Omega Seamaster Professional better than Rolex and Tudor? 

I was at the bangkok airport and walked into many watch stores. This watch is a beauty, but lower cost in the usa. I will picj one up. On another note, i walked into the rolex shop and started to ask if they had a.... i was stopped mid sentece with "we have no inventory". Great business model. Omega is my choice

I had been a Tudor fan but sold them all. Bought an omega speedmaster moonwatch but found it a bit too light and delicate so i changed it for the seamaster 300 pro blue dial, which feels and looks perfect. definitely feels like a solid watch and well worth the money, actually looks better than the speedmaster.

I’m a big fan of Omega but they truly have become the masters of variations on a theme.

I really rate this watch and prefer it to the sub . I may if I can get one in the future. Metas , ceramic dial beautiful aesthetics. The bezel is really good the action is perfect 👍🏻. The ultimate 300m diver

I wanted this watch when it was announced, but got impatient and got a Rolex (back when it was still possible to get a used Rolex under retail). Then the black ceramic version came out and really liked that, but didn't immediately pull the trigger, and then finally the black black version came out, and I recently picked it up. It's a very nice watch indeed.

I have this watch in black and like it in every aspect. It looks different according the light, sometimes it seems like white.

I have the exact watch and love it. It's very heavy though. I also have the No Time To Die watch as well, which is much lighter since it's titanium. I don't mind the bracelet, but could do without the huge helium valve. Also, the coin edge bezel on my Rolex watches are much easier to rotate than Omega's scallop edge bezels, even though they do look nicer.

I bought the white dial Seamaster 300m on bracelet a few years ago. It's a great looking watch; and I still love it. But as with most watches, it's not perfect. The bezel is clumsy to use and the bracelet could use a refresh (i.e. tapering down to the clasp). But overall, it's a very nice watch. I've got mine on a black rubber strap so the contrast between the white dial and black rubber is fantastic.

Couldn’t agree more - the Omega is much nicer than the BB58. Different category altogether. I had the Tudor but have my eye on the SMP300 now. BB58 is great if you want a subtle watch but it has no wrist presence really. Whereas the Omega looks like it costs what it costs.

It’s not a build up of helium inside the watch, it is the fact that helium can possibly enter the case through the seals…

I just received the white SMP yesterday and it appears to be every bit as good as my Rolex Submariner. Absolutely blows my Tudor watches away. Rolex is king of marketing and hype. No doubt Rolex makes fantastic watches, but from my experience with this Seamaster and my 3861 Speedmaster, Omega's are just as good.

I have the same watch but on a rubber strap, perfect for the summer.

I'm in such a quandary - I have the SMP300 (black dial) but I've been on the waitlist for the submariner for 18 months. If/when I get that call I'm not sure what I'll do, I adore my Seamaster (hate the bracelet) but there isn't room for two divers. Ideally I want a 2 watch collection, one being a diver and the other the Omega Speedmaster. A nice problem to have I must admit. What would you do?

Fantastic videos and I fully agree that the Tudor is a cheap feeling watch. Which is an opinion that will tick some people off, but it’s what I found to be true. The seamaster is incredible but as a 5’6 dude with mid size wrists, it wears too big for me. It’s a shame they don’t offer it at 41mm like they used to.

Great watch. I have it’s bigger brother, the 9900 calibre Chronograph Grey dial variant. It’s an incredible piece. The kind of piece that just makes everything else feel lesser engineered. Omega especially on the secondary market now are absolute bargain. Fill your boots while prices are low. 👍🏻

I'm really torn between the blue and the black. Blue is somewhat my favorite color, but the blue SMP 300 looks "too in-your-face blue" when I saw it in person. The black, OTOH, seems to catch a slight blue hue outdoors (from the sky?) because of how shiny it is, and at first I thought you had that one in this video...

Thanks for the video. I owned this model and personally found it joyless, coupled with it being quite common I sold it within months of purchase. I couldn’t put my finger on it but it felt somewhat cheap to me. It certainly looked too big for my wrist too which didn’t help I’m sure. Mine was less than £4k from the AD at the time and didn’t seem worth it in hand, as for the current prices…just no.

Tudor being “cheap feeling”? Why? Cause they aren’t huge? The Seamaster is massive and I can’t wear those huge watches, but a 39mm Tudor BB58 is perfect.

I like the watch very much. Including the bracelet. In fact I love the bracelet except for the long clasp. Glad my wrists are large so that I needn't remove more than one link. That means more bracelet and in relation to the prominent clasp. ברוך השם.

Iv'e never owned a watch with AR coating on the outside but I have always thought the same thing. That measurement you made where it's 13 and then 13.5 in the middle I think is important to know.

