Hear me out, when Anthony said back in like episode 2/3 that he cannot offer her love, Kate reiterated and Edwina said it still just makes him an honest man. I feel like that was an ample explanation. He’s never said he loves her at all, I think edwina just started to ‘love’ him after he defended them to the Sheffields and wanted the same back when she didn’t before and that in itself is fair, but does not mean that Anthony didn’t make his intentions about a ‘suitable marriage’ clear enough to her. Him loving Kate whilst attempting to marry her sister is what makes it *yikes*. Haha

Kanthony gripped me more than I ever expected in all those small, lovely moments from their season! Jonny and Simone gave such an intense performance together that I was able to faze out the unnecessary drama they crammed into their love story and I am really looking forward to seeing them in season 3 no matter how much screentime they get. While I enjoy Anthony's growth, I still think they did a massive disservice to Kate by sidelining her to focus on a love triangle. Her family was blind to who she was, how she felt and even where she was (hence why she had so many solo scenes with Anthony) - specifically the closet and at the church at the palace...no one came to check on her except Anthony and Mary vanishes completely. It seems like Mary was purposely pushed into the background so the drama could explode but also so Lady D could fill as a confidant. As much as they tried to make Edwina not a plot device, that is all she ended up being so it gave me whiplash and it really ruined their beautiful sisterly relationship. Kate had nowhere near the support that Anthony had and she is a woman so she really was limited on action. She is sacrificing to self detriment but she is essentially just going along with what her mom and sister think she wants. Then they had to tie it all up with a bow in the last minutes of the 8th episode with finally showing us the overdue talks where Mary apologizes and finally comforts Kate - then showing us a quickly matured Edwina who is upset but willing to talk and let her sister back in. They just did these girls so dirty because they were a great addition to the cast but we missed out on how close they are supposed to be really and that is why I want more even though I know we won't get it.

Look, I’ve always said I love Kanthony but they were lowkey trifling with Edwina. Her reaction is much nicer than mine would’ve been because what do you mean you’re having an emotional affair with my sister?

Tbh I’ve been really trying to figure out why Kanthony is so beloved… no shade but I’ve always thought Kate was rude and thought she knew everything… they played in Edwina’s face and caused so much unnecessary scandal 🤷🏽‍♀️
