It's crazy how everybody wanted their watches brought back to new during a service when the materials showed signs of damage (or patina as you describe it), and now that watches are made to last forever, everybody's complaining the watches have lost character. My beef with modern day watches isn't the materials, but that they've grown in size. Sometimes to the extreme. I'm a massive fan of certain neo-vintage watches, because the new ones have just gotten too big.
Gorgeous dial. IMO, best green dial and bezel in the industry. I had one but sold it because it saw lesser wrist time compared to my Sub. Also, the clasp 'jammed' on me not even a year into wearing it. Had to send it back to Omega Service Centre. Even they can't unjam the clasp so they gave me a new clasp. Overall great watch. Just wished the bezel action and bracelet was better.
99 % Watchs lose their value soon as you take delivery. What is your Point? I have many Watchs. I don’t Buy them to Sell them! I buy them To WEAR them. 😊
Ok, so I have this and like it. BUT - try using the bezel under water/when wet. Extremely slippery. Needs more teeth. Such a big miss on an otherwise iconic diver.
Preface: I love both Omega and Rolex. I own and enjoy models from both of them. But why is it that Omega “fan boys” can only ever review an Omega in relation to Rolex? Don’t you get that you’ve already lost if that’s always the comparator? You see Rolex as the bench mark, without realising it!
I think that everybody sees Rolex as the benchmark - Rolex fans, Omega fans, Rolex themselves, Omega themselves (since they revived the Seamaster diver with a more rolex-like dial and the Sub is their target to beat), and the whole watch market too.
perhaps your right - I think the Green monochrome look doesn't help - maybe the colour for those wanting something a little different is White. I will say I prefer the green on the seamaster over the green on a subby hulk or starbucks.
@@AwkwardHorology Yes, the blingy green dial on the Hulk makes it look so ghastly that I wonder what makes it so popular and celebrated; when the simple black version can look so quintessentially classy and understated. Like celebrities who are popular for being popular, it is sometimes hard to fathom what their attraction is if you judge them without prejudice.
@@danieltheblackswanYou’ve clearly never had one, hence your observation that it’s “boring”. It’s a long way from being boring. The way that the waves catch the light, it emits all sorts of shades of green; hence the nickname ”the chameleon”. The Sub is also a great watch, but it’s incredibly vanilla and here in London you dare not wear it out in public for fear of getting mugged.
5min 49secs WTF is a taxidermy watch?? You do know that taxidermy is the art of preserving an animal’s body after stuffing it? What on earth does that have to do with watches??? 🤦🏻♂️ 5:49
