbed the hilly road to reach the Piazzale 🫠 but now I know better thanks to you guys!
@@TheGlobalExpats I'll be in Arezzo 16-22 giugno (for the Giostra on the 17th - you should come!) and in Firenze for the day on Sunday 18th. Would love to say hi!
@@TheGlobalExpats Regarding the city of Florence, there are many places and stories outside the traditional tourist circuit: For example, about the Ognissanti Church which preserves one of the three last suppers of Jesus in the world on beautiful wall, the work is by Domenico Ghirlandaio. Moreover, in the same church , there are other important works and the tomb of Sandro Bottticelli where visitors leave flowers and roses and your muse Simonetta Vespucci... Simonetta, was considered one the most beautiful women of the Renaissance, and her beauty inspired many works of art of the time... She was born in Genova ( Family Spinola ) in 1404 and moved to Florence with her husband, Marco Vespucci. Simonetta met Giuluano De Medici, the younger brother of Lorenzo the Magnificent, during a jousting tournament in Florance and it is said that he fell in love with her at first sight... Botticelli was also secretly in love but unrequited from Simonetta. And after Simonetta's death he asked permission from the Vespucci family to be buried next to his inspiring Muse... Simonetta, died at the young age of 22 years and was buried in the Ognissanti Church. the chronicles of the time tell that at the behest of the family Vespucci and Medici it was exhibited in the Duomo and as it passed all the Florentines ran to admire it in all its beauty that not even death had taken away from it 😔
Sundown at Piazzale Michelangelo seems to be absolutely beautiful. Stunning video! So much good vibes there, unbelievable. What's the best time to get there?
Well researched and a a great guide to touring Florence on your own. I found this video to be one of the best I’ve seen. Heading to Florence in June and hope to visit some of your highlighted attractions. TY again.
Aww thank you so much for your kind words Mark, that means a lot to us! We are so happy you found it helpful & we hope you have an amazing time on your trip in June! 🤗🇮🇹
Thank you ! We will be in Florence for our third time this Oct. Excited to check out the sunset at Piazzale Michelangelo since we have yet to do that. Hope the stairs are fixed by then too. Last time we stayed in Oltrano for a week, it was wonderful.
@@TheGlobalExpats All good guys, back in Palermo soon 😍🇮🇹🏴 some of my socials were hacked and they were sending friends on facebook /Twitter some bizzare wacky messages 😂 just incase you got any 🇮🇹🏴
Enjoy your Florence video. I plan to be there in October. Where can I find local paint artists showing their works? Are there artists marketplaces you’d recommend. ? Thanks
Very nice, thank you! So other than Gusta Pizza (which we love), and the nearby Gelateria dell Passera, what is your favorite pizza place in the neighborhood where you live? We will be staying in that area for a few days very shortly. Grazie!
Visiting in may. Going to venice, florence, Rome and pompeii. I've paid for all the trains, museums, hotels, etc. Do you think for 10days, family of 4, €800 would be enough for spending money for food, merchandise, etc? Was thinking of getting €200 more just to be ok.
Hey Claudia, yes all of our Sicily videos were filmed on an iPhone 11 Pro and the Tuscany videos are all filmed on an iPhone 13 Pro! We just have our camera settings on 4K & 30 FPS 🤗
First all the stores on the Ponte are owned by four people. Second don't ever buy on the Bridge. Ask the concierge at your hotel to recommend four jewlers in Oltrano. And then ask for recommendations from the owner of the fine restaurant you dine at. Take your time.
I'm traveling to Florence in a couple of days, so I needed some information. This is probably the best video I've seen on RU-vid. I have a question. How long did it take you to get around all of this? One day?
We've been in Florence for 03 days last month, a lot of your tips were helpful! But we'd walked something like 12~15km a day during these three days and we'd prefered taking the bus in front of Porta Romana to get to Piazzale Michelangelo for the sunset