Just got my seamaster pro. Is it normal to have what looks like a few specs of dust under the glass? It’s not easy to see but I see it now.

I love the newer seamaster but the slightly older model is perfection, the 41mm of the older watch wears perfect on the wrist. I tried on a new seamaster at an ad and was kind of disappointed in the large size and the looser feeling bezel Compared to my 41mm.

I love my SMP. The stainless steel bracelet looks kind of old-fashioned and is much too heavy. The silicone strap, on the other hand, is really perfect. I don't understand why people are complaining about the bezel. What do you use the bezel for? Most of you are not divers. I would hate it if the bezel adjusted itself like on my Tag Heuer. The glass back of my SMP is fascinating. While Rolex owners are obviously constantly turning the bezel, I prefer to look at the movement. if my Sub arrives, I'll keep my SMP anyway. Great watch! I'm not sure if the surcharge for a Rolex sub is justified.

How do you feel about the summer blue color? I'm thinking of getting a seamaster as my one big luxury watch and am deciding between the black, blue, and summer blue. I feel like the black version will be timeless, while the standard blue is the classic seamaster color, but the summer blue really stands out to me. I'm just worried after a while, I may get tired of it as a fad color.

Great if you love it, but this watch has so many design features that other watches would simply not get away with. Skeleton hands, completely parallel bracelet, octagonal bezel......... It's large size would normally attract negativity too.

I had a Seamaster, the scalloped bezel is slick and way inferior to coin edge or teeth in my opinion. I sold mine and moved into a Sea-Dweller. I have a Tudor BB 58 blue and think the bezel is clicky and great. Having said all that, my $3,000 Seiko is where the value is- amazing watch.

Why is Tudor even in this conversation?

Some people confuse design complexity with quality. Tudor and Rolex designs are elegant and timeless. Seamaster design is goofy. As for quality, the action of the bezel says a lot about it. The Rolex/Tudor ones are phenomenal and the Omega one is just okay. Rolex/Tudor bracelets are refined, elegant and comfortable. The Omega bracelet is just pathetic. Large, heavy with sharp edges and bulky clasp. Omega puts all its effort into the movement but the result is : low beat, modest power reserve and precision not better than Rolex/Tudor.

Thank you for the very entertaining video, and with regards to your Tudor comments… The only people that compare Tudor to Omega are Tudor fanboys trying to skip the line of horological importance. Omegas worst enemy is the swatch group. They basically whore them out with references out the butt. They’ve similarly beaten down Longines historical dna by making them the McDonald’s of longstanding watch brands.

Tudor looks nicer. SMP with the ceramics does pop, but aesthetically the Tudor wins. I may pick up the SMP in white with black rubber. That bracelet is so 90s.

The Seamaster seems like a nice, well built watch…. until you get a Rolex submariner in your hands. Then, you see the difference. I own both, and submariner is in another league.

the reason i went OMEGA is technology acuracy and more watch for your money. Rolex is just a status symbol still good watches but long wait list giving you lies that there better made cus of there more expensive cost. and Tudor i really dont like the hands, wich reminds me OMEGA has sword hands making me feel lika warrior.

The 300m pro. Not knocking it and would consider one... Just gets me it's closing to have was that it's the 'Brosnan Bonds watch'... So unless you're a fan of his bond films... Which were mediocre im ho... In More a Chimney fan.. or Moore.. . But it don't buy because that watch was associated with some movie.. Prefer the Planet Ocean

Great watch and I really enjoy mine but the BB58 wears way better and its bracelet is 100X better. The Rolex Sub is on another level from both.

As a dive watch? No, it's terrible, you can't turn the bezel in diving gloves. It basically isn't a diving watch, it's a pretty fashion watch. Doesn't make it a bad watch, and it's certainly superb value on the secondary market especially. I love mine on a Bark&Jack NTTD strap. But you can't dive with it, and you can with both the Rolex and the Tudor. People will say "no one dives with a mechanical watch these days"...that's about as dumb as saying "no one races a car with a carburettor these days". Today, somewhere in the world someone will use a Submariner to time a dive, no one will use a Seamaster because it can't be done. Oh, and the bracelet is appalling. But no one dives with a metal bracelet so it's a moot point. The rubber strap is actually great and saves a few £££.

I've always hated that helium escape valve. It's stupid and 0.0001% of people will ever need it.

The latest Seamaster line is unattractive. It's getting bulkier and bigger without showing any innovation. The prominent wave dial gives it a cheap appearance, which might explain why it's frequently discounted. For many, the true essence of the Seamaster lies in the era of Pierce Brosnan. Omega could never get the Seamaster right, still looks like dogchain.
