Since setting up auto for the card slots another issue has come to light. Although my new EM1 mark iii has two card slots only slot one is UHS II and slot two is only UHS I. Not too much of a problem unless shooting a quick series of burst shots with Pro capture e.g. birds in flight. The buffering on the camera processor appears to have to hold images for longer if slot two is in use. In this instance may as well use the Standard setting and manually change the cards between slots when the card in slot one becomes full. All my cards are UHS II and relatively high write speed. Perhaps OMD will consider this when the next EM1 mark iv is released.

Rob, thanks for this video. On my EM-1, mIII I use dual, independent, down-arrow, with RAW to slot 1 (hi-speed card) and L-SF to slot 2. This was intentional to provide a "warning" that my memory card is full and something needs to be done - intentionally. If has never come to that, since I off-load my RAW files as quickly as possible. That way I would no know immediately to change the setting to save to slot 2 until another card is available for slot 1

thanks for this, another video assumed I knew about the save settings having another tab, I assumed it was simply to save the settings on the cards. used to have 2 cards for burst and standard, but then the burst shots would have same names to some of the the standard shots, should be all ok now, 128GB (170mb/s) slot 1, 64 GB (300 mb/s) slot 2

Hi Rob, thanks for your videos. You’re my Olympus tutor! I’ve been using my em1mark3 for video shooting. And it used to be ok with shooting nonstop more than 29 mins but now it stops after 29 mins. I’ve asked Olympus office here they said the file size should be big enough (4GB) to save the video (over 29 mins) in multiple files thus bypassing the 29-min stop. Can you share your settings for video so as to shoot continuously?

Hi Rob and thanks for this great video. I am using M1 Mark III and I sometimes like to shoot in dual mode Jpg fine + RAW. I then use the jpg files on my iOS devices to quickly play with them, share them, etc., and I try to post process my picked RAW images more seriously on my PC. Here is the question: I want to capture RAW files to my super fast Sony Tough UHS-II card in slot 1 and the Jpg to the fastest possible UHS-1 card in the slot II, for practical reasons. Both cards are 128Gb but obviously the Sony is much faster. If I split the capture of the two formats to two cards, does it mean that the card in the slot 2 will limit the speed of card 1 or is it somehow solved by some great buffer engineering? Let’s say I shoot burst shots, they go quickly to card 1 in RAW, and slowly to card 2 in Jpg. But then the jpg is a small file, so maybe it isn’t limiting card 1 at all? Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

How can I set Cart 1 to JPG files and RAW s to Card 2 only?

I have the EM1.2 and the EM1X and both cameras have just one card in each. The second slot is a waste of space for me. But I do know event shooters who really rely on two cards.
