I remember when these came out in the 90s. It had a string you had to thread then pull. It really does work the wrist and forearm I still have two somewhere in my collection of exercise equipment.
@@busyrandas someone who uses it regularly it does work, but assuming your not me it's not worth it. Using dumbells and doing reverse grip forearm curl and other movements are more effective. Only reason I need it is because I have wrist injuries on both wrist from mountain biking so I struggle to perform those movements
@@keqrou I dunno man I get that shit to like 20,000 rpm and quite a bit of lactic acid builds up in the forearm and you can feel the tendons getting a good workout too.
how do you get over the initial pain? i’ve had post traumatic tendinitis and arthritis in my wrist after falling on ice (no fractures) for 4 months after injury and 9 more months later i still get some pain sometimes and whenever i try to spin it around like this, even just my fist with no weight, i get severe acute pain. i just don’t know what i’m supposed to do
@user-pf5lw9jn7v I'm not a medical professional, but for me I just did everything light up to the point before pain. Don't really know what to suggest, but trying to stay within that line has worked for me
Man that brings me back. Had one of those like 20 years ago, but we had to learn "the flick" of the thumb to get it spinning once you inevitably lost the red string.
its good for flossing the wrist tendons and a bit of handgrip if you get it real fast, but you feel the burn more in your top forearm like the popeye muscle.
Someone finally made one of these with the spring built in? I remember having one of these that you had to start with the string. And if you lost the string, you better help that you can flick it fast enough to get it started.
There are exercises I do daily I picked up from judo classes. Stretches wrists and elbows and strengthens them. Can also be used for pain in the forearm too. Surprised the dr.squat hasn't heard of them
I have one of these gyro balls. They are awesome. I ended up getting two so I can do both hands at the same time. For those who like fidget spinners, get rid of them and get a gyro ball. It's like a fidget spinner on steroids, and builds strength too.
What’s broken with you? No need to look at others just look at yourself! A high level athlete that’s working hard always needs to work on small imbalances and improvements and injuries.
